Alessia’s Pov

Madam Claudia tilted her head, as if considering something. Then, instead of answering, she simply smiled.

A slow, knowing smile.

I tensed.

“I suppose the truth is… complicated,” she murmured.

I let out a frustrated breath. “So that’s it? You’re just going to keep playing this game with me?”

She reached out then, gently brushing a strand of hair from my face. It was such an unfamiliar gesture that I froze, my body stiffening at the sudden intimacy of it.

And then she said, “Some truths are better left unknown. For now.”

My stomach twisted.

I turned to Andrea, hoping for some kind of answer, some kind of anything—but he avoided my gaze.

That was when I knew.

Something was being kept from me.

Something big.

And I had no idea if I was ready to know what it was.

Madam Claudia took a step back, her expression unreadable once more.

“Get some rest, Alessia,” she said smoothly. “You’ll need it.”

And with that, she turned and disappeared into the mansion.

How—how did it happen.” “I—I thought maybe he was still breathing, so I ran to him,” she continued, sniffling. “But he was cold, Alessia. Cold. His eyes were open, but they weren’t looking at me. I shook him, I begged him to wake up, but—” Her voice cracked. “He’s gone.” Tears burned at the back of my eyes. Marcello—Giulia—was many things. A man with secrets I didn’t understand. But to Sophia, he was just Marcello. And she had loved him, because he gave her job when others didn't. I gripped the phone tighter, trying to keep my voice steady. “I’m so sorry, Sophia.” “I don’t—I don’t understand,” she whispered. “Why would someone do this? Marcello wasn’t a bad person. He wasn’t involved in any of that mafia stuff, right? Right?” I felt like my throat was closing. What was I supposed to say? That the man who saved her by giving her a job had been living a double life? That he had kidnapped me, threat

Alessia’s PovI nodded, not trusting myself to speak. The strange tension in the room was thick enough to cut with a knife.Madam Claudia looked over at me, her voice gentle but insistent. “Alessia, I’m sure you’re wondering what’s going on.” She paused, then smiled. “The whole Claudia empire is getting ready for a bit of fun. A rising shareholder wants to show his appreciation for the work we’ve done. And by that, he’s decided to treat us all.”My mind raced. What was going on? Rising shareholder? Treat us all?I swallowed the lump in my throat. “What exactly is going on?” I asked, trying to keep my voice steady, though inside I felt anything but. “I mean, why are bags being packed? Where are we going?”Madam Claudia’s lips curved into a tight smile. “Ah, yes. The shareholder—he wants us all to have a little celebration. A special event, if you will. He’s decided to buy an entire island where the Claudia empire can have fun for three days.”She paused for a moment, letting the

Alessia’s Pov The mansion was alive with movement. Everywhere I turned, people were rushing—maids carrying silk gowns and designer shoes, security personnel whispering into earpieces, and staff checking off last-minute details from long lists. The air buzzed with anticipation, yet beneath the glamour, something felt… off.I stood on the grand staircase, watching as expensive suitcases were lined up near the entrance. Andrea and Madam Claudia were deep in conversation with their uncle, their expressions carefully neutral but with an edge of tension.I should have been excited. This was no ordinary trip—it was the event of the year for the Claudia Empire. But instead of anticipation, a knot of unease settled in my stomach. The moment I stepped away from the chaos in the mansion, I pulled out my phone and scrolled to Luca’s number. My fingers hesitated over the call button for a brief second before I pressed it. The line rang. Once. Twice. Then, finally—“What?”I blinked. No gree

Alessia’s PovThe cars pulled up to the docks, where the yacht awaited. It was enormous, all sleek lines and polished wood, its white hull cutting a sharp contrast against the deep blue of the ocean. The crew snapped to attention as Madam Claudia stepped out of her car, her mask firmly in place, projecting an aura of command that made everyone straighten their spines.Andrea offered me his hand, and I took it, allowing him to help me out of the car. The breeze carried the salty tang of the sea, and I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart.“Ready for an adventure?” he whispered in my ear, his breath warm against my skin.“Let’s hope it doesn’t turn into a disaster,” I replied, forcing a smile. His eyes gleamed with mischief. “With us, it’s bound to be a bit of both.”As we boarded the yacht, I couldn’t shake the feeling that this trip would be anything but a simple celebration. I glanced back at the dock, half-expecting to see Luca standing there, watching us with that

Alessia’s Pov"This is paradise” I muttered as we stepped off the yacht. “Golden sands, crystal waters... it’s like a postcard come to life.”Andrea snorted. “Yeah, until you notice the cracks in the veneer.”I glared at him. “Cracks? What cracks?”He grinned. “The excess, Alessia. Look around—luxurious villas, lavish meals, poker games, and hushed whispers every time you walk by. This isn’t just a vacation, it’s a carefully staged show.”I crossed my arms. “I know what I’m seeing, Andrea. .”But as breathtaking as it was, I couldn’t shake the gnawing feeling in my gut. From the moment we arrived, the guests wasted no time indulging in excess. Lavish meals were served under grand, candlelit canopies, laughter spilling into the air as drinks flowed freely. Some were already gathered around poker tables, the tension thick with unspoken wagers far beyond money. Others whispered in hushed voices, their conversations cut short whenever I walked by.I wasn’t stupid. This wasn’t just

  • A love forged in Darkness and Desire    No Way Out

Alessia’s PovThe night air was thick with the scent of salt and burning torches, the festival still roaring behind us as we reached the docks. The laughter and music felt distant—irrelevant—compared to the chilling sight before us. All the boats were gone. My stomach twisted. I blinked hard, as if my eyes were playing tricks on me, but the reality remained unchanged. The once-crowded docks, where sleek yachts and wooden boats had lined up just hours ago, were now an endless stretch of empty space. “What the hell?” I whispered, stepping forward. " If this is their idea of fun, this isn’t fun—it’s terrifying! I’m scared, Andrea. This isn’t what I signed up for. I came here expecting luxury and escape, not... this.”Andrea sighed. “Look, I don’t have all the answers either. But we have to stay calm. Right now, we need to figure out what happened to the boats, maybe they went to bring other passengers or maybe they were stolen my sea pirates ”I shook my head, my eyes filling wit

Alessia’s PovA sharp, mocking laugh that cut through the tension like a blade.“Really?” she scoffed, crossing her arms. “The killer conveniently leaves my cufflink by the body? Are you all actually entertaining this?”Andrea narrowed his eyes. “Then explain why it’s here.”“Because someone wants to frame me, obviously,” she snapped. “I may be many things, but a careless murderer? Please.”Her arrogance grated on my nerves. But she wasn’t wrong. It was too obvious. Too easy.A planted clue.Yet, the whispers had already started.“She’s covering for herself.”“She’s acting like this is a joke.”“What if she really did it?”I glanced around, noticing how the room’s atmosphere had shifted. Even Marco, loyal and professional, seemed to hesitate.Madam Claudia’s amusement faded. Her blue eyes sharpened, scanning the faces around her.“Oh, I see what’s happening,” she murmured, voice dripping with amusement. “You’re all looking at me like I have something to hide.”Andrea tensed beside me.

Mia's Pov (Eva's friend)Eva stormed ahead of me, her heels clicking aggressively against the stone path as we left the festival behind. The dimly lit gardens stretched around us, vines crawling up marble columns, the distant waves crashing against the shore. The night air was humid, thick with tension. She hadn’t stopped ranting since we left.“I knew something was off about this entire trip!” Eva seethed, her voice sharp, cutting through the stillness. “First, all the damn boats disappear, then that man is murdered, and now Madam Claudia—that woman—wants us all to smile and clap for some stupid wedding while we’re literally trapped on a secluded island with a killer?”I sighed, rubbing my temple. “Eva, I know. But maybe—”“No, don’t you dare ‘maybe’ me, Mia,” she snapped, whirling around to face me. “You saw how Claudia reacted. She didn’t care. She barely blinked when we found a dead body! Andrea's Pov The flashbang’s blinding light faded slowly, leaving the room steeped in disorienting darkness and a heavy silence that draped over us like a shroud. I could barely see anything, but I could feel the adrenaline surging in my veins and the pounding in my head from the attack. For several long seconds, the only sound was my own ragged breathing and the echo of the shattered window where our masked attacker had escaped. When my vision cleared enough, I saw Sophia crouched near the desk, her gun still raised but trembling; I could feel my arm throbbing from the deep wound, blood seeping through my sleeves. The room reeked of smoke, sweat, and fear.“Are you alright?” I asked, my voice low and urgent as I stepped toward Sophia. She nodded, swallowing hard, her eyes wide and alert.“This was no random attack,” she murmured, her tone edged with grim determination. “They knew exactly what they were doing.”I scanned the room, feeling the eerie emptiness in the corners. Andrea's Pov I stormed out of Alessia’s room, my heart pounding with frustration and something heavier—guilt. She had every right to be angry, every right to feel betrayed. But damn it, I had never lied to her, not truly. Keeping a secret wasn’t the same as deception. Or maybe, just maybe, I was only fooling myself.I raked a hand through my hair as I made my way down the dimly lit hallway toward my room. My mind was a tangled mess of thoughts, but something else nagged at the edges of my senses. A strange, creeping unease slithered into my gut. It felt like a storm rolling in—silent, inevitable, charged with something unseen. As I reached my door, I hesitated. The air was off. It smelled different—thicker, colder. There was a faint metallic scent lingering in the air, like rust… or blood. My body tensed instinctively. I pressed my hand against the door, feeling its surface. Cool. Too cool.Slowly, I turned the knob and stepped inside. The first thing I noticed was the silence—t

Alessia's Pov The moment I stepped into my room, I slammed the door shut behind me, leaning against it as I struggled to breathe. My chest felt tight, my mind spinning.Sophia.Sophia was Madam Claudia. How? How?I let out a harsh, shaky breath, pacing the length of my room. My fists clenched at my sides as I tried to piece together the impossible truth. It didn’t make sense. It didn’t align with anything I knew about her.Sophia—my Sophia—had been poor. She had come to me desperate for a job, practically begging at Marcello’s bar. She had been struggling, scraping by. And now I was supposed to believe she was the woman who had been pulling all the strings from behind a mask? The woman who had orchestrated everything, controlled everyone?I let out a bitter laugh, but it was hollow.I wanted to believe that I was mistaken, that I was seeing things. Maybe I was still drunk, still disoriented from everything that had happened. Maybe the chaos in the hall had clouded my judgment.

Elena’s dramatic outburst had already shaken the foundation of the event, but just as I thought things might settle, another disturbance was brewing. From the center of the crowd, a man—tall, with streaks of silver in his hair and a sharp, authoritative gaze—stood abruptly. His voice carried through the hall, commanding immediate attention."This farce has gone on long enough!" he declared, his tone laced with anger and conviction. "Madam Claudia is no longer fit to lead. This entire operation has turned into chaos under her rule!"Murmurs of agreement spread like wildfire. The guests, who had been silently processing the recent turn of events, now had something to latch onto—something tangible. The man took a few steps forward, his confidence unwavering. My mind was slow to catch up, memories scattered like puzzle pieces waiting to be put back together. And then it hit me.Luca.The bar. The drunken rambling. Vomiting on him. Suddenly, I feel his mouth open wide, sucking as much of my breast into his mouth as he can. My hips start to buck, pushing up against his, and I feel his hand move down between my legs.Oh my god, it hadn’t occurred to me he’d do this. I’d only imagined simple things, kissing and touching, in the very brief fantasy that had entered my brain as I walked away from the bar. Logically, of course, this shouldn’t be a surprise, but somehow it is, and now the idea that his hand is going to be on my pussy is overwhelming. Hands, and what else? Tongue? Mouth? His dick? The very notion has my lower body aching, and I can feel myself squirming, moving, pushing my hips up to meet his hand.he lifts his head from my breast then, his lips wet and pink, and he watches my face as his hand presses between my legs.“You like it, don’t

He didn’t say anything, just poured me another drink.I exhaled sharply. “But this isn’t about Luca. No, no, no, it’s about this island and how nothing makes sense. Do you know how many people have died since I got here?” I squinted, trying to count, but the numbers blurred in my head. “It’s a lot. And it’s all connected. Madam Claudia, the missing boats, the whispers in the dark—” I paused, leaning in dramatically. “And now people are leaving threats under doors. Under doors! Can you believe that?”The bartender’s lips twitched like he was trying not to smile. “Not funny,” I grumbled. He nodded, as if agreeing, though I doubted he was even fully listening.
