4. Meet Again

ANGELICA IVANOV…..

THREE YEARS LATER…..

“My Mother raised me as the kindest and the sweetest person you ever met. If you mess with me then I will show you why I have my father's last name.” My voice was calm but words were powerful enough to shake him to the core as I stared right into his eyes, sitting on the chair of the restaurant.

“You, both brother and sister, are as dangerous as your father. But let me tell you one thing clearly: I will go to any extent to get this land. I need it. And you can't just threaten me to back off. I'm not afraid of you.” Even though he was sweating profusely in fear he still wasn't ready to give in. Fear was clearly showing in his eyes. So I just smiled and got up from the seat.

“Best of luck. May the Goddess protect you from evil.” I gave him a mysterious smile and walked away from there.

I also need this land for our new project and I will get it by hook or crook. I got into my car and the driver started driving back to the Office.

I leaned on the seat and closed my eyes remembering the past. A woman is dangerous who rebuilds herself from the ashes. That day, I thought I wouldn't survive, but I did. The Davenport family saved me on that day who was going back to their pack after completing their daughter’s last rituals. Rosaline Davenport was the girl who resembled me like my ditto copy. Only her hair was black with red highlights while my hair was pale blonde. Her eyes were the same as mine, Charcoal grey eyes.

They took me into their family as their daughter and gave me their daughter’s name. Angelica Ivanov died in that accident. She was innocent, kind, and weak, easy to kill, and now I was Rosaline Davenport, rude, arrogant, fearless, short-tempered person; you will think ten times before messing with her. Because no one survived after messing with her. Rosaline Davenport wasn't a person you can mess with and I had to play that character’s role. It wasn't easy to adapt her character as she was totally opposite of me.

But finally, after one whole year of training, I was ready as the new Rosaline Davenport. As Rosaline was the apple of her family's eyes I was the same for them. They loved me just like I was their blood.

At first, I refused to become their daughter and take her place. As I was no match for them. I told them my little story about my life. But that day Mom said something to change my mind. “If you are the girl he never wants then be the girl he can't afford.” Her words hit me hard and I decided to become someone who has the power to go against Alpha Alexei Ivanov. Then I will show him what happens when you mess with the wrong person. Alexei, you have seen my love. Now, I will show you how much my hatred for you is.

“Mam, we are here.” I came out of my thoughts when I heard the Driver calling for me. I opened my eyes to find him holding the car door open for me. Wearing a blood-red knee-length dress along with a red coat, I got out of the car and headed inside the office.

Everyone greeted me as I walked in gracefully. I went straight to Mom’s cabin and sat on the chair across from her. “I can tell from your expressions that the land is gonna be ours soon.” I gave her a triumphant smirk and she laughed, throwing her head back.

“You are really something. When you make up your mind to get something no one can take that from you. I'm proud of you.” She showed me a thumbs up and I smiled.

“I have chosen your dress for the Lunar Ball hosted by the Alpha King. You will find it in your room. Wear it and be ready on time. It's your first time attending a party with the family. Now you are ready to face the werewolf society. You have completely adapted Rosaline's character. No one would doubt that you are not Rosaline Davenport. Your mate will be there too. I know you will handle it.”

“Don't worry, I will handle it.” Though I reassured her that I would handle everything. But it was the first time I was going to be face-to-face with Alexei Ivanov after seven years.

“Okay, finish your work on time and go back home. I have a meeting to attend. See you at the party, sweetheart.” Saying that, she left the room, and I sighed deeply, thinking, It will be a long night tonight.

I was ready with my stunning red off-shoulder sequin mermaid dress. A ruby diamond necklace around my neck gave me a glamorous look. My hair was tied in a fancy bun which was giving me a sophisticated look. Wearing my heels and grabbing my clutch I made my way to the hallroom where brother Nathaniel was waiting for me.

“You look breathtakingly beautiful. I don't think it would be a good idea to take you to the party. Then I have to be your bodyguard to keep the flirt guys away from you.” I laughed and smacked his arm.

“Oh, come on, Nathan. Don't start again. It's my first time attending a party with you. Encourage me. You know I'm very much capable enough to handle those creeps. You just wish me luck so that I can face my enemy today.” He placed his hand on my head with a smile.

“I believe you will handle it. And if there is any problem you have me. I will always be there for you, anytime. Last time, I couldn't save my sister, but I will go to any extent to save my little sister. Now let's go.” He extended his arm to me and I held it with a smile. We settled on the car and the driver drove off.

“Are you going to take revenge on him?” Nathaniel asked me and I tilted my head at him.

“Revenge, No, Bro. Revenge sounds so mean, I prefer to call it, returning the favor.” I winked at him and he laughed, shaking his head with amusement.

“You are unbelievable.”

We reached the banquet and walked in together. As I walked in, every attention fell on me. Some were whispering seeing me, while some were ogling at me, while some were throwing daggers at me as I was looking better than them. I just ignored them and moved forward with Nathaniel.

As I was walking with Nathaniel, my gaze fell on Alexei, who was standing in the distance talking with someone. My heart skipped a beat seeing him but I controlled my heart and looked away from you. Why is he alone? Where is Charlotte? They are supposed to attend the banquet together then why he's alone today

“What happened? Why did your body tensed up suddenly, is it because of Alpha Alexei?” Nathaniel asked me and I shook my head.

“I'm fine, it's just my stupid heart reacted differently.” I was annoyed because of my heart as it was hammering inside of my ribcage. It shouldn't be reacting like this.

“Take deep breaths and calm down.” I nodded at his words and walked with my chin up.

We went to our parents, and everyone was surprised to see me as Rosaline was gone for so long. “Where were you all these years? It's been a long time.” Luna Irana engulfed me in a hug and I just pulled away from her.

“I know you are not pleased to see me, Luna Irana. So please stop pretending.” My voice was nonchalant and she gritted her teeth in anger.

“You are still as arrogant as before. I'm not surprised. Yes, you are right that I'm not happy about your return because my mate has an interest in you. But it was in ancient times when I was his fiance but now I'm the mother of his child. And he loves me a lot.” She tossed her hair over her shoulder in a style and I smiled at her confidence.

“I feel sorry for you my dear. Just look right behind you and you will see how wrong you are.” She turned around to find her mate staring at me.

I laughed and walked away from there to have some drinks. I ordered the bartender to give me a glass of scotch and he passed it to me after some time.

I was taking a sip when I heard a familiar voice and I felt my heart going wild. “Get me a vodka.” I pulled down my glass to meet with a pair of hazel-green eyes. These eyes were my favorite. I saw him sitting across from me.

The bartender served him his shot. And he looked at me after taking his glass. “Hello, Miss Davenport. Nice meeting you.” He extended his hand to me for a handshake.

“I hope I could say the same to you.” Hearing my words, he pulled back his hand and took a sip from his drink.

“You look like someone I know.” I laughed at his words.

“Don't you think it has become an old pickup line, Alpha Alexei?” His lips pressed together. I took another sip of my drink when he said something unexpected.

“You believe it or not. But you look exactly like someone who was close to my heart.”
