CHAPTER 24

EDEN POV

We had walked for a while and I decided to ask Scott how far we had gone.

"How far have we gone?" I asked,

sipping from the water can I had grabbed from my bag a few seconds ago.

Scott glanced at the map he had been holding, tracing his finger along the route we had taken so far. He looked up at me with a thoughtful expression, his eyes squinting under the dream sunlight.

"I'd say we've covered about twenty-six miles," Scott replied, adjusting the strap of his backpack. "We're making good progress, but we still have a long way to go."

"Two hours more, you think you can handle it?" He questioned.

I nodded, taking another sip of water to quench my thirst.

The heat was unforgiving, and the sweat on my forehead was evidence of the challenging journey we had embarked on.

As we continued walking, the leaves shifted beneath our feet, each step taking us closer to our destination.

I was getting tired on the legs but I needed to keep up because I knew Scott wasn't going to liste
