Chapter 50

Going back to that house again, I didn’t want to, but I also couldn’t tell Daniel what his mother had said to me that day. I should have done it at that moment, but I doubted he would believe me, and I was afraid of looking like a lying snake instead of his mother.

I still don’t understand what her problem is with me. I never gave her any reason for it, and she’s seen me very few times since she rarely visits the company. Even when her husband spent most of the day there, she hardly ever showed up.

Daniel finishes driving down the concrete path and parks his Mercedes behind another car located almost at the entrance.

As usual, we get out, holding hands, and walk toward the house. This time, we take a different route. There’s a black, half-metal fence with spiral designs on top, giving it a nice touch.

But before we reach it, we stop, and unexpectedly, Daniel grabs me by the hips, pulls me close, and plants a quick kiss on my lips.
