THIRTY-FIVE

She couldn’t speak. Her eyes wandered quickly, making sure that she wasn’t in the underworld anymore.

When she realized that she was nowhere in the underworld, she gasped and looked at Zeus. Still not believing that Zeus actually took the bait and took her to the heavens just like she planned, she did not move. She remained standing where she was and looked at Zeus suspiciously. Although she was feeling more fear than suspicion.

Zeus looked at her. There was a knowing look on his face that makes her think that this might be a trap. But then Cerberus had helped her. If this was a trap, certainly Cerberus knows about it.

“Why?” she asked Zeus before she could even stop herself. The man tilted his head to the side and grinned.

“Don’t you want to come here?”

Her heart thundered inside her chest. How did he know? Did Cerberus somehow tell him? But why would Cerberus do that? The last time she checked, Cerberus loathed Zeus. However, as she thinks more about it, she realized that maybe Zeus
