Threw Herself Off The Stairs

Serena pov

"What the hell does Miles think he's doing? Flirting with his Alpha's mate? It has been bugging me since last night, I couldn't sleep properly even with Alex by my side. I'm fully aware that he's my best friend and beta of this pack. But why the hell is he so attentive to my mate?" Ralph said. 

"She's not yours anymore," Black growled. "You seem to have forgotten how you rejected her?"

"I didn't respond to him. It's best I just ignored him. He's been doing that all day. He kept on reminding me of what I did and pushing me away. I'll find out everything I can about both of them."

We were all at the park after Ralph declared my twin his Luna. I sat beside Lara as she was trying everything she could to cheer me up… I wouldn't say it was working. As I only pretended to laugh or tried to fake a smile. Alex was the happiest woman in the pack. I would see it through her expressions, Though everyone was happy for them. 

"Did you notice the stare my brother and Nate were giving you throughout the ceremony?" Lara said. Seems she knows I was deep in thought.

"It's not like I care anyways," I replied 

"Come on, Serena." She said and rolled her eyes.

"You are very beautiful and hot. It's really hard to believe you never noticed the looks you're getting. It makes Ralph extremely jealous." 

For a moment there I was stunned at what she said.. wow could it be the reason Miles was kinda avoiding me? Who knows. I pretended not to know what she was talking about.

"Since we are always together, I thought they were looking at you," I said and smiled

She laughed. "Sure, they do but I'm not the only one they look at. Girl… have you seen the shape of your ass?"

I blushed and looked around hoping no one heard her. 

I smiled and took a deep breath. "Rejection or not, I'm not stopping myself from being loved… I'll wait for the right person."

"And here he comes," Lara said as she saw Miles walk towards our direction. He gave us a big smile as he got closer to us. 

 He sat down beside me and kissed me on my cheek. 

I looked up at him, surprised but before I could say anything. Lara interfered with her words

"Seems I'm missing something here. Are you in love with my friend?" Lara asked her brother. I immediately felt awkward, my eyes widened and I started coughing. I made it look real so I could excuse myself. 

"Here, have some water," Miles said, putting a glass of water for me to drink. All the while we were talking and laughing I had no idea Ralph was watching us. 

The ceremony continued the entire night. I wanted to leave so bad, I couldn't bear seeing the one I love with someone else. but Lara insisted I stay. 

I felt Ralph's eyes on me the entire night. Not for once did I care to look up at him. 

Each time Miles touched or talked to me. There's always a low, menacing growl coming from his direction 

I wondered what his problem was. He was the one who rejected me and sat with his new mate and Luna.

Lara stopped smiling as she looked at my back. I followed her gaze only for me to see Ralph behind me.

"What are you doing with her? He didn't wait for Miles' reply

"Um.. listen I wanna talk to you for a 

moment." 

"Sure," Miles said and followed him

"Did you see Ralph's face? He's jealous that my brother is all over you." Lara smirked.

"What does he want from me? This shit is really confusing the hell out of me. First, he rejected me, and now he is getting jealous of Miles. What's his plan anyways? 

Did he want to take my twin as his mate and make me lonely forever because he can't stand seeing men around me?

Do you know what's more terrifying? Is the fact that he could just order every male wolf to stay away from me and they would. No one could go against his command as he is the Alpha." I said in a frustrated voice. 

"You know my brother would always protect you right? So… you don't have to worry." I smiled at her words, but the smile on my face vanished the moment I saw Joanna, the Alpha's immediate sister left Alex to come to us.

"Hi, Lara.." Joanna greeted with a fake smile that was only obvious to me. I felt invisible as Joanna only acknowledged Lara's presence. 

"Hi, Joanna," Lara responded with a smile. 

"I heard you're good at makeup. Do you mind helping me out? My face is a little messed up right now.." 

"of course." She said and turned to me. "don't go anywhere, I'll be right back." 

"Of course," I said as she stood up and left.

Alex was sitting alone at the table. Shit! She's walking in my direction. Goodness If only Lara or Miles were here. She got close and looked up at me with a murderous look.

I have no idea why she hates me this much.

"What do you want? Why are you here bitch?" Alex said giving me a piercing stare

"Why do you care? Isn't this what you've always wanted?" I said and was about to leave when she pulled me. I couldn't fight back as she was stronger than me. I tried to get my hands off her but her grip was too tight. She kept pulling and pulling my hands until we got upstairs. 

"Alex let me go, please I'm begging you… you've gotten what you wanted right? What else do you want from me?" I said nervously. 

"You think you can take my place in Ralph's heart and Luna of this pack right? He hasn't taken his eyes off you the whole night … and I can also see that until I get rid of you. You will continue to be a pest in my way. But guess what? All this will end tonight. 'If putting my unborn child at risk would get me the people's sympathy, Then so be it.' 

She held my two hands firmly as I struggled to pull my hands from her grip.

 "What are you trying to do? Don't hurt me please." I said with tears in my eyes.

"Don't worry, I won't hurt you, in fact, you'll be the one hurting me instead." She said still holding my both hands firmly. Then gave me an evil smile and started screaming for help.

"Serena, what are you doing? Please don't do this. I beg you, spare my unborn child please!!"

"What!? I'm not doing anything to you, what do you mean?" I asked, confused.

  And this time her voice became louder. 

     

           Ralph!!!! 

She yelled, Miles and Ralph heard her voice and quickly rushed to see what was going on. 

 "Somebody help me please!!!" 

She yelled even louder. Before throwing herself off the stairs. I was stunned. I couldn't stop her, I watched her roll over the stairs and fell to the ground. And then Ralph and Miles got to the scene but it was too late as she was already bleeding. They both looked up at me and then Alex lying on the floor. 

"What did you do to her?" Ralph yelled as he carried her to wherever. Miles ran up to me to check if I was hurt.

"Are you hurt?" He asked 

"No, am not"

"What just happened?"
