“When did you learn to speak Greek?” He asks with great interest.

“Roughly a century ago. Every few years I try to learn a new language, I figure it would come in handy,” I shrug.

“Certainly worked in my favour,” he smiles, “The way you spoke to that little girl was adorable. I had no idea you could be such a softy,” he says playfully.

“I guess I have a soft spot for children. I’ve always envied their innocent view of the world. I’d give anything to have that back,” I sigh.

“Do you miss it?” He asks with deep sympathy in his voice.

“Miss what?” I ask in confusion.

“Being human. I can’t miss it because I was never human, but you were,” he says sympathetically.

I take in a deep breath as I process the weight of that question, “Every single day. I took my human life and everyone in it for granted. I’d give anything to have it back and undo the past, but I can’t. Then again, if none of this happens I never would have met you,” I admit.
