Chapter Sixty - The Release

Luna almost closed her eyes as she felt Justin’s hand on her cheek. It has been three years, six months and twenty-three days since she’d felt Justin’s hand on her face. And she remembered each day.

She had told him she didn’t, but she did. She remembered it all, the thought of his touch had haunted her night so stunningly for months after their split. And now, with all the years of hurt and pain still between them, she was feeling his hand on her cheek again.

“Justin,” she whispered, her heart tripping in her chest.

“You don’t know how long I’ve wanted to touch you,” Justin said, his voice hoarse and deep.

Luna’s pulse jumped at his words. What was happening to her? She wasn’t supposed to give in this easily, she wasn’t supposed to give in at all.

Luna looked deep into Justin’s eyes. This was wrong. This was going against everything she had been drumming into her own head, her own mind, her heart, for years now. This was betraying herself.
