Elise's POV.

"What did you just say?" I asked, hoping that I had misheard her.

"Ma'am, I tried to hold on to her but they ripped her out of my hands and punched me in the stomach…" Adaline cried.

Fear and shock seized my heart. I felt this suffocation overwhelm my chest, I began struggling to breathe. My heart raced as if might burst out of my chest.

Tears stung my eyes and I shook my head in denial. I was waiting for my daughter to return from school. She couldn't have gotten kidnapped, this must have been a nightmare.

I removed my hands from Adaline's face and took them to my ears. I closed my eyes and muttered, "I'm still on the island, I'm on the bed and this is a bad dream… this can't be true. It's a bad dream."

"Anna," Jones called and I looked at him.

"We are going to find her, nothing bad is going to happen to her," Jones said but I wasn't listening.
