Iori walked down the corridor looking at her tablet. She had to hurry if she was going to meet Akagi-sama by the door.

It had been a hectic 24 hours she’d spent on organizing and coordinating everything from scratch. The gathering was going to be held in the main house’s venue so there wasn’t a problem with navigating between the venue and the house preparing for both the gathering and Akagi-sama’s arrival.

“Iori-sama, the car just made its way through the gate,” Said Nanami through her earbud and Iori hurried her steps.

“Is everyone in their places? Are father and Haruki there?” Iori asked

“Yes, both of them are waiting by the main door,”

“Okay, thank you! I’m on my way,” Iori said removing the earbud and making her way toward the entrance her kimono hindering her steps.

She arrived Just as the car appeared in front of them and her father gave her a smile,

Iori opened the note in her hands and immediately smiled. She just couldn’t help it with him…“I knew that you would be so busy that you’re going to end up forgetting about the dress for the gathering. I chose the dress that I thought looked the best on you when you tried it. Although I’m sure, it would pale in comparison to your beauty, it’s still the only close match I could find.PS: Can’t wait to finally see you tomorrow, I already miss you,Jun~”Iori’s eyes welled up with tears and she held them back trying not to make a mess out of her face right before the gathering. Jun drove toward the grand wooden gate illuminated with lights to welcome the incoming guests as they made their way up the beautiful path with huge and well-maintained gardens on either side of the path. As his car, made its way toward the door, his heart seized with uncertainty as he saw the guard eyeing him for a moment. What made him think that he would be welcome into the Satou household after everything Iori had told his father? What made him think that her family would let him inside her house. “If you would please wait for a moment,” Said the guard politely before retreating back and speaking into his earphones. “You’re nervous,” Commented the old man from beside him making Jun mentally jump. Damn, he had forgotten about his presence in the car. “Of course I am. After everything she told you, it’s a wonder that a pack of lawyers didn’t hound your office as soon as she hung up on you,” “Iori wouldn’t do that to me…” His father said with

Jun was seducing her, and she wouldn’t be so against it if they didn’t have a serious discussion pending between them and a party full of people awaiting their arrival.“You were drunk and feverish, no wonder you d

Kaoru asked as he passed by him,Jun smiled at Iori's younger brother and nodded, "She's getting ready. will be down any minute""Haruki told me everything. Jun wanted to be anywhere else except where he was now. It’s true that he decided to face everything with Iori, to fight for her, but this wasn’t something he bargained for. He hadn’t expected Lady Akagi to have this kind of presence, this kind of aura that forced respect upon you as if it was a ritual ingrained in you since childhood. Just meeting the older lady’s gaze too considerable mental effort, it was as if she had him under some kind of mental compulsion or mind control. When Iori had said that she wouldn’t let her make him cry, he had seriously thought that she was joking. After all, no one would be expected to cry while meeting their girlfriend’s grandparents, or in this case great aunt… Her ‘I’m serious’ comment shook him a little bit, but it was nothing compared to when he stood before the older woman. A few inches shorter than him, yet, with the presence of someone who could dominate this whole room full of people without lifting a finger. And sh

Iori knew what was going to happen but there was nothing she could have done to stop it. She wasn’t sure she would have stopped him even if she knew how. But still, she went ahead and said it anyway.Jun rose to his feet looking down at her aunt his posture barely betraying the rage she knew he was feeling. His eyes never left her aunt as he did so looking at her with cold eyes that could have been mistaken for neutral if it wasn’t for her the gleam of fire shooting from them.Jun was angry on her behalf, and she couldn’t help but feel a little twitch in her heart at the thought. Iori leaned against the wooden walls of her room in the mountain estate her eyes on the scenery in front of her, the beautiful cascades of the mountain forest views as they peeked through the misty presence that always seemed to cover the mountain early in the morning left Iori breathless whenever she looked at it.Usually, this view was enough to make her feel so fulfilled and empowered that she could take on anything that may come her way. But these days she couldn’t help but note the loneliness that was taking root in her heart. Her mind kept wandering to Jun and wondering how he was doing, how his meeting with Tohru’s father went. Since he had contacted her to ask if she arrived well there had been no signal from him. It’s been three days since then. Iori’s phone had been taken away two days ago.
