As Hannah recalled how much Erica cried earlier on, she understood why she took so long.

She asked her gently, "Have you applied any medicine yet? There's a first aid kit somewhere … if we're out of medicine, you can buy some downstairs."

"No—No, there's no need to," Erica replied in a hurry as she shook her head wildly. She didn't want to have medicine all over her face.

She continued in a haste, "It's fine. When I washed my face earlier, I checked and it wasn't that bad. It'll heal quickly."

Hannah found it amusing for her to be this reluctant toward medication.
