Chapter 9; His ex's escapade

“Page dearest, what is this I hear about? Did you sustain an ankle injury?" Her sensitive natured granddad asked, concerned.

"It's nothing, truly. I am absolutely fine,” she assured in gentle tone.

“Nonsense! How can a sprained ankle be nothing? Your husband told me you could barely walk without his assistance,” he objurgated in an offended manner.

*Not to talk of the cut you sustained on your finger,” he sighed heavily.

“You do not have to yell at me do you old man?” she teased and let out a light chuckle.

"Oh this is not a laughing matter young lady. Nothing about any of this is funny,” he breathed.

“I know, I know, I should have been more conscientious. I am sorry I got you worried,” she pouted.

“Overly worried dear. Wear comfortable shoes for the time being. No stilettos okay?” He ordered sternly.

"I swear I won't go against you this time,“ she promised and her giggles transformed to feats of laughter.

“You had better not," he laughed.

“Oh hi,” she dragged with a smile on.“So, we meet again pretty lady,” he repeated, maintaining eye contact with her.She could not help the soft chuckle that escaped her mouth. Her eyelids shut and her left hand was raised to her mouth in a failed attempt to obfuscate her reddened cheek. Indeed, she felt flattered. “Please, you do not have to flatter me,” she grinned.“Indeed, we meet again. It's nice to see you Mr. Will," she said and shook his opened hand.“Likewise. Please drop the honorifics, it's not necessary,” he informed and threw a popcorn into his mouth. “Alright then, Will,” she said shyly.Feeling slightly uncomfortable under his gaze, she squirmed in her seat and stared anywhere else but his face.“Fate undoubtedly brought us together," he remarked firmly.“What do mean?" She asked, suddenly interested in the comment he made. “The last time we met, you declined giving me your number and settled for telling me just your name," he began, turning in his seat to be able t

“I do not know how to put it," he said with his hand in his pocket.“Say what you want to tell me however it pleases you," she told him.He opened his mouth to say something but nothing came out then, he sighed with a smile. “Would you rather you talk about it later because I would like to be on my way home," "Ok then, I would call you tonight,” he said and stepped away from her car so she could drive away when she got in and closed the door. "Alright."Will felt pathetic because he couldn't express himself. He watched as her sleek white car pulled into the road and zoomed off in an instant, leaving him in that spot.“What was so hard?" He asked himself as though he expected a clone of himself to provide a satisfactory answer. He ran his hand through his hair and when he did it the third time, his hand vigorously moved in an indefinite manner around his hair until he stamped his feet on the ground, looked around and began moving towards Greenstone theater main gate. "A rat!" she exclaimed with utmost incredulity. "I was screaming because of a rat?" Page scoffed. "Why did you scream in the first place?" He asked loudly in disbelief, trying to keep his anger and panic in check. "I am sorry, I thought it was a freaking snake when I mistook the sound for a hiss," she answered him with the intention of clearing the air."Confirmation of your assumption is paramount in cases like this," he screamed at her. "I ran out of the bathroom because of the alarm you raised, he stated. "Imagine I slipped and fell, what would you have said or done?" He continued in a harsh tone. "I am very sorry Rowan. I admit that it was only out of impulse and it could have been hazardous if you had sustained any injury but do you have to sound so mean or vituperate me? It is what I thought I heard but unfortunately, I was wrong. Why are you yelling?""Did you just ask me why I am yelling?" Page was twirling with the bouquet in her hands when her phone rang. She sat down then answered the call after clearing her throat and gulping down some water to avoid speaking hoarsely.“Good morning, how was your night?" Will asked.“It was good. I received the flowers you sent, they are beautiful. Thank you,” she said in a way that would not arouse the fact that no man had ever gifted her flowers, delighting in the way her tone made it seem as though receiving flowers was a normal and frequent happening in her life. “I am glad you loved them beautiful. I would end the call now, I do not want to pose a hinderance to you accomplishing what you have for the day, have a nice day.”“Thank you, bye Will,” she blushed and swivelled her chair before ending the call. Her door swung open and her loving grandad walked in.“Knocking and being granted permission to enter is the right thing to do grandpa,” she said to him."Is that how to greet who you constantly confide in?” He asked with an

"Wow," she whispered to herself as she walked into the restaurant that Will had picked out for them. Seats and spaces were occupied by love birds chattering and giggling lightly. The restaurant was cozy, roomy and lucent. Although it was a rather sophisticated one, it had an amiable ambiance. It was a beautiful and serene sight. She looked around and spotted Will who was dressed in a plain black shirt and white trousers with a black pair of shoes to go with the outfit. The simple look suited him as he wore a smile and raised his hand a bit to indicate where he sat so that she could walk over to the table. Will gasped and admired the beauty that stood before him then willed himself to stand up from where he sat and pull out her chair for her to take a seat. That simple but sweet gesture caused butterflies to erupt abruptly in Page's stomach. "You look breathtaking I must say," he said after summoning up all the courage he could. Page's checks burned with embarrassment as she b

Page knew that her best friend Lina made bad drunken mistakes but what she was looking at was a lot to take in. Lina was straddling a guy who was seated on a couch and her legs laying on the couch at either side of his legs. She was seriously grinding the guy who she knew was a stranger to Lina and they both seemed to be enjoying it as she was letting out stifled moans occasionally and him, grunts. She was in a mini shirt that stopped midway between her thighs. Her hips kept gyrating as her hands held either sides of his face and they kissed each other desperately but not too quickly or roughly. His legs were slightly spread out and the feet of his left slightly farther than that of the right one and raised up from the ground a bite. His two hands were at work, kneading softly her ass cheeks as he sank deeper and deeper into the kiss, grunting and let out breaths of satisfaction. He raised his right hand to her face and pushed her face closer to his to deepen the kiss, sinking his t

Page was on her third glass of beer, getting herself highly intoxicated although she was a lightweight. She slammed the third glass on the counter and wiped the corners of her mouth with her thumb. Pushing herself up from the stool on which she sat, she staggered to the dance floor. Immersive music which the cozy air carried from the large speakers filled the room and caused Page to sway her hips and body to it's beat, enjoying every bit of it. She danced till she was tired and wasted but wasn't sweating heavily as the air around her was cool. Suddenly, she felt this longing and yearning for someone she knew to be around her, keeping her company and dancing alongside her as Lina had been taken away from her. She staggered to a corner and put on her phone. She held herself up on the wall and leaned her head against it. Her finger tapped a number and it began dialing.“Page, where the hell are you? It's extremely late now, it's past ten already,” Rowan inquired in concern."Hey baby,”

Rowan held Page close to himself and walked her to his car. Loud silence rang in Page's mind as she tried to lock up her overwhelming emotions and keep her cool. She was antsy as she was becoming sexually frustrated every passing minute. Every time the car came to a halt due to traffic light regulations, her thighs made friction with each another, making her breath hitch at that moment and her hold on her purse to tighten. The sexual urge was getting worse and she didn't know how long she could hold out. She had never pleasured herself before and didn't feel like it was right to choose it as the next option in her state and in the position she found herself in. Occasionally, she closed her eyes to keep her breathing steady but it was not as effective as she thought it would be. When the car once again came to an abrupt halt, producing a screeching sound as it did, she sucked in a breath and crossed her legs tightly. She pressed her thighs together and sank her head into the headrest

EpilogueAgain, nothing beats family.Yes, there would always be fights, arguments and trials but then again, what are relationships without all of that. Quarrels being settled after a little period of distancing from one another, just a little, only makes the bond between them stronger. That, I say, is a fact very well proven if you in anyway doubt this theory.“How could you have thought that I hide such a sensitive information from you without ever planning to tell you at some point?” Page asked Rowan in disbelief."Well, you didn't tell me yourself did you? I had to find out from someone else,” Rowan replied, pissed but not screaming too loudly. “Why are you seeing it that way?”"Because it's what it is Cupcake. How else do you want me to take it?” He asked, taking off his hand that was on his forehead and looking at her. They were in their bedroom, Page seated on the bed, facing Rowan while he was standing in front of the wall, his back leaning against it.“I didn't tell you th

A hand stretched to where she had sat, Page picked up the small envelope Will had dropped before leaving. The square shaped envelope was white, the little designs on it, gold. Into her bag she dropped it and walked out of the place.A sad feeling sat at the center of her heart as she wished nature would have been nice enough to not have made them meet in the way and time they had met. She was saddened by the fact that things had to go the way they did and she could not be friends with her husband's best friend. It was disheartening. Sadly, the hands of time could not be turned and past actions could not be rewritten or changed. A concise moment of thoughts and she finalized that all the blame was to be accorded to them, the sometimes despicable humans and not nature because undeniably so, humans have will in the palm of their hands. Decisions and actions; rights and wrongs; good and evil; all rest in the palm of our hands so why constantly blame nature… or fate for some of the predic

Rowan forced Page out of bed on Tuesday morning and stayed in the bathroom as she took her bath to make sure she didn't go back to bed when he left the room. She had pleaded with him to let her stay at home but he didn't think it was a good idea. He reckoned that they had had three days of rest for themselves and it was time to get back to work.“You’re a CEO Page," he had said to her as he rolled off their duvet from her body for the third time. He had driven her to work after they had had breakfast and on the way, revealed to her that their head chef was his nanny he had told her about. She cared so much for him that she opted to be his head chef instead of leaving him when he was grown to the point that he could take care of himself. Page was shocked at his revelation. She had hit him and scolded him for not letting her in on that kind of information early enough for her to reverence her as she ought to. Making a mental note to thank her for all that she did for Rowan, she retreat

“Wear the blue dress, it would suit the cool atmosphere better,” Rowan replied to Page's question, buttoning up his blue shirt before putting on his white, pristine loose-fitting trouser.“Okay baby," Page said as she put down the other dress she had in her hand on the bed.She decided to do her light makeup before putting on her dress: pigmented nude eyes with smokey creases and ombre, glossy lips. With ease, she rocked the dress Rowan had picked out between the two she had held out for him to see. They had gone up to the master bedroom to take their bath after Page had released him from their tight hug, him carrying her in his arms till he was in front of the room. They had showered differently, Page going in first before him. He had proposed they go on an outing and had told Page to make a decision on the places she wanted to go. As she hadn't made her choice yet, she said nothing about it, thinking hard of the places she wanted to explore together with her husband. “So… where hav

“My God!” Rowan screamed then released a breath as he jiggled her breasts in his hands and bit her nipples not too hard through her t-shirt. “And you are… you're my Queen. You're my mind blower, my ambrosia, my aphrodisiac. You're my soulmate, my soul's captor and I have to confess that you have rendered me completely powerless around you,” he said softly like he was confessing something which he wanted no one else to hear.Groaning, he took his hands off her breasts and brought his face out of the soace between her breasts. His senses were slowly slipping out from him.“I want to take your tee off Cupcake," he said, snaking his hands underneath her t-shirt and twisting her nipples in the most teasing way ever.Page moaned softly. Music to his ears they were.“Do whatever you want baby," Page uttered, squirming at how good his hands felt on the most sensitive parts of her breasts.“I love it when you call me baby, it sounds so sexy coming from you. “If you keep moaning and grinding on me like that, I fear I might loose my senses and control completely Cupcake," Rowan said in a seductive tone against her lips.Trying to catch her breath, she shook her head.“Loose them Rowan, that's what I want," she said and slammed her lips against his, her growing needs evident in every movement of her lips.Rowan kissed her back, matching up her energy with his once again before finally pulling away.“We need to stop Cupcake. Sex this morning would drain you as you know you had nothing tangible to eat last night. That aside, we just made up,” Rowan reasoned as he held her face so that she would focus on what he was saying and not try to reclaim his lips.“I am not complaining about that Rowan. It was ten in the morning and the feeling of waking up had never been more satisfying. Rowan smiled with a refreshing thrill as he opened his eyes, his dreams were finally coming to play. Waking up to watch Page sleep was his first blessing of the morning. His left hand was outstretched across the pillow and had her head on it. He had his other hand over her waist, holding her as close to himself as he could. The memories of the previous night swam into his mind as he moved back a bit to watch Page while his head remained on the pillow. He had thought of giving her her space for the night which led to him walking to his bed after putting on the t-shirt and casual loose fitting trousers he had picked out. Instead of climbing onto the bed as Page had anticipated he would, he had picked up a pillow and walked to his couch. This left Page with a puzzled look invading her features. What does he think he's doing? She had asked herself as she watched him lay on the couch, leaving her to slee
