Chapter 22 RUSSEL ~~~0~~~ I caught her just before she fell off the table and carried her in my arms. Her body was limp in my hand and her eyes were scrunched shut. I had seen her eyes roll to the back of her head and the way she grimaced before slipping into unconsciousness and I knew without telling that she had fainted. “Allesia,” I called softly, “Alliesia! Stay with me!” I tried to shake her awake but it was no use. Quickly, I picked my shirt and put it around her, then I dropped her gently on the bed and put on my trouser pants too. By the time I carried her again, she was already becoming increasingly cold. I'd seen so many people die and I'd caused the death of many others, but today, for the first time in a while, I actually felt something stir inside me as I carried her out of the room. I didn't want her to die, no, not on my own account. I actually didn't know what to do with her since Dr. Ramola was not close and there was no way she would reach here by this time
Chapter 23 RUSSEL “Allesia fainted?” Kegan queried, his tone a brutal lace of surprise. I groaned in pure exasperation and ignored his question, “Why would you lie using my name like that?” I seethed, “And to think you didn't even tell me!” Kegan shook his shoulder, “I merely did what I thought was right. Were you going to let the girl's mother die there when you knew fully well that she took your offer because she needed the money for that purpose?” “Why she took the offer is not my bloody business, and it's not yours either. But taking money from my account and sending it to her family in my name is! You didn't even tell me, I just had to look stupid before her when she brought up the topic.” Kegan rolled his eyes, “What's pissing you off so bad? Looks like you are looking for a way to blow steam because you are making a ruckus out of fucking nothing!” “Nothing?” I scowled in disbelief, “And what if I changed my mind about her? What if I didn't want to fuck her?” “Well y
Chapter 24 ALLESIA ~~~~^~~~~ My whole body numb and heavy as I slowly opened my eyes. For the first few minutes, I lay there motionless, trying to remember where I was and taking in my surroundings with a frown. As I gradually came to my senses, the room around me swam into focus, unfamiliar and disorienting. Melissa's room, I realized, my head throbbing with a dull ache. How did I end up here? The events of the previous night flooded back to me in fragments, leaving me feeling exposed and vulnerable. Struggling to sit up, I winced as pain shot through my head, a reminder of the fainting spell that had overtaken me. Before I could gather my bearings, the door creaked open, and Melissa strode in, a warm smile plastering on her pretty face. "Ah, you're finally awake," she said, her voice tinged with a bit of pity. "I... I'm sorry," I managed to choke out, my voice trembling. "I don't know how I ended up here. I must have... slept off." Melissa looked so amused and my cheeks bur
Chapter 25ALLESIA As I stood in Russel’s dimly lit study, the weight of the past night’s events hung heavy in the air. My heart raced as I waited for him to arrive, thoughts of facing him again so soon making me shift my weight uncomfortably from one foot to the other. He asked me to wait for him in his study, and that he needed to have a word with his mother. So I thanked my stars that he wouldn't have to see me limp all the way to his office since it's the only way i could walk now after, well—I couldn't shake off this fear that had gripped me since the first moment I met him. His domineering presence and intense gaze had always left me feeling small and vulnerable, and I dreaded the thought of facing him after what had transpired between us.I had never really been comfortable around him and last night just gave me more reasons to entertain that fear. From the moment we met, his imposing stature and piercing eyes had instilled a deep sense of unease within me. His confidence bor
Chapter 26RUSSEL TWO WEEKS LATER~~~00~~~“Whose good little girl are you?” I asked as I slapped her ass roughly, making her grab the sheets even tighter. “Answer me, Allesia.” I commanded. “Yours!” She groaned softly and I smirked, “I'm all yours, Master!” My smile broadened as I stared into her eyes, “You want this, don't you?” “I do, I want you so bad, Master!” Hearing her say those words made me slap her ass again, this time even more demanding than the last. She shrieked and bit on her lower lip, which made me frown and at the same time happy. She knew she was going to be punished and she realized it too late because I had already caught her. “You've broken a rule, Allesia.” I informed her while stifling a laugh because she was trying so hard not to do it again, “And you know you deserve to be punished.” She stared up fearlessly into my eyes and even though I expected her to shy away and cry, she surprised me with her next words. “Then punish me already, Master.”I smile
Chapter 27 ALLESIA “Send one more bottle of beer down here!” A customer growled in his usual tone. “Just one?” I asked, staring at his companion. “Nay, I'm good. Just get another one for him.” “Right away.” I replied and started for the fridge, I came back with the man's order and placed it in front of him. “Finish up with that so you can sort out the new crates.” Pablo instructed as he prepared to leave and I nodded. “When did you say your brother would be coming?” “Very soon. He said something about sorting the bill at school before stopping by.” Pablo picked his phone and started leaving, “Just let him help you pack. I'm not sure I'll be returning today.” “Sure.” It's been two weeks since I returned home and I'd come back to the bar three days after that. Renzo was back in school and we already used almost all the money I got from my shady deal with Russel Mancini to pay off nearly all the family debts. As it turned out, we were back to living like we used to, only t
Chapter 28 ALLESIA “Gentlemen, please, don't stop on my account.” Russel admonished with a smirk as he walked closer to us. “And wipe that silly look off your faces,” he lectured, “I mean, isn't fear an important aspect of what you are attempting? Your victim has to be very afraid of you if you must succeed.” The men quickly let go of my hand and fell on their knees, “Capo, please,” the pot bellied one pleaded, “We were merely playing around with her.” I watched in surprise as Russel lifted a brow, “Playing around?” He asked with a skeptical frown, then he turned to me, “Do you agree with their theory?” I quickly shook my head, knowing that as crazy as he was, Russel Mancini would not mind leaving me at the mercy of these guys if I as much as say yes to his ridiculous question. “No. They were trying to– force themselves on me.” His face scrunched in disgust, “I thought so too.” The next thing I knew, he pulled out two guns from the holster on his belt and aimed straight at
Chapter 29ALLESIAThe tension in the room was palpable as Nikolai wouldn't take his eyes off me and Renzo wouldn't stop raising inquisitive brows at me. I waited for any of them to say something, but there was no luck there so I finally cleared my throat and stepped out of the counter. “Hey…” I greeted Nikolai nervously. He stepped closer and pressed a light peck on my cheek while his hand went around my waist and I shuddered at the contact. When he felt me tense up, Nikolai offered a calming smile and stepped away. “I didn't know that you guys knew Russel Mancini.”“Oh no we don't,” it was Renzo who answered, “Not on a personal level. He merely stops by here to drink his favorite scotch sometimes.”Nikolai nodded, “Sounds like something he would do.” Then he stepped even closer to me, “But you must avoid him, Les,” he admonished, “I'm sure you already know that he is in the mafia. He's the vicious Capo of Cosa Monsoni and the don of Region Mafia Men.”I let out a nervous chuckle,
