Chapter 17: Christian

Sadly, I watched my tears as they escaped my eyes, falling onto the ground, leaving wet tiny spots within the dirt. Christian was not with the guard. He did not care that I came to see him. I closed my eyes tightly as I continue to lower my head. The terrible pain of rejection was unbearable, but it could never match how I felt being ignored by him.

"I'm sorry you have to go through this," Natalia again apologizes.

I remain within the same position as if I were a statue. I again open my eyes; continuing to watch my tears sadly fall one by one onto the ground.

"You'll be staying at an apartment until your father and brother returns for you, alpha's order," I heard one of the new guards said.

I slowly raised my head while tears run from my eyes, down to my cheek, at the two new guards who came instead of Christian: now standing before me.
