"So..." Finn asked after we had both tucked in our seatbelt and settled down nicely in his car. In as much as I didn't want him to drive me, I was at least grateful that he was helping me out. Mike had left earlier because he wanted to attend to something urgent. "Where is the route to your home?"

I chuckled. "I'm not going home. I want to go and see my mother who is admitted in the hospital." I broke down the news to him and he turned to face me.

"I'm sorry. I had no idea that your mum was in the hospital." He whispered empathetically.

I waved him off. "It's not your fault so why are you apologizing? Besides, it's not like I mentioned or said anything about it. Please don't embarrass me by doing this Finn."

"I just figured that since we were friends I should know a thing or two about you and here I am again still clueless without a thoughts about whatever you're going through. So how is your mother and is she doing okay?"
