Hearing this, Suzy could hear a sharp intake of breath from inside the stall.

It was clear they hadn't expected that their supervisor would still be working at this hour and would catch them gossiping about her...

After about ten seconds of awkward silence, the stall door slowly opened.

Suzy found herself facing two familiar faces – the project accountants sent by the company.

"Tell me, who am I supposedly having an affair with? I'd really like to know."

"Miss Chase, we just heard it from others..."

Suzy scoffed, crossing her arms and staring at them. "Who did you hear it from? Bring that person here; I want to hold them accountable for spreading rumors."

Silence.

Both women instantly shut their mouths.

Suzy didn't really want to make things difficult for them; she just wanted to put a stop to the rumors. As a woman working hard in her career, she couldn't afford to have such negative gossip attached to her name. Rumors like these tend to grow and must be nipped in the bud.
