Laura explained that she hurt her waist during a mission.

She made it sound light, but Sage looked at her expression and knew that the injury was serious.

"Turn around. Don't look," Sage ordered Jace. Jace obeyed and turned around in silence.

After Louis mopped the floor, Sage sent him to receive Luther and Kane.

The three of them were the only ones left in the spacious cafe.

Laura could not help laughing, looking at her old comrade, who became as docile as a big golden retriever. She commented, “I didn’t expect the high and mighty Old Dried Fish to be so docile now. Has life trained you or something else that conquered you?"

Jace gritted his teeth. He could not turn around, so he had to swallow his frustration. He pretended that he heard nothing.

"Old Dried Fish?" Sage arched her brows slightly.

Laura explained, "Jace’s nickname. Yoel and I gave it to him. Isn’t it nice?"

Sage almost laughed. She glanced at the back of Jace’s head and agreed, "Yeah. It suits him."
