Clarissa,
Pecking my lips softly and watching the image on the TV screen display, I coiled my hair in between my index finger with a sigh of frustration.
Today is the D day, and our degree results were meant to be published. I couldn't afford the transport fare to my school, so Virginia; my flatmate and best friend offered to get to school and verify our results. She left two hours ago. She hasn't called nor texted and I'm beginning to get worried.
As much as I wanted to keep calm, I still resented some nervousness. I gave it my all and I didn't want to fail the final exams.
I had no money to start all over.
I needed a decent job to pay for the bills which kept piling up.
The ringing sound of my phone pulled me out of my thoughts. Seeing Virginia's number displayed on my phone, I sat upright before answering the call, "Hello," I said, my voice growing softer.
"We finally did it. As I speak to you now, we are the latest degree holders in town," She said, her deep husky voice booming through the phone.
'Yay!'
The feeling was inexplicable, it was unbelievable. Working as a part-time dancer and still succeeded in passing my final year exams. It's just marvelous!
"Girl, get ready, cause we are celebrating this over a bottle of wine." She said, her words sinking deep into my head.
This was what made me different from Virginia. We were maybe best friends, but we saw life differently. I'm an introvert while she is the exact opposite. She loved clubbing and all that involved entertainment. How do I tell her all I need is to relax and think about the next stage of my life? I'm sure she'll be vexed when I tell her am not in the mood to go out.
Twenty minutes later she's home. "What, you're still not ready?" Virginia peered intently at me, with her eyes widened in shock.
With black kinky hair tied in a neat bun, heart-shaped lips, and almond green eyes; Virginia was a bubbly personality. I quickly changed into something nice and was ready to go pop!!
Some minutes later, we were at St Johns Top Plaza, seated close to the VIP section. It was a clubhouse popularly visited by company owners, and mafia bosses. I wonder where Virginia got the money to reserve a spot for us here.
The waitress served us a bottle of Sauvignon. She poured the content into our glasses before taking her leave. I gulped down the content in my glass while scanning the environment. Though I wasn't in agreement with us going out, I'm happy I finally agreed to follow her. The area was neatly decorated, the beautiful lights and numerous faces. I mean, I wasn't regretting this at all.
While glancing at the couples who were dancing, my gaze met with that of a guy who was seated not far from our table. He was at the VIP section. He looked hot and sexy. He had trimmed coffee-brown hair that were pushed behind. He was putting on jeans, and a white shirt. His two, first buttons were left open, exposing his well-built chest. His olive-green eyes gazed at me over his puffy pink lips.
He was with another dude and they were both sharing a bottle of wine. I couldn't help but frequently do eye contact with him. We did that for a moment of ten minutes. And next, he waved his hands at me.
Gosh… He was approaching my table!
What does he want? Hope he isn't coming for me!
"Hello, beauties." His husky voice sent shivers down my spine. From far he looked handsome, but this right here is the epitome of beauty.
I took a sharp breath to calm down my nerves, "Hello," I said, avoiding his gaze.
gulping the remaining content of my drink, I lowered my head next to avoid our repeating eye contact.
"I'm Aiden… Aiden Carter. And you are?" He addressed me, but I was too shy to respond.
"Clarissa Wayne!" Virginia responded in my place, extending her hand to meet his. He extended his and dropped it back immediately.
"Waiter," He called the lady who just passed our table. The lady walked back to him, "More drinks, please." He said. The lady registered his command and took her leave.
"So, have been seating over there and my eyes were on you girls. I loved the energy you both shared and decided to join your table. Hope I'm welcome?" He asked, smiling at us.
"Sure, you are highly welcomed." Virginia still responded, keeping the same smile.
To think I was beginning to love the outing. Looking at the way things unfurled themselves, I was regretting this. How could she tell a stranger he was welcomed? Was it because he was good-looking and seemed rich?
Thinking I had seen it all, the other dude he was seated with, left his seat and approached our table. He sat close to Virginia and they both exchanged a handshake. We all discussed for a while, and the conversation was going smoothly. Virginia left the table with the other dude and promised to be back in a minute.
I was now left all by myself with Aiden seated very close to me.
His olive eyes kept piercing hard on me, "Do you want more drinks?" He asked after realizing the bottles of drinks he ordered were almost empty.
"No, it's okay for the day." I said honestly.
"You look gorgeous." He said, tucking a strand of my red velvet hair behind my ear.
I exhaled deeply and muttered under my breath before saying, "Thank you."
His presence made me feel uncomfortable. It was best I take a break to the restroom. While trying to cross past him, I stumbled and fell on his legs. He covered me with his muscular arms, his sweet cologne intoxicating my nostrils.
Damn, I'm in the arms of a stranger!
We just kissed!!!
"Be careful, Clarissa." He said, throwing me a smile. Few minutes of interacting and he had registered my name in his memory. After stumbling on him and mistakenly kissing him, I realised I was a little bit tipsy. It was hence time for me to go home. How the hell was I supposed to go back without Virginia? She left with that dude and said she'll be back, now she was nowhere.
"We can book a suit in the closest hotel while waiting for them, I see you are tired." he proposed, and I honestly don't think it was a good idea. But then, what if Virginia got mad at me for going home without her?
"Okay," I accepted his offer.
Thirty minutes later, we walked out of the club. Thankfully, there was a hotel just opposite. He booked a presidential suit which got me worried. I thought we were here just to wait on my friend and his, the moment I relax my muscles. Does he think because I was dressed in an expensive straight-fit gown meant I had money?
"Hey, isn't that expensive?" I asked, my voice growing softer.
"Nope, it isn't. I don't mingle myself with low class." holy Jesus, what other nasty attitude of his was I going to discover?
While I lay on the bed, he got to the bathroom to take a bath. When he came back, his fragrance filled the atmosphere. I thought he was going to take a seat, instead, he slept next to me.
With a towel wrapped beneath his waist and an exposed chest, he mistakenly rubbed his body against mine. This sent shivers down my thighs. Gosh, I was feeling things I had never felt before. Was it because I was tipsy or was there something else going on?
Again, he rubbed himself on me, this time our lips collided together, his sweet fragrance wafting across my nostrils. He parted my lips with his tongue, requesting access to my mouth. I opened it and he sent his tongue in. Next, he kissed my lower lips and explored my mouth. With his hands pressed on my skin, I couldn't help but moan in the kiss.
He grabbed my buttocks and squeezed them while pulling me to his chest.
My one hand held his back head controlling the deep erotic kiss, the other hand explored his body. I removed the towel wrapped under his waist and threw it on the floor.
He wrapped my legs over his waist, kissing every part of my body delicately. He grabbed my one breast and sucked on it, which caused me to moan even louder.
"Fuck, you are so tight!" He said, trying to insert his 10 cm dick in me.
Aiden,TWO HOURS BEFORE GETTING TO ST JOHN'S TOP PLAZA."Here is the contract Sir, please sign them." I shoved the documents to the CEO of resourcing factors Ltd.He was requesting a three-year contract with my company. In this contract, it stated I was going to supply his company with crude oil for the next three years. It was indeed a big achievement. It wasn't easy for a young firm of mine to be the sole supplier of crude oil to an already established firm. The CEO of resourcing factors Ltd held a blue pen and ran his signature in between the lines. A whopping 10 billion deal it was!!!!"That said, we would take our leave. It was a pleasure doing business with your company." We both exchanged a handshake before he dismissed himself.I was exhausted and wanted to get home, take a cold bath and lie on my bed for some hours. I needed to get back to work, sourcing different markets that were ready to consume my products. My office door push opened, revealing the features of Anthony Mil
Clarissa,I groggily opened my eyes and found myself lying in a royal king bed. I felt a dull pain on my forehead as I creased it gently. My vision blurred as I tried opening my eyes, breathing in and out softly. I rubbed my eyes with the back of my palm to help clear my vision.Just then, I realized I was surrounded by blood. Oh no, I gasp and jerked off the bed cover from my petite body. I was naked! Last night was magical, I guess I gasped because it was my first time. After the third round of f***ing in every single damn corner of the room, I slept off.Aiden was not in bed when I got up. I'm sure he went downstairs to command our food. Isn't he romantic? He was the perfect type every woman needed by their side.Getting down from the bed to arrange myself seductively before he returned, I mistakenly pushed the bed cover to the floor. While picking it up, a note flew across. I picked it up and went through it. It stated, 'Let's forget this ever happened!' "What?!" my eyes widened
Aiden,It's been over two days since the incident with the lady at the club occurred. She hasn't cashed out the cheque I deposited at the head bed. Is she trying to play saints? Cause I don't see any person who gets the opportunity to get some money and refuses to grab it Well, I don't give a f*ck if she decides to grab the money or not. The most important thing is I paid her. The last thing I want to see now is her face, cause I'm suffering already for what happened that night. That said, I packed my Bugatti la Voiture noire in the parking lot and got out of there, heading to my office. There's this Toyota Camry I noticed in the garage. It has been following me for quite some days now. I don't know if I'm hallucinating but whatever the case is, I got important things to attend to first. My head is crowded up with stuff, and worst of all, my mum called two hours ago to let me know her private jet will touch down in my city in the next three hours. She was perhaps my mother, but the
Aiden,Not wanting to aggravate the situation at hand, I simply nodded my head in response before moving to my room. I knew the guest she was talking about was non-other than a lady. As usual, she still tried to matchmake me with the daughter of one of her billionaire friends.I took a cold bath. Moving to my closet, I picked out grey pants, a white handless shirt and flipped them on. Next, I strolled down to the living room, I knew she was seated there. She clasped her hands firmly when she saw me walking towards her, "Don't tell me you would be dressed this way for dinner?" she asked surprised by my looks."Mom, please let's not do this tonight." I was tired of the constant dispute with my mom. No day passed without us having an argument.I honestly don't know why she didn't love the clothes I was putting on. It was just dinner, and I honestly don't give a fuck about who she invited over. While trying to make her resonate, we both heard a car hunk outside the gate."Fast, darling. G
Clarissa,TWO MONTHS LATER It's been over two months now since I got my degree. I spent most of my time searching for a decent job. I was tired of working for Paddy Bio, given that it didn't fit what I studied in school. Also, I found it nasty. Two months of submitting my CV in different structures. But each time I walked into any of them, I was asked the same question. "Who sent you here?" Like, if you had no one important in society, you could not work for one of the big companies in the area. Is that what life was all about? I guess a poor, low-key lady like me had no place in society.Unable to find a job for the moment, I was home managing the little cents Virginia left me every morning before going to work. Her attitude towards me changed since the day I spent the night with that good-for-nothing soul. She felt responsible for what happened that night, but I didn't blame her at all. Maybe it was written in my destiny that the person who was going to take my virginity away from
Aiden,The elevator door dings open, with my briefcase in hand, I walked out and quickly reached to my office. I removed my coat jacket and arranged it behind my chair. Next, I went through the already scattered files which were on my table. I had to go through the proposals that I received.I already signed a contract with Mac borel's firm last month. This happened in Singapore. After that, I received another proposal from a oil and gas firm in Thailand, he was requesting a five years contract but he couldn't provide a decent price for my services. I don't work for peanuts. Nope, I don't do that. I already proved to the entire world that my firm has the best service ever. What I find surprising about this is the fact that I have not been paying full attention to my job, especially with my mom who hasn't allowed me to rest by myself since she arrived. Her last visit didn't end well because of the constant harassment from her path and now she's back. The only good thing here is that sh
Clarissa,I'm in the kitchen trying to make something for myself. It's the third time I tried making something, but my stomach won't just accommodate it. I tried taking French toss and tea, but it didn't sink down, I flushed it and made matched potatoes and grilled chicken. Still, my stomach rejected it. I'm now trying to prepare African jellof with enough pepper. Hope the baby will accept it this time, I need him or her to understand that we don't have enough money to live a fancy life. After stewing everything and placing it on fire, I returned quickly to the living room to continue the football match that I paused. The hormones these days are causing terrible things to my system. To the point that I seat in front of the TV and watch football, my baby will surely be a boy."Hey, isn't that something burning?" I heard Virginia's voice from the interior.Hehe, I jumped out of my chair, and before I could realize it, I slipped down the floor. I totally forgot I placed a cup of water on
Charles wale,Have been standing at the other section of the road for the past forty-five minutes, waiting for my so-called brother to show up himself. He walked into the building and have only been seeing him from the glass windows. I don't want to miss a single detail concerning his life.In mid-rise jeans, a button-down shirt, and a baseball cap covering my face. That car belonged to an old friend of mine. If anything happens to it, then I'm good as dead. I promised to pay him double once I sort out this issue. I changed my car because I noticed Aiden had remarked on my Toyota. It was no longer safe for me to walk around with it.Okay, okay… That's him, he just walked out in a silver coat. He was talking to a huge personality, who in turn smiled
Aiden,It’s Monday morning, and I’m looking as hot as hell. This is because I accepted Mrs. Charlotte’s proposal. The proposal of appearing on her next book. Last night, I got an email from her team, requesting some photo shoots for the cover of the book. This is something I’m not quite open to, but for the sake of this project, have got to give it my all. I took some time to go through some of her past achievements and I could tell she really has influence. This is going to help me get the exact influence I have being craving for.Not to say I am not famous. In the city, most of the people know me for the business maniac I am. Apart from my businesses, I haven’t been able to create another life for myself. I just want to prove to my family and the rest of the world that although I ain’t married, I can create a life out of my business.Dressed in a deep crimson trouser, made of silk chiffon, light-coloured shirt and a pair of brown brogues, I glared at myself through the mirror oppo
Clarissa,An alarm ranged annoyingly beside my bed and I angrily slammed the buzzer. I had been sleeping since yesterday at 6 pm trying to run away from what I saw. The little toddler in me made it impossible for me to kill myself in drinking. Hence, drugging myself to a long night sleep was the only option."Damn, my head ache." I let out as I struggled to step down from the bed. My eyes were blurry making it impossible for me to see where I was placing my foot. I had to hold the edge of my bed to help control my steps. After struggling for some minutes, I managed to get to the bathroom. I washed my face, my body and dressed. After which I closed the room door behind me. I was heading to the kitchen to make something for myself. By this time of the day, I’m sure Virginia must have prepared already.“Oh, there you come. I was about to come pick you up. Please seat down and have something.” She said, her voice echoing down my system. This baby I’m carrying has brought a change in Virg
Aiden,The past few days for me has being hell. The Billionaires' Award is coming up in a month, and this whole shit is stressing me out. Not only have I been nominated for three awards, but I'm to host a party after that. Have never experienced this issue before, so I don't know how it works. Not withstanding, I got an invitation from a publishing house. That's where I rendered myself this morning before resuming for work. I must say their offer was tempting and also ridiculous at the same time.Mrs. Charlotte Lamenz, the chief executive officer of Worldwide Publishing Ltc, wants to write a book about my firm. In this book, she wants everything about me to the published.Thinking of it, it was a good and a bad idea. Good because I was going to be exposed to more people than before, but the bad side of it was that I was going to become my haters' object, as through this book, they were going to try by all means to tarnish my reputation.Frankly speaking I had to think about all that b
Clarissa,"Where have you been all this while? Have been searching for you." I asked with annoyance mixed in my speech."I am so sorry that I had to take some distance," Aiden replied nervously. He tilted his hair in an awkward manner."Why did you go so long? Is it that you don't love me?" I halted in my speech and looked in his eyes, to see how he was going to react, "We are both expecting a baby." I placed my hands on my belly and began contouring it in invisible strokes."Do you mean you are expecting my baby? That's good news. Have always wanted to be a father, and I'm glad you are about to give me that opportunity." Aiden said. He took me in his arms."Will you marry me?" He knelt and presented a ring before me.At this point, I heard someone rubbing her hands on my wrist. I gasped before waking up from my long sleep."Oh, calm down darling. What's the matter?" Virginia addressed me. She wore a surprised face."It was just a dream." I placed my hands on my aching head."What dre
Aiden,The weekend has been a long one for me, busy and most especially noisy. I took it as an advantage to renew my wardrobe and run other errands I knew I wouldn't be able to do throughout the week.Mom left one week ago, which gave me that liberty I had been missing. My countenance was filled with surprise when I spotted Miller and Gabriel shopping in the same boutique as me."Aiden, is that you?" Gabriel stated. His grin widened as he watched me with surprise written all over his face."Yes, as you can see for yourself." I said firmly."Long time no see. How many years is that? That should be three years ago." He said, his face covered with smirks."Yeah! You are right, it's been three years." I said annoyance mixed in my speech.Gabriel is an old friend from the university. We attended the same schools and even started a business together. That's when we were very young and naive. At that time, we were just trying to follow our parents steps who were all billionaires. After the f
