Two to make up for yesterday. 🔥
Chapter 134 ALLESIA ~~~°~~~ I woke up to find Russel beside me, still working. His focus was so intense that he didn’t even notice I was awake. Not wanting to disturb him, I watched decide to enjoy the show. His eyes were so dull and that made my heart ache for him, he works too much! He was still bare chested, so I enjoyed the beautiful view of his angelic masculinity. That was until I unconsciously shifted on the bed, attracting his eyes. They lit up as soon as he saw me, and he quickly closed the laptop, lifting it off his lap and placing it on the bedside table. He leaned in and kissed me softly, a half smile playing on his cheek. “Morning, angel,” The simple act of his lips brushing against mine sent a jolt of electricity zapping between us. It was like I was being tickled by my crush for the first time, memories of what we did in that dark parking lot just last night flooded back and a deep blush greased my cheeks. “Good morning,” I responded, returning his ki
Chapter 135 ALLESIA ~~~0~~~ Yesterday, I had a comfortable place to work in. Not everyone knew I had any connection with the intimidating mafia boss, Russel, who so happened to be their boss’s boss until he pulled up in the studio to threaten them and also issue a strong warning to the boss’s before dragging me out. Today's shoot was grueling. Everyone was on edge, treating me with a mix of cautious respect and awkward politeness. Russel's dramatic appearance yesterday had clearly rattled them, and Mario, the director, was no exception. Normally, any model whose partner caused such a disruption would have been swiftly dismissed, but for some reason which I suspected to be Russel making sure that wasn’t an option for me, I wasn’t fired, warned or anything. I could even sense the tension in Mario's demeanor when he came in that morning, a clear sign that Russel had most likely had a stern word with him sometime yesterday, and you could guess who did most of the talking there.
Chapter 136 ALLESIA ~~~0~~~ An idea suddenly occurred to me as we left the pharmacy, “Luca, can you do me a little favour?” I asked with a pout. “Sure, anything.” His expression was cautious. “Well, since Russel is busy, I was hoping you could take me to my family home.” Luca’s frown deepened as he looked at me through the rearview mirror, “Miss, I really don’t think Capo would like that.” “It doesn’t matter. I really need to see my mother,” I insisted. “I understand, but Capo was very specific about your safety.” “He doesn’t have to know if you don’t tell him, we’ll be quick.” “There’s no way he’ll not know, there’s a tracker in this car which is directly connected to his phone,” I frowned, “Then I guess we’ll just have to take the chances. And don’t say no.” Luca sighed, “How long do you intend to stay?” “Just long enough to see my family, but you can drop me off and come back later? It’s just my Mum,” “I’m afraid I can’t leave you,” Luca insisted.
Chapter 137 RUSSEL ~~~°~~~ "Big fancy guns, clumsy moves, coded rules, yet none of you can answer a simple question: who's paying you?" "I swear I don't know!" the man shrieked, his mangled cry echoing through the almost empty room. I let out a low chuckle to hide my disgust, “You all say the same thing until I change your mind." Dylan had brought six men from the group that infiltrated the merchandise last night to the warehouse, and I was in the process of nicely getting the answers we needed out of them. So far, two proved a bit stubborn for my mood and two cried like pregnant ladies, so I had already killed four. The fifth guy was strapped to a chair in the center of the room, his face battered and bruised. Blood trickled down his forehead, mingling with sweat, as he trembled under my gaze. His eyes darted around the room, landing on Dylan, a silent plea for help, but Dylan returned his gaze with a cold one that made the man shudder. The other four lay motionless o
Chapter 138 RUSSEL ~~~0~~~ I was still seething when I took out my phone, my eyes still locked onto Allesia. She was fidgeting with her dress like a kid who had just been caught stealing. Anger and fear churned inside me all at once as the worst scenarios began to form in my head. What if they succeeded? Of course, I would have lost her, and then I would have spiraled into another incurable depression and back to my cold, unfeeling reality. As I dialed Gausto’s number, each ring of the phone stoking my impatience, “Gausto, get over here now. Luca needs to be taken to the doctor. He was shot!” I barked into the phone. Gausto rushed in almost immediately, carefully lifting a weak Luca off Allesia’s lap. He winced in pain. Allesia sat up to help them, the way her fingers touched his bare body and the care she was giving him added a slight feeling of jealousy to my anger. Stepping forward, I eased Luca out of her grip and helped him stand, “Get your things,” I informed he
Chapter 139 RUSSEL ~~~°~~~~ I gripped the steering wheel, my mind a storm of emotions—anger, frustration, and a bewildering sense of loss. How could she be telling me she loved me in the morning and then turn around and say she couldn’t fit into my world by evening? What the hell did that even mean? She had been with me long enough to understand how things works around me. She had never really had a problem with it before now, a few complaints here and there, but none had ever really escalated to the point of having her say it to my face that she couldn’t live the rest of her life like that. Was it because of her family? Maybe she never really loved me, and coming back to her family made her realize it. Or maybe nearly dying had changed her mind about me. That shit does crazy things to people, especially innocent wildflowers like Allesia. But I had come face to face with death too many times to give a shit. I had shown her my worst side, told her everything, and yet she stil
Chapter 140 ALLESIA ~~~0~~~ I sat on the front porch, cradling a cup of lukewarm coffee. I was trying to keep my head clear, and it was kinda working, except I wasn’t really letting my mind focus on a particular thought. I sighed as my eyes involuntarily returned to the adjoining street, where his car would easily come into view if he was coming. Luca was stable now, although he had battled a hellish fever through the night. My mind, no longer clouded by the frantic haze of the past day, could finally think a little clearer. Gausto was on the porch too, just a few paces away from where I sat, he wouldn’t leave my sight, and we had all grown tired of telling him to go get some rest himself. Russel wasn’t answering his phone and I was worried sick. He hadn’t come home last night after he left, even Kegan and Dylan said they didn’t know his whereabouts because he wasn’t taking their calls either. We said some pretty mean things to each other, and now I wasn’t sure if he’d
Chapter 141ALLESIA~~~°~~~He stood there, obviously trying to decide whether or not to say anything to my mother. By his face, I could tell his resolve was to say no, but as soon as he opened his mouth, I beat him to it.“Mum, don’t worry, we’ll come in,” I said quickly. My mother looked between both of us. “You sure?”I glanced at Russel, who was giving me a glare. “Yeah,” I replied. “We just need a moment.”My mum sighed. “Okay, I’ll leave you two to it.” She left us alone and went back inside.I turned to Elletra, who was still standing there with no plans to leave. I stylishly nodded towards the door, motioning for her to leave too. She hesitated for a moment before patting the car one last time, spared Russel a longing look and smiled.“Looking forward to that tour,” she whispered before she went in.We stood there until the door shut behind Elletra. Then Russel released a breath, leaned against his car, tucked his hands into his pockets, and just stared at me, it was obvious h
