"I'm sorry," Sophia said, lowering her head as she turned to leave.

Grace immediately interjected, "She's also part of the Park family. We don’t need to exclude her from our matters.”

Seeing the tension between mother and son escalating, with neither willing to yield, Sophia quickly added, "Mrs. Park, I just remembered I have some unfinished business.

“Now that I've seen you awake, I feel relieved. I'll go back to work for now and come back to see you when I'm done."

She took a few steps back and then left the room, closing the door behind her.

Now, only Grace and Liam were left in the room.

The monitoring equipment continued to beep, and the smell of disinfectant filled the air, mingling with an underlying tension.

Ever since Grace was rescued from her kidnapping ordeal and developed severe depression, Liam had acquiesced to everything she asked, except for marriage.

That was the only thing he couldn't agree to.
