"My King, I am sorry to disturb you," the man placed a news paper in front of Alistair, "and your family will return soon."

Alistair waved the man off, then sipped from his glass full of blood. He looked at the image and read the article.

'After nearly a month, there is still no sign of October Summer. Her father is to hold a press conference later today.' Alistair dropped the paper on the floor.

"You should let her talk to them." Dave walked out of the shadows to stop before Alistair's throne.

"Right, then what? They will just search harder. She might even tell them where she is. If her father is such a well known and respected doctor, he is bound to have connections, and will try to come for her."

"You might be right, you might be wrong." Dave said.

Alistair shook his head, looking back down at the newspaper. "She doesn't fully trust me."

Dave looked at Alistair with unseen eyes. “Maybe if you didn't keep things from her."

Alistair thought about it. "I am trying, but--"
