A brisk knock at the door interrupted October, who was deep in thought. She rushed over to it and flung the door open to see a short, stubby man standing there with his pig nose held high in the air.

"Yes?" October raised a brow at him.

He cleared his throat before speaking. "Lady October, you are wanted downstairs. Master Alistair wishes to speak with you before he leaves.''

October bit her tongue from laughing at the high pitch squeaky sound his voice made.

"Lady October," the man said again.

"Its just October," she told him. "And where is Alistair going?"

"He will tell you when you get there."

October dragged on a pair of sneakers, then left the room, wondering what the great urgency was.

"I have never been requested downstairs before," October said, but the man didn't reply.

"This place should have an elevator and electricity." October complained after walking for a while.

The man just walked on, not paying October much attention.

She stopped when she got to the top of the stairs.
