The atmosphere was cold and silent as only the sound of ruffling leaves could be heard accompanied by a loud cry of a powerful werewolf, the night dark and far from safety.
An awful smell polluted the air as birds of the night cried out for safety. Through the thick darkness, a young man was seen running fiercely through the deep woods, his hair dark as coal as it rested firmly on his shoulder. His lips were red as blood and his green eyes sparkled through the night in great fear. The heavy sound of his panting echoed through the woods which were fully guarded by tall trees as its leaves swung to the touch of the night breeze.
Adolphus turned back with great panic in his eyes as beads of sweat formed on his forehead. His skin was as white as snow and his uncovered chest was filled with full hairs. He panted loudly as he ran faster than any werewolf that has ever lived but the more he ran, the more his strength faded.
Adolphus glanced at his fingers which sprint out in the long and pointy length that was so terrifying to look at. A great pain struck his chest and he cried out loud in anguish, his teeth pointed out as his face was covered in long black hairs. His breath was fading but he must run far away from the evil witch that wanted nothing but his death. But no matter how hard he tried to run, he felt his chest being struck by a bolt of great lightning that prevented his legs from taking charge.
Adolphus's eyes scanned around the quiet but dark woods, his panting becoming louder as his heartbeat increased that he thought he was going to drop dead that minute.
"Mother, what have you done?" he muttered under his breath as he groaned in great pain, his hand placed on his chest. Adolphus glanced down at his blank pants which were torn in different parts by the thorns of flowers in the woods.
The picture of his mother appeared in his mind, the sight of her triggered so much anger in him that he clenched his teeth in rage, blood flowed down the side of his mouth.
He never believed that his mother will ever betray the werewolf clan, his father, and him. Adolphus's green eyes welled up in tears as he ran more, his claws cut through tree branches that blocked his way. He must survive and save his clan from total extinction, never will he let her, the wicked witch of the five clans catch up with him. Being the only werewolf alive, he must be safe and protect his dignity.
A loud cry of a raven filled his ears, suddenly, Adolphus felt a great pain in his chest, his knees grew weak that instant as he felt unable to move. With great anguish, he knelt to the moist ground, his hand on his chest as he cried out in grief. His eyes began to flicker around, his breathing began to slow down rapidly and he felt a huge lump in his throat.
Instantly, he fell to the ground, his face covered in dirt as he crawled with shaky hands. The poison in his stomach was growing intensively as he felt the taste of blood in his mouth.
"Oh mother, what have you done?" He muttered again in great pain, a tear trickled down his left eye slowly.
He never knew that his mother would ever poison him, a human married to a werewolf but decided to sell her family and became a powerful witch. Adolphus breathed deeply as he felt his strength leaving him, he was dying, he knows that but he doesn't want to die, not now, not ever!.
Suddenly, a great wind began to blow, leaves shoved around in different directions as a dreadful smell filled Adolphus's nose.
"She is here" he whispered to himself, his green eyes closing slowly in pain.
A loud and evil chuckle filled the woods as a great clapping was heard in the sky. Great lightning flashed across the woods as thick clouds covered the stars. A squirrel ran past a tree into a hole as it wailed its tail in fear.
The laughter was heard again and a ruffle of dry leaves occupied his mind.
"Nice to see you again Adolphus, you know that you can never run forever" A woman's voice replenished his thoughts as the wind became fierce, shoving leaves and tree branches in different directions.
Crammed with tremendous pain, Adolphus slowly glanced up at the woman before him. Her hair was black as night, her lips full but black as her black gown suited her evil personality. She held a broom in her left hand and a silver necklace in her right.
Adolphus twisted his eyes in anger and pain, his teeth clenched together as his veins popped out by the side of his head. With his body fixed on the ground and his head raised, Adolphus's eyes shone in tremor.
"Why are you doing this mother?" He inquired with a little love in his eyes, his voice held so much pain.
Avena's eyes squeezed in anger, the ground beneath her began to tremble, "Shut up you fool!" She roared in anger, her blue eyes sparkled in disgust. "I have always waited for this day, a day I will cast my vengeance on your father, a man I despise the most!" She cried out with great fury.
Adolphus's eyes were filled with a confused expression, his ears not able to believe her outburst.
"But mother" Adolphus let out in shock, "You love father with all your heart, Cires and me, why did you do this? Why do you want revenge on us?" He asked all at once, his eyes searching for answers.
Avena's lips stretched in a smirk, "I never loved your father" she confessed in an evil tone, her fingers wrapped around her broom as she began to walk around him in great sarcasm.
"Your father is a werewolf despite by all witches, he killed my father and made me live my whole life without a father" she paused with red flame eyes, "Now, justice has been served and I am sorry that the whole werewolf clan paid for his sin, including you son" she smirked.
Adolphus's eyes tightened in anger as he couldn't believe her words. He looked up at her with fading breath as his heart began to beat slowly, his hair fading little by little.
"All I ever did was to love you mother, nothing else " Adolphus let out under his dying breath, his strength failing him.
Avena turned to him with hatred in her eyes, "You won't die Adolphus but a great curse will be placed on you" she announced with fiery eyes. Slowly she walked towards Adolphus, touched his chin as she raised his head to hers, their eyes locked together, "I curse you, Adolphus, you shall not die but become immortal but you will be hidden from the face of humans. You will be cast into a pit of darkness and you cannot be able to escape no matter how hard you try" Avene paused, "But, only a young human can save you. She will be born of royalty, a rebellious princess that cannot be tamed. The moment she locks eyes with you, the curse will be broken but until then, you will become nothing but a faded memory" Avena whispered into his ears, her mouth stretched in an evil smirk.
Adolphus's eyes began to close, his heart knotted in a twist of agony. "Mother" he whispered as his heart beat stopped, his eyes finally closed into an eternal realm of darkness.
"This is the myth of the legendary werewolf of mankind, evil and fierce and he kills without mercy, so brutal and relentless" The voice of Mama Gunad, the oldest woman in the village echoed in her small abode surrounded with candles and little children who sat in her most, their eyes wide open in fear and curiosity."Is he alive, mother?" a young child among the children asked with little eyes that were covered with fear.Mama Gunad's expression was suppressed as she looked at the child with a scary face, "Yes!" She roared, her eyes scanning the little children before her, "He lives far away from the reach of humans, bound with a curse that can never let him out, he…" A soft chuckle cut her through as a figure walked into her hut, her long black hair flowed gently behind her back, "Oh mother, when will you ever stop telling such tales about a legendary werewolf, we all know that he doesn't exist" Princess Lilia said on sarcasm as she stood beside the children who stared at her with a
Lilia strolled through the hallway and headed towards the throne room. She glanced down at the pink gown she decided to wear. It stood elegantly on her body but not regarding its beauty, Lilia felt very uncomfortable in it. She glanced at her hands that were covered in white long gloves, her hair was nicely packed by her maids with hairpins that added more radiating beauty to it. As she sauntered further, her blue eyes twinkled as unspoken words filled her mind. She wondered which kingdom this suitor comes from and his looks but one thing is certain that no man can ever win her heart. She got to the door of the throne room, from where she stood, she heard her father's voice along with an unfamiliar voice. The soldier at the door opened it widely for her as she stepped in, her eyes fixed on the young man next to her father.King Arthur looked up at the sight of Lilia, he smiled proudly at her look and was sure that her suitor would be thrilled by her captivating beauty. The sound of galloping horses was heard across the kingdom. Soldiers rode through the kingdom with sticks of fire in their hands as they safeguard the kingdom against invading enemies. Lilia hid behind a cart, a scarf tied around her head as she waited for a soldier galloping towards her. The soldier rode past her not noticing her presence, Lilia inhaled deeply in relief and quickly walked towards Mama Gunad's door. She knocked quietly not to attract the attention of a nearby soldier approaching her. She heard a voice indoors, "Open mother, it's Lilia" she whispered with her mouth pressed on the wooden door. Instantly, the door opened, Lilia quickly burst in and closed the door. The noise of the closing door attracted a nearby soldier. Quickly, Lilia hid under the old woman's bed, her hands over her mouth."I heard a noise in here," the soldier said firmly as he stared at the woman with angry eyes. Mama Gunad weakly held onto the door as she faced the intimidating soldier, "It's n
The sun shone brightly without mercy, the chirping sound of insects filled the woods as squirrels ran past the grass up to a tree trunk. Lilia's eyes flickered around as she walked on, she had been wandering around for hours but couldn't find a nearby village. Every moment she felt thirsty, she brought out the bottle of water in her bag, took a sip, and dumped it back into her bag just to preserve it. She doesn't know when she will find a village so she shouldn't be wasteful. As she walked on, her feet stepped on dry leaves as the rustling sound occupied her, she looked up at the tall trees before her, some of them had dry leaves which fell drastically to the ground but the rest were green and filled with fruits of its kind. She must find a way through these trees and get to someone as soon as possible but the more she walked, the more she became confused and paranoid. Lilia bit her lower lip with puzzled eyes, at a point, she began to feel weak and her feet began to hurt. She surv
Lilia began to struggle in the dark but the hand that held her was far stronger than her fading strength. She kicked the figure hard on its leg which was so firm that she thought she hit a rock instead. The figure said nothing but refused to release its hand from her mouth no matter how hard Lilia strived.Slowly, a tiny ray of light emitted from a crack above, and slowly, Lilia saw a pair of dazzling green eyes staring at her. At first, she couldn't see anything else but those green eyes that were pierced deep into her soul. She closed her eyes and struggled more but the more she did, the more she realized that her effort was fruitless. With sad eyes, a tear slowly fell from her left eye as she begged the green eyes which stared at her nonstop. Slowly, the ray of the light became brighter and shone on the necklace around her neck, its radiation filled the room. The green eyes before her shone in shock at the sight of the necklace and suddenly his eyes became so angry and violent.
A ray of light pierced through her skin, her body burned up in enormous pain. Slowly, Lilia opened her eyes to find a pair of eyes staring at her. She narrowed her eyes at the image before her as it became clear, the eyes that stared at her were not the green eyes she was expecting to see but her mum's blue eyes that shone in worry."My Child" Queen Mena muttered with a happy smile as she quickly cupped Lilia's hand in hers, her face beaming with joy.Lilia blinked with a confused look, she scanned around and was surprised to find herself back in her bedroom, her mum seated next to her with a relieved face. She squeezed her forehead puzzled as she wondered how she got here, "Mother" she whispered as the pain in her mouth prevented her from speaking. She winced in pain, her eyes shut together as her back ached badly."Stay calm child, don't stress yourself, you are still healing" Queen Mena caress her hand slowly, her eyes welled up with tears, "I thought I have lost you forever" she s
The sound of the galloping horses was heard as they left the palace and headed to the village. Lilia glanced out at the open window of the carriage as she gazed at people who stopped as soon as they saw the royal carriage approaching. Finally, she could get answers concerning the necklace that was given to her by Mama Gunad, she needs to know its origin and maybe get answers of the beast in the cave. The carriage rode gently, the pain in her body made it difficult for her to stay put but she insisted that she would, no matter how hard it would take.Soon, they got closer to Mama Gunad's house, the people around stared at Queen Mena in glittering eyes as they admired her beauty and royal clothings. They were used to seeing the princess but the presence of the Queen gave them goosebumps as their heart raced with awe. Lilia got out of the carriage, she didn't care about her twisted ankle or the villagers watching. With pains, she limps towards the door of the hut, her heart filled wit
Two maids rushed into the room as they heard Lilian loud gasp. They stared at her with scared eyes as they wondered what happened.Lilian panted heavily as she stared at her body, she still had bruises on her skin but she felt no pain in her legs, hands or body!.Shocked, she quickly got out of her bed, walked towards the door and back to her bed without limping or any feeling of pain. The maids stared at her in confusion but none of them dared to say a word but watched her with longing eyes. Lilia walked towards a mirror nearby, glared at her reflection and to add more to her surprise, her red puffy eyes were all gone as they were replaced with her normal eyeballs. Even the cut by the side of her mouth healed, not a scratch could be seen but the wounds on her hands and leg were still present. Quickly she turned to the maids with a smile on her face which quickly faded as she walked to her bed, sat on it and the weird dream she just had crawled slowly into her mind. She turned to th
