Annabel’s pov

I should knock since I am here already, but I can't help but feel nervous about this whole thing. Why does he want to see me? Did I do something wrong again? All these thoughts clouded my mind, I decided to muster the courage and knock on his door.

I knocked gently on the door, receiving an immediate reply but what I saw as soon as the door was opened shocked me. A half naked girl stood in front of the door, giving me a weird stare. Did he call me in here to try and insult me? What the actual hell is this?

“Who are you?” She asked glaring at me. I guess she is a dumb one, is she that blind that she couldn’t see my uniform.

“I am the new housekeeper” I answered , rolling my eyes.

“What do you want?” She rudely asks, i want to smash your head on the wall, that is exactly what I wanted.

“I got a call that Sir Andrew wanted to see me” I remotely answered.

“Whatever i don’t care” she shut the door on my face. What a rude bastard, how dare she do that to me. I stood in fron

"You should leave now," Andrew ordered the stripper, his voice filled with a mix of annoyance and urgency. The stripper, whose name he didn't even bother to learn, felt a pang of reluctance. She had hoped to spend a little more time with Andrew, as she sensed his initial enjoyment."Did you hear what I said? I want you to leave," he yelled, his tone growing louder and more intimidating. The stripper's body tensed, and fear crept into her eyes. She realised that her time with Andrew had come to an abrupt end."I thought I did great. You seemed to be having the best time of your life just minutes ago," she said, attempting to regain control of the situation. Her voice carried a seductive smile, hoping to change his mind."All I wanted was to reach my climax, and now that I have, get the fuck out of here," Andrew cursed at her, his frustration and anger evident. With a mixture of annoyance and disappointment, the stripper reluctantly left the room, leaving Andrew alone with his thoughts.

Andrew's gaze fixed upon his brother, sensing the palpable tension enveloping the room. Determined to break through whatever thoughts plagued Albert, he spoke up, "Why are you looking like that? It's just the housekeeper."Albert snapped out of his reverie, his mind refocusing on the present. "You can come in," Andrew called out, granting permission for the housekeeper, Annabel, to enter.Upon hearing Andrew's approval, Annabel cautiously stepped into the room, her gaze lowered, avoiding direct eye contact with the brothers. "Madam asked me to call both of you for breakfast," she calmly stated, still avoiding their gaze."That's alright, we'll be down in a minute," Albert replied with a warm smile. "And there's no need for you to keep your gaze down when talking to us," he added, earning a sidelong glance from Andrew."It's okay if she wants to maintain her gaze down; it simply shows respect," Andrew said, chuckling softly as he observed Annabel, still with her eyes fixed on the floor

Albert, feeling the weight of the situation, desperately searched for the right words to extricate himself."Ohh, your housekeeper, right?" Tracy asked, seeking confirmation of her assumption."Yes, my housekeeper," Albert stuttered, his words stumbling out. "She always makes mistakes with my breakfast, and that's why I called her name," he explained, feeling awkward.Tracy smiled and said, "That's alright then. No crabs for you, I suppose." However, Albert couldn't shake off a sense of discomfort at Tracy's response."Doesn't it bother you that I called you someone else?" he asked, attempting to understand her reaction."It was a mistake, and I understand," she replied, offering a reassuring smile. "What do you think about steaks, then?" she asked, trying to redirect the conversation."That would be fine," Albert replied, grateful for the change of subject."Alright, then," she said. Tracy promptly informed the waiter of their order, and within a few minutes, their food arrived. As t

Annabel's POV:As I listened to my friend excitedly suggest double dates with our husbands, I couldn't help but feel a bit overwhelmed. Personal space seemed to be a foreign concept to her. Did I look like someone who would enjoy spending my free time with others, especially if I had a husband?"Thanks for the kind gestures, but I don't think I would love to spend my free time with someone other than my husband," I politely declined her offer, wearing a smile on my face."That's too bad then. We would have had a lot of fun," she responded, sounding a little disappointed with my reply."Maybe next time," I said, trying to lift her spirits a bit. She gave me a slight smile in return.Leaving the kitchen, I made my way back to my room, still holding the money in my hands. As I stared at it, I couldn't help but think of how proud my parents would be that I had earned my first paycheck, all thanks to Juliet. Andrew's POVI knew I had to intervene before things spiraled out of control. Annabel was clearly intoxicated, her judgment impaired, and it was never my style to take advantage of someone in that state."Why did you stop? I really like it," she whined, her words slurring."You're drunk, Annabel, and you need to get home now," I said firmly, my tone commanding."No, I don't want to go home. This is my day off, and I choose to have as much fun as possible," she insisted, her words a jumbled mess. Despite her drunken state, I couldn't help but find her cute in a vulnerable sort of way."Stand still. You're going to hurt yourself," I said, reaching out to steady her as she teetered dangerously."Oops, sorry," she giggled without any apparent reason. "I want to tell you something," she added, moving closer to me. Intrigued, I braced myself for whatever foolishness she was about to utter, given her level of intoxication."What do you want to say?" I asked, genuinely curious."Just come clo

Albert’s POVAndrew is still not ready. My patience thins with every passing second as I check my watch again, exhaling sharply. The morning air is crisp, but irritation burns hotter under my skin. Finally, the door creaks open, and Andrew steps out, adjusting his cufflinks like he has all the time in the world. A wave of relief washes over me, quickly replaced by annoyance.“I told you to be early,” I say, my tone clipped, frustration lacing every word.He grins, unapologetic. “All I can say is that I’m sorry. No excuse.” He strides past me and slides into the car, leaving me to roll my eyes before getting in myself.Settling into my seat, I immediately pull out the documents, flipping through them with practiced efficiency. The low hum of the engine fills the space between us as I make last-minute adjustments, my focus narrowing in on the numbers and projections. Andrew’s POV My mind raced as I stared at Annabel, my throat tightening. What the hell do I even say to her? I hadn’t meant for this to happen—not like this. I should’ve been more careful. I should’ve thought this through. But now? I was caught. And by the look in her eyes, she wasn’t about to let me off easy.“Annabel, listen to me,” I said, keeping my tone calm, but my voice felt tight in my throat. She folded her arms across her chest, her gaze sharp and expectant, waiting for me to speak. But the truth was, I had nothing. Absolutely nothing. “I don’t know what to say,” I admitted, breaking eye contact as guilt settled in my stomach. Her breath hitched, and when she spoke again, her voice was thick with disbelief. “You have to be kidding me right now. You did this, and now you have nothing to say?” Her fingers clenched into fists at her sides. “You knew I wasn’t married this whole time?”“Not the whole time,” I muttered, shifting uncomfortably. “But I figured it out not too long a

Annabel’s POVI still can’t understand how he can afford this restaurant. Everything about this place screams luxury—the elegant chandeliers, the soft classical music, and the neatly dressed waiters gliding across the room. The prices on the menu must be outrageous, and yet, he sits there so casually, flipping through the pages like it’s nothing.I stare at him, trying to figure him out, but before I can stop myself, our eyes meet. Embarrassed, I quickly look away, pretending to be focused on something else. Just then, a waiter arrives and places a glass of water in front of us. I hesitate to take a sip. What if he actually can’t afford anything here? What if we end up getting kicked out? The last thing I want is public humiliation.“What would you like to eat?” he asks, pulling me out of my thoughts. His voice startles me, and I flinch slightly.“I—uh…” I hesitate, unsure of what to say.“Is there anything you’d like?” he asks again, waiting patiently.“Not really. I don’t want to ea

My boss had bought the act—I had gotten away with it.I turned to the man beside me, my lips curving into a grateful smile. "Thank you so much for this. You have no idea what you just did. I was able to save my job all because of you." My fingers tightened around the strap of my bag. "I owe you a big one. Just send me your account number, and I’ll transfer your payment."He didn’t move, didn’t even acknowledge my offer at first. Instead, a smirk played at the corners of his lips."I don’t need your money, madam." His voice was smooth, casual, as if helping me had been nothing but a minor favor. Then, he took a step closer.Instinctively, I stepped back. His smirk deepened. "But tell me," he continued, tilting his head slightly, "do you plan to keep up this lie about being married forever?"A frown pulled at my brows. Why does he care?"I don’t thi

Andrew, attempting to maintain an air of mystery, smoothly shifted his glass before settling in next to Julie. A silent exchange of glances between Annabel and Julie revealed their mutual confusion. Annabel inquired, "What's going on?" with a lingering tone, and Julie, equally bewildered, shrugged in response. As Andrew took a deliberate sip, he cleared his throat, adjusting his voice pitch to conceal his identity. A concealed smirk adorned his face beneath the mask as he disclosed, "I heard you guys need someone to act like a fake husband." Julie, momentarily taken aback, blinked twice before responding, "Yes, we do. We actually need someone to act as her husband for a day," pointing at Annabel, who was fixated on Andrew. Andrew, now visibly perplexed, continued to scratch the back of his head as he approached the table behind the coffee shop. "Annabel, where are you?" he called out, unaware of the clandestine activity transpiring just inches away. His eyebrows raised inquisitively as he surveyed the area, considering the possibility that she might be hiding. "Could she be behind this table?" he mused aloud, taking a cautious step forward as his eyes scanned the surroundings. Why is he coming here?" Her eyes widened with concern, scanning Andrew's every move. Julie, caught off guard by the sudden urgency, questioned, "What's going on, Annabel? Why are we hiding?" But this mission wasn’t just about typical friend talks. Restless, Annabel got up, pacing her room. “How do I ask Mrs. Jones to let me see Julie and talk about our plan for finding a fake husband?” she wondered, gently stroking her chin. The situation felt serious, full of uncertainty. In a moment of contemplation, Annabel's phone interrupted the solitude with its insistent ringing. Her eyes darted to the device resting on her bedside table, and without hesitation, she reached for it. The caller ID revealed Julie's name, and a sense of urgency compelled her to answer swiftly. Julie's voice burst forth from the speaker, a cacophony of excitement. "Get down here quick! I've found someone perfect for the job!"
