I strode with a purposeful gait towards my mother's opulent chambers, my footsteps echoing through the grand halls of my ancestral home. My mind was fraught with confusion and indignation at the news that the Mendalv family had been welcomed into my pack without my knowledge or consent.

I stormed into my mother's chamber, my rage palpable as I confronted her without preamble. "What is the meaning of this? Why have the Mendalvs been allowed into my home?" My words were laced with anger.

The lady of the house, Maurie Grimaldi, resplendent in a silken gown, regarded me with a smile that did nothing to quell my ire. "Why, my dear boy, they are here for the ball, of course. You didn't think I would neglect to invite them, did you?" she replied, her tone laced with a hint of annoyance at my outburst.

My scowl deepened, and I strode closer to her, my hands balled into fists. "The Mendalvs have no place here. Their presence is an affront to our family, and I will not stand
