THE OFFER
Emily cursed for the hundredth time today when the telephone rang again.
It was enough problem for her to be going on and on to get the computer specialist to help her with her computer.
She just sat down a minute or so ago and this damn telephone is ringing again .
What does he think she is ? A working machine??
Destroying the telephone was an appealing notion that she dare not act upon. If only she could just smash the stupid telephone down on the floor , gather it remains and throw it away in the dustbin where it won't ever be recycled again .
That motherfvcking thing is ringing again!! She almost burst into a sob . She feels like banging her head on the table right now .
She sniffed and patted herself and moved albeit grudgingly. She entered and met the three of them seated and wore an eager look.
They shouldn't even dream of sending her on some stupid errand else she would die right now!!
" Yes sir . You called me . " She said stiffly and eyed him viciously.
" Yeah ..uhm. my brothers want to speak with you . " He looked away quickly
Emily rubbed her ears together to make sure that she wasn't having hearing problem.
Her boss was speaking in a gentle manner ?? And stuttering as well??
Obviously the world must be about to end
" Yeah, we would like to know some things about you " the youngest one spoke politely unlike his dratty older brother
There was no telling again !! It was is about to end !! They wanted to ask question about her ?? What for !?
" Yes sir . Although I don't think that's necessary but I'll try to answer to the best of my ability. " She said stiffly
" You're funny ." Gabriel smiled and she smiled back .
" Those two girls from the club yesterday. How are you related . " Samuel asked
" Well we're not related by blood but we've been friends since we can remember. " She replied as a little smile found its way to the corner of her mouth when she remembered all that she has gone through with them
" Where did you meet ?? " Gabriel asked and Samuel elbowed him
" What was that for ?? " He whined
" Well , we met at the orphanage. We grew up together in the orphanage before moving out to our own apartment. " Emily replied and wondered if the sun has risen in the north today. Or if the earth was turning into a pentagon shape.

" Sorry to hear that . But I would like to ask you one last question. " Samuel told her and she reckon that he was probably the most sensible one of them .
" Yes please, do " she smiled at them . Her signature smile.

No please , stop it , that was the words that were ringing inside her head but she managed to smile
" If you were to see a offer that includes lots of money . I'm talking of million dollars here . For three weeks. Would you do it?? " Gabriel asked her . He stare right into her eyes and she quickly averted her gaze
Throughout the whole time , Micheal was just watching their interaction without saying a single word
She laughed a little.
Is this a trick question ?? Oh that what it is ? No wonder they were asking her some irrelevant questions
" There's obviously no job that would pay me millions of dollars for three weeks. " She replied feeling smart
" Well let's assume there is !! "Micheal snapped and she glared at him . Quickly averting her eyes before he could notice .
" Is it a hard drug smuggling??" She leaned closer to them and whispered.
Gabriel burst into laughter and even Samuel smiled . Only Micheal was frowning.
" No . No it isn't." Samuel assured her

" Let's say it's some type of contract. Like an agreement. Pretending to be something you're not . For three weeks." Samuel explained trying to get her to understand the situation
" As long as it's not impersonation. And not illegal . For millions of dollars, then why not?? "
" You'll do it ?? " Micheal asked surprising Emily . As he had been behaving like a deaf person.
" Yes. At long as it's not illegal. " She replied
" What if there's also vacancy for your friends, would you advice them to do it ?? " Gabriel asked
Okay. This is getting weird. Why were they dragging her friends into the talk!!
" Of course I'll advise them to it " Emily smiled
" Can I go now ?? " She asked them impatiently . She had a lot to do , than stay here talking about some impossible things . She'll rather be doing the practical part . And that is getting back to her work .
Not spending the rest of her precious time to talk about some millions dollars that won't come her way unless she works her butt off for the next few years .
She bowed a little and proceeded to move outside when the next question stopped her in her tracks
" What if I offer you 20 million dollars for three weeks. If you and your friends accept to pretend to be our girlfriends. " Micheal spoke out loudly .
She turned back inside , sat down on the sofa before bursting into laughter. She cackled profusely and finally wheezed to a stop .
" You should stop saying jokes like that . " She said in between hiccups as tears of laugh rolled down her face
" He's not joking. " Samuel replied in a serious tone
" Ohh. I get it . This a trick question. But no I won't accept. " She said and laughed a little. She stared at them and gulped a little nervously at their serious look .
The eager and slightly hopeful look on their face startled her .
The couldn't be serious right ?? Could they ??
" Are you guys serious right now,?? " She asked them gently to confirm and the slowly nodded .
" Huh.. wait let me think. Why me ? Why us?? " She asked
"We'll tell you later . But promise you'll think about the offer . 20 million dollars for three weeks. " Samuel reminded her gently .
Micheal handed her a piece of paper with his number on it .
" Call me , whenever you've decided"
But Emily was sure he didn't need to remind her.
20 million fucking dollars for three weeks!!!!!!! She couldn't be sure to get that much of a money even if she worked off her butt for five years .
She only nodded , mouth wide agape, unable to say anything.
She opened the door and went back to her seat .
What the hell was that all about?? 20 motherfucking million dollars!?? For three weeks??
She closed her mouth afraid of bugs and gasp . She had been typing rubbish on the computer .
Concentrating on anything become a bit difficult as she couldn't get her mind off that huge sum of money.
But again she was worried. What if her friend don't accept?? They would surely shout when the hear this offer

They got home . Quickly discarding all their clothing material. Each went to their room to freshen up and get some well deserved rest.
Emily slept and dreamt of how rich she was . Buying different type of jewelry and cars .

She woke up from the dream and smiled
She would love to get to rich one day by the way .
Maybe the opportunity that she had always been praying for was finally coming her way .
She went downstairs and saw Mera and Hana cooking in the kitchen.
" What's taking your time ?? " Emily voiced out
"Why don't you just keep your dirty mouth shut and help me here instead " Hana said as she took the ladle to stir something's on the fire
" Well , what should I do ?? " She asked them
" Take the plate to the dining room and lay it down
" Yes ma'am." She snickered and went to the dining table to start setting the table .
They finished eating and turn on the television as usual .
Emily was deep in thought, thinking about way to tender the matter to them in the most eligible way .
They were in the last episode when Emily spoke
" I have xa question for you guys " she asked them'
" What's that ?? " Hana asked
" If you were offered 20 million to pretend to be someone's girlfriend for three weeks?? "
" For three weeks,??? 20 million?! " Mera asked surprisedly
" Yes would you accept?? " She asked them again
" It depends on who's in need of the girlfriend" Mera spoke thoughtfully

" I have half expected that you guys would vehemently disagree and I was mentally preparing some argument that can be used to win you over ! " Emily informed them and they laughed

This feels so surreal! Emily thought . Why them ,?? Why not one of their notorious girlfriends? Why them ,??
Come to think of it . In what situation where they exactly, that we're in desperate need of girlfriends,??
Perhaps to decide someone. But who ?? Who are they trying so hard to impress,??
