Chapter 67

"You're right; I'd better wait," I reply, resigned.

Fabián offers a small, thankful smile and then leaves. I walk to my desk, and as soon as I get there, I slump into my chair, feeling defeated.

I'm not sure how long I'll have to wait, but while I wait for them to finish their discussion, I might as well work on some pending tasks. I suppose I must have quite a few since I haven't been to the company in nearly a week. However, I didn't completely abandon my responsibilities; I worked from home and sent over anything that needed to be taken care of to Maggi, who acted as an intermediary between Daniel and me while I was away.

It takes me longer than expected to finish some files that need to be sent to the advertising department. There's no way I'm going to the department in person. So, I call Maggi; she answers promptly and says she'll come as soon as she's done with some important fraction sheets that can't wait.
