He wondered why the animal was all alone in the woods, he wondered where the parents were. But it did not matter, he was out to hunt, it was just an animal. That was what Hank kept telling himself as he made his way to the fawn.

He got to where the animal was standing, with only a tree separating them. He did not want to do it, he felt bad killing the animal, but he knew he had to do it. He ran out from behind the tree and made for the fawn, the animal made to run but he bounced on it.

The poor thing thrashed vigorously under Hank and he was quick to kill it, he buried his fangs into the animal's neck, cutting its throat.

For the first time, he tasted blood, an animal's blood. It tasted like metal and Hank wanted to throw up, the blood laced his tongue and he could have a good taste of it and he did not like it, he felt terrible. His fangs were deep into the animal's neck, and he killed it.
