She said as she reached out to Sierra, who took it hesitantly.

She must be wondering why my godmother would be a witch and why we are familiar with one, given the recent circumstances.

"Tell me, dear. Did the alpha mutt tell you how he and my dear goddaughter started their relationship?" Eleanor asked.

"Eleanor... No," I warned her as Aaron released a threatening growl. My anger matched Aaron's because of her inappropriate conversation topic.

"Oh, I... heard something, but it's hard to believe seeing the way Alpha Gagliardi takes care of his mate," Sierra innocently replied, walking straight into her trap.

"Well, you'd be surprised to know—"

I didn't let Eleanor finish. I created a gust of wind to fly through a pile of dry leaves and land right on her face.

"Oh my... Eleanor, are you okay? Where did this sudden wind come from? Come on, let me take you inside and clean you up," I said as I grabbed her arms and guided her into the pack house.

I winked at Aaron, who laughed at what I did

"Aaron." I smiled. Relieved. "I thought you weren't going to show up.""Sorry, baby. Got caught up with something. You look stunning," he replied as he tucked a strand of hair behind my ear and then leaned in to kiss my lips. I was almost distracted by it when I saw Eleanor standing at the back door, arms crossed over her chest, disapprovingly watching us.Why was she so agitated and irritated with everything lately? I thought she wanted me to accept Aaron as my mate. Wait, were they together?"Now entering. Alpha Aaron Fortier Gagliardi and our future Luna, Chloe Craton." Our names were announced, and Aaron pulled me by the arm to follow him onto the stage. I was so distracted by Eleanor that I had forgotten I was about to face the entire pack as their future Luna for the first time. Nerves took over me immediately as everyone applauded and cheered when my name was announced, and my legs felt like they would give way any moment.Don't stumble now, Rory, Rhea chuckled, making me take

Wendell was strong and fast, but I was fierce and determined. We attacked each other, exchanging blows and strikes.Rhea's power surged through me, and I used it to my advantage. I leaped at Wendell, knocking him down. He growled and tried to bite me, but I was too quick. As we fought, I noticed Wendell's brother lurking in the shadows. Seizing the opportunity, I attacked him, bringing him down.I pinned him, my sharp claws digging into his flesh. "Cancel your spells, Wendell," I snarled. "Or your brother dies." Wendell hesitated for a moment, then relented. The dark shroud of gas dissipated, and I threw his brother to our men.Aaron looked at me sideways, but the battle was complete now, and he couldn't come to help even if he wanted. "Rory," he shouted. "Stay calm!" I couldn't. I stood at the forefront of the battle, my heart pounding with fear and

"You must learn who you are first, Chloe. Because you are special. You are my own blood and bone and have a great destiny ahead."A shiver ran down my spine. "What destiny?" Selene smiled. "To rule with love, Chloe. Love is the key to everything. It's the only thing that can transcend all boundaries, all planes of existence." I was intrigued. "But how can I find true love?" Selene stroked my cheek. Her fingers were like silk threads. "You have already done that, Chloe. You just haven't realized it yet. Think about the people around you. Think about the ways you would protect and cherish them."Aaron. Ema. Montana. All the people who stayed and perished, solely for love of me. Just because they wanted me to see the light and live in it. I felt warmth spreading through my body. "Thank you, Selene. But what about my powers? I haven't mastered all of them yet." Selene nodded. "Your powers are part of you, Chloe. They are a gift from me, and you must learn to use them wisely. But remember,

I took a step forward, my fangs bared. "You will talk," I said, my voice low and threatening. "Or we'll have to resort to other methods."Alastor's eyes widened in fear as Max grabbed his injured hand. "We can always wash your wounds with saltwater," Max threatened. "Or perhaps let some of the other wolves here do as they please with you."Alastor shuddered in pain as Max tightened his grip. "Okay, okay," he finally yielded. "I'll talk."I took a step forward, eager to hear what Alastor had to say. "Tell us everything you know," I commanded."Wendell has been working with human hunters and witches," Alastor said, his voice low and trembling. "They are planning to exterminate the entire wolf race. He's hiding in Fairbanks, in a small underground laboratory. He's working on a serum that will make the wolf race weak and vulnerable."My blood boiled with anger as I listened to Alastor. "We need to stop him," I said to Max. "I'll talk to Chloe."As Max left to gather the backpack, I turned

Our hands rose to embrace each other, mine firmly entwined around her waist. She sighed my name. **Chloe"You may have power, Wendell," I said, "but I have something you'll never understand. I have loyalty, love, and the strength of my pack behind me." With a roar, Wendell attacked me, his eyes blazing with fury. But I held my ground, ready to face him head-on.We clashed, each of us using all our strength to gain an advantage. Wendell was a formidable opponent, but I refused to back down. As we fought, I could feel Rhea vibrating in my chest. She was eager to join the battle, eager to sink her teeth into our enemy. Finally, Wendell stumbled, and I saw my chance. With a flick of my wrist, I sent a fireball at him. It hit him square in the chest, and he fell to the ground, writhing in agony. I approached him cautiously, my heart heavy with the knowledge of what I had done. I never wanted to kill, but sometimes the only answer to evil is to end it."Why, Wendell?" I asked, my voice softening. "Why did you do all this?" AARON"Rory!" I shouted, following behind. I wasn't going to let her face the witches alone! But the witches weren't doing anything. Instead, they just looked at her with confusion in their eyes."Who are you?" one of them asked."It was me who put an antidote vial in your dinner and made it taste bland. I'm sorry for that," she straightened her shoulders. "Wendell was poisoning you.""I knew it," said the witch we heard seconds ago. "Poison ivy and nightshade."Chloe nodded breathlessly. "We have more antidote. We can give it to you and help your kind heal." The witches were now listening attentively."All I ask is that you return to our pack mansion and help us. We're under attack by Wendell and his hunters. We need your strength.""What do we gain from this? Otherwise, you won't give us the antidote?" Chloe threw our entire stock to them. I almost shouted, but I kept my composure."That's yours," she said. "I would never hide it from you. You deserve to be whole. I just want you to

The trees seemed to close in around me, their branches twisting and turning like gnarled fingers. The air was thick with the smell of damp earth and decomposing leaves. A low-lying mist hovered, obscuring my vision and making navigation on the winding path ahead challenging. It was as if the forest were alive, watching every move I made, waiting for me to let my guard down.A strange energy pulsed in the air, a low, almost inaudible hum impossible to ignore. Sometimes, the mist would dissipate, revealing glimpses of strange and deformed trees that seemed to have been shaped by ancient magic.Whispers in the wind, voices that seemed to call my name. It was as if I had stumbled upon a secret world, a place where the veil between the living and the dead was thin and permeable. The sun began to set, casting long shadows on the forest floor. "Let's camp here," Aaron whispered, uneasy. "It would be imprudent to hunt witches in the middle of the night." Nodding, I anointed the grass around h

ChloeThe trees towered above me, their branches stretching towards the sky. The scent of wildflowers filled the air. But as I ventured deeper into the forest, a sense of unease crept over me. Perhaps exploring alone wasn't such a good idea.I froze; my heart raced as a branch snapped in the undergrowth. I waited to see what would emerge. Then, without warning, a massive black wolf emerged from a bush and advanced straight toward me. With my heart pounding, I braced for the worst. But as the wolf approached, it stopped and looked at me with a gentle, almost human-like light in its eyes. Before I could react, it turned and disappeared into the depths of the forest. What was that? What just happened? My mind was a maze as I returned to the castle.I walked down the corridor towards the east wing, excitement building in my chest. Whatever happened, the library had become my sanctuary. I couldn't wait to explore the opulent space, rich in history and knowledge.Passing through the heavy w

The world was bathed in a golden light, and there, at the end of what seemed to be a vast meadow, were my mother and Selene, holding hands. I approached them, my heart full of admiration."Good job." My mother smiled. "We knew you could do it."Selene clapped her hands. "And now, because you believed, you've opened yourself to the greatest gift of all." My eyes gleamed as she handed me a ring with a unique moonstone."Whenever times get tough, dear daughter, plant your lips on this stone," she whispered, placing the ring on my index finger. This will connect your heart to mine through a silvery thread.I was momentarily blinded by the ring's glow, then my mother tenderly kissed my forehead. In this realm, she was very tangible."It's time for you to go."I looked at her eagerly, savoring every little detail. I had to store her in my memory, to cling to every bit of beauty her form contained."I wish I could take you with me." This was the child in me, saying things that reflected the
