Haven’t you tried eating from a fast-food diner yet?” Bea asked in a curious tone.Callum grinned and Carson held his nape. Those two looked similar and it was so cute to see them together. The buzzing sound of the busy street filled Bea’s ear as soon as she got out of the cab. Her face crumpled when she was met by the crowd of people walking along the sidewalk and the smell of the smoke-filled air which made it clear that she was finally in the city.Annoyed by the noise of the vendors and the shoppers on the side of the street, Bea looked at her wristwatch and frowned when she realized the time.“I need to arrive on time or else the surprise won’t be successful.” She giggled after imagining the expression on her boyfriend’s face once he saw her.She looked at her reflection in the mirror of a store right behind her and smiled. In front of her was a beautiful girl in a long-sleeved black cropped top that emphasized her milky white skin. Her top was paired with blue high-waist jeans that hugged her slender legs. To complete her outfit, she wore black sneakers that were much more comfortable for her to wear. Additionall

Bea finally stopped crying after almost thirty minutes. She fixed her appearance and made sure that no one would notice her puffy red eyes before she opened the door of the comfort room and left. While walking towards the counter, she groaned when she suddenly bumped into a man. He was tall and she felt as if she bumped into a wall. Just how hard his muscles were for her to feel such pain just by bumping him? She had an annoyed expression when she looked at the man, but the man did not even look at her.He just continued walking towards his table without even a single word of apology. Were all city men supposed to be arrogant? How rude! She glared at the man who was finally seated at the corner before she started walking again towards the counter. She ordered an Iced Americano to calm herself. As soon as she was seated near the glass wall of the establishment, she wondered why nothing good happened to her for that day. She should not have gone to the city

“So, where are you taking me?” Bea asked as soon as Margaret started driving. She was not sure if she made the right choice in tagging along. She was not even a professional, what if she ended up disappointing her?She should not have made a decision when her emotions were at their peak. Why was she so impulsive?Bea took a deep breath when the car stopped and both of them walked out of the car. Margaret gave her keys to the valet driver and led her towards the studio. She felt as if she was in the spotlight as soon as Margaret opened the doors. The photographers and the other staff were looking at her with confused eyes, so she felt like a fish out of water. What was she even doing there?“Please welcome, Bea. She was the proxy I was talking about.” Margaret broke the silence with her introduction. She gently patted her back which somehow made Bea feel a little relieved.“Proxy?” The photographer looked at her f

Since the announcement of Bea’s pregnancy, the couple would often take time to have a check-up every morning twice a week. The atmosphere at home had been merry and maybe it was because of the excitement that no one noticed that Caleb had been acting differently lately.“You’re frowning again today, Cale.” Carson noticed as soon as he entered his room. “What’s wrong?”“Nothing’s wrong. Nothing… really.” Caleb sighed. He woke up without his parents again and was left to eat a pancake alone. There was no call nor text coming from them so he just asked the driver to bring him to his uncle’s house without asking permission from them.To whom could he ask permission if they weren’t around? The old woman’s voice suddenly popped into his mind. “Just wait until your mom gets pregnant and we’ll see.”Was she telling the truth? “How was your day, Cale?” Bea asked as soon as she fastened the kid’s seatbelt.“It’s fine…” Caleb looked at the window without even meeting Bea’s eyes.Bea just dismissed it and thought that the kid was tired. She sat on the passenger seat and just listened to the silence. However, she could not take it. Usually, Caleb would talk about how his day went until he fell asleep. She was afraid that something happened in that house that he did not want to tell them about.“Caleb?” Bea looked at him in the rearview mirror.“Hmm?” Caleb seemed uninterested, he did not even look at her. Was he mad that she did not accompany him to his grandfather’s house?“Will you tell Mommy if something was wrong?” Bea asked in a soft and gentle manner.“Nothing, Mom.”Bea sighed and looked at Callum. Her husband just shrugged and looked at his son through

But I can’t accompany you today since I also have work.”“That’s no problem. Grandpa would be happy to have me around and Uncle Carson told me that he brought a new game today. I’ll behave well and wait for you and Dad to pick me up.”After bringing Caleb to the chairman’s house, Callum asked if they could stopover at a drive-thru.“Are you still hungry?
