Danielle's POV

The hardest part about coming back to Las Vegas, was leaving my little brother behind. Oliver wasn't too happy about not having me around, but I guess he understood why it had to be like that.

Brandon got him a tablet, so we could always FaceTime each other, when needed. Aunt Mallory still wasn't happy about me leaving with Brandon, and she didn't fail to hide her displeasure.

I remember walking out of her kitchen, to see her glaring daggers at a smug looking Brandon. She must have dropped a threat or two, and Brandon was just being his usual, cocky self.

The flight back to Vegas was relatively better, as I was awake the whole time. It's been over a week since then, and things were pretty much ...normal.

"Hey! Um...you prepared for our final exams?" Sam asked, snapping me back to the present.

We were seated at our usual spot in the school library, flipping through pages of different textbooks.

"Can't really be prepared enough." I mumbled, before letting out a yawn.

I didn't really know what was going on with me, but I knew it all had something to do with her.Her bright, hazel eyes and radiant smile, the way the tendrils of her beautiful, brown hair, cascaded down her face, the sound of her laughter and giggles, as she sat across from me at the table reserved for us. They were a few other people in the restaurant with us, but somehow, they all seemed to be lost in my peripheral vision. Danielle was my main focus, and I stared at her unabashedly. I got her the sexy, evening gown she was putting on, but I still couldn'

"Now, that's more like it!" He flashed me a blood stained grin, sending shivers down my spine. In that moment, I realized that it was what he wanted all along; to make me a killer, a monster like him."No!" My 19 years old self trembled in terror at the sight. The initial anger I felt had subsided, and in it's place was fear and regret. He let out a pained laughter, grabbing my hands and pulling the knife out of himself. I watched my father fall to the ground, in a pool of his own blood. This man had take

My eyes fluttered open, and I sat up on the bed almost immediately.I was in Brandon's room, and a frown slowly formed on my face, as I thought hard about how I got here. Looking down at the dress on my body, it all began to make sense. My hair was a mess. The door suddenly opened, and I was relieved to see Anissa walking in with a tray of food in her hand, smiling at me."Good morning, Danielle!" She greeted, as I walked up to her. Danielle's POVIt's been over two hours, since Brandon stormed out of the house, because I dared to bring up his mother in our discussion. He seemed to be hell-bent on keeping her out of his life, and I realize now, that I had no business trying to interfere."I'm sure he's just needs a little space. He'll be back in no time." Anissa tried to reassure me, as I helped her out in the kitchen. They were three other maids with us, but she seemed to be the head. Others just carried out their smaller tasks in silence, as I and Anissa sliced some vegetables and meat."Ugh! I shouldn't have brought up that topic. It was a really sensitive one." I groaned out in frustration, trying to take my mind off how furious Brandon was."I would have brought it up." Anissa said, and I turned to give her a look."What? You didn't mean any harm, did you?" She shrugged, and I stifled a smile at her accent."Of course, not!" I answered her, earning a shrug, before she continued her slicing."Danielle, right?

She smiled, looking me in the eyes."Heck, you even love her!" "Mother, that hasn't answered my question." I growled."What I did to you, it made you lock up your heart to people around. At least, I know now, that you are in good hands." I didn't understand why she was speaking this way. I wanted to keep on yelling, and be mad at her, but her calm demeanor made it impossible for me

Danielle's POVBrandon was pissed, but so was I. He was holding on really tight to the steering wheel, as he drove us back to the mansion. The tension in the car was so thick, I could almost feel it. His jaws would tick every second; an indication that he was biting back words he so badly wanted to let out. I on the other hand, folded my arms, glaring at the road before us, and only turning around to look at him, once in a few minutes.I couldn't take the silence anymore, so I decided to voice out my thoughts."I can't believe you were actually going to kill my best friend, because of me." "I was going to put a bullet in him, not kill him." He said, before taking his eyes off the road for a second."There's a difference." He deadpanned, and I felt my anger increase."Fuck you, Brandon!" Brandon would occasionally point out directions to him."You seem surprised." Brandon smiled at the expression on my face. For someone who usually collected ridiculously huge amount of money from Brandon, you'd expect her to be living in some luxury estate, and not the freaking suburbs. So yeah! I was a little surprised."You know, where I grew up wasn't any different from this." Brandon said to me, peering through his side of the window."What was it like?" I asked, making him smile."It was...tough.""But there were also perks." He said, relaxing back on his seat."Really? Like what?"
