Logan's POV:

Everything was going according to plan. Attending the ball, talking business, and waiting for the ball to end so I can return to my love and cuddle to sleep. This night would have been ideal if Lia had been my date instead of Zara. I know my girl has always wanted to attend a ball like this, but her safety comes first. And this place is dangerous for her because of one person in particular - Olivier.

I'm also aware that she is upset with me, so I called her before going to the ball. She sounded fine at first as if we hadn't even fought. But she eventually got it and tried to put on a tough exterior. When I called her, I had a strange feeling. I just couldn't put my finger on it. She didn't seem to mind that I was going to the ball without her. Given her personality, I expected her to make things difficult for me. She can be quite stubborn at times. Even after arriving at the ball, I had the nagging feeling that I should call her e

Karolia's POV:The tension in the car was so thick that I could cut it with a knife. I didn't even have to turn my head and look at Logan to know there was a crease between his brows, his lips were pulled down into a deep frown, and knuckles were white as he gripped the steering wheel tightly. Logan was driving me back home as we left the ball half an hour before. Getting a lot of attention from the couples around us, Logan dragged me from the dance floor as soon as the barbie doll stormed off. We soon left the place, not even waiting for the dinner. I protested a lot telling I'll go back with Tyler but it was in vain.I'm angry at him for not informing me about the change in his date. I know he won’t take me as his date at any cost for this ball, but I’m angry and confused why he took Mr. Adam’s daughter who I felt like she’s trying to win Logan’s heart. It wasn’t mandatory to bring a date, at least that’s what I

It has been four days since Logan left for the business meeting. It may sound corny, but I’m already so dead inside without him. I miss him so much. I miss his muscular arms around me, those ocean blue eyes that would look at me ever so lovingly. I feel empty without him. The thought of him being miles away makes me down and depressed. I know I might be overreacting as he’s going to be back soon, but the past days without him were so melancholic and horrible. We talk every day, but it isn’t enough. Nothing is enough when he’s miles away from me. His voice just won’t make me feel complete again as his presence did. Never have I ever wanted something so much except him. I’m horrified at the realization that I’m starting to depend on Logan for everything.I was laying on my bed, lost in my world of thoughts. Mainly revolving around Logan. My phone started to vibrate and a smile spread on my face as the fami

A/N: Saudade is a word for a sad state of intense longing for someone or something that is absent. Saudade comes from Portuguese culture, and it is often expressed in its literature and music. Saudade is described as a kind of melancholy yearning.*****"Daddy, look I'm flying." Five-year-old me cried out in joy as my ice skate glided on the ice surface. I straighten my hands in a horizontal way, like wings of a bird."Good job, princess!" Daddy encouraged me as he skated in my direction effortlessly like a professional. But before he could reach me, I lost my balance and fell down on the cold hard surface. I let out a screech as I felt a stab of pain in my left shoulder and palm."Shit." Daddy cursed before he bends down to my level. His eyes softened as he took in my red face, tears falling down from my eyes nonstop."It hurts daddy." I hiccupped, sniffing loudly."I'm so

If you ask me which is the boring subject I’ve learned in my life, I would answer Economics without any hesitation. Right now I’m trying my hardest to keep my eyes open. Looking around the class, some students in the last row are either already asleep or are on their phones. Some are trying to stay awake like me and a few are really engrossed into the subject, good for them. Mrs. Franks doesn’t really care about the number of students listening to her lecture, she only cares about how many of them are in the class. As I wanted attendance, I tolerated this class. I guess that’s the only reason why at least these many students are present here. It’s even boring since both Scar and Tyler are not having the same schedule as mine for today. So I just have to suffer this one and half hour alone, brooding. If I had an option to choose between economics or accountancy, I would choose accounts in a heartbeat, not that it’s my favorite subject thou

Both the men stood up as they spotted us standing two feet away from the table. My eyes met with the familiar ocean blue ones which never failed to captivate me. I gulped silently as I noticed how he hadn’t blinked at all ever since he laid his eyes on me. Logan Watson was wearing a black notch lapel blazer suit and he wore a plain black shirt underneath it, which he had paired with tight-fitted black trousers. My eyes found him again and I noticed a different emotion swirling in his eyes that I have seen only a couple of times by now, but I was never able to put a finger on it. The emotion was so deep and intense that I had to avert my eyes if I didn't want to crumble to my feet right here. Gosh, how much I missed seeing those eyes in these past few days. Scarlet nudged me to bring me back to my senses and pulled me towards the table.“Hey, baby girl,” Patrick was soon on his feet, approaching Scar in a second. I st

“Heads up!” I heard Logan shout at me before I saw a piece of cake charging towards me. Even though it only took two seconds, I felt like it took a minute as if it’s coming in slow motion, but my reflex wasn’t working as I stood on the ground frozen with widened eyes. SPLASH! The creamy substance hit my forehead before it slid down from my face to the floor. I closed my eyes, gritting my teeth in anger as Logan’s loud laughter filled the entire kitchen.Wiping the frost off my eyes, I glared at Watson who was bent over and laughing his ass off. Taking that opportunity, I took an egg from the egg carton and walked two steps up to him before cracking it onto his hair. Now the tables are turned. I was laughing at him as the slimy egg fell from his head down onto the side of his face whilst Logan was glaring at me. But I noticed his surprised look transforming into a well known mischievous one. My eyes widened when I saw him eyeing the bowl of

One month later)Looking out of this luxurious car window, I’m blessed with a wonderful view of snow-covered trees and pathways. Few people out in the avenue were warming themselves with heavy sweaters and jackets and children in the open park were trying to make snowmen or were hitting each other with snowballs.Turning the heater a notch higher, I rubbed my freezing hands together. I let out a sigh and relish in the beautiful scenery and the feeling winter emits out. I absolutely love the winter season. Being inside the house, slumped on the couch wearing thick sweaters, and a hot steaming coffee nearby with a really good book in your hand to read. There is nothing better to ask than that. That’s how I always used to spend most of my winter days, especially if I don’t have any work to do.But this time a certain blue-eyed devil named Logan freaking Watson decided to change my routine. I glared at him with all of my irritation I

"Hey, Karrie. I hope everything is set for tonight." Scarlet's chirpy voice came through the other line of the phone. I let out a sigh before dropping myself on the bed. My mind was constantly playing tricks with me. At some point, I was pretty sure our plan will work out and I'll be able to gather as much information possible from Olivier about my parent's murder. But right now, I'm not having that much confidence to go on with this plan."I don't know," I mumbled in a strained voice."What do you mean ‘you don't know'?" Scarlet asked. I could hear her rummaging through something from the other side. Guess she is getting ready for the ball whereas I'm still in a dilemma. I took a shaky breath and clenched my eyes tightly before opening."I don't know whether I can do this, Scar. What if our plan doesn't work? I can't risk yours and Tyler's life because of me." I said as my eyesight became blurry. I held my breath as the other line went silent for a moment

“What kind of ending is that?” Grecia whined disappointedly, sitting next to me. I chuckled at her cute pout.“I know right. Why couldn’t they end it without him dying?” Daniella complained a scowl etched on her lips as well. I shrugged my shoulders because I didn’t know the answer to that either. “Or they could have just shown from the beginning itself that he was just her imagination,” Grecia spoke out her suggestion.“Her hallucinations of him are what made her survive and go forward amidst the difficulties. Like that gave her the need to escape.” I explained.“But still, it’s so sad. I regret watching this now. My whole mood is deflated.” Grecia said and Daniella agreed with nodding. I look at Rebecca and we both shake our heads at their childishness. It’s almost around half past 4 in the afternoon and we just finished watching the movie ‘Adrift’. Is there any legal punishment given by the Jury for poking someone’s eye out with a sharp-pointed nail or for cutting off someone’s private parts? If it’s there then it will probably be under misdemeanor, right? Huffing loudly with a scowl on my face, I tiredly scan the set of my clothes hanging inside Logan’s closet. The sound of a door closing alerted my ears and my eyes brightened up a little when I realized Logan entered the washroom to take a shower. Quickly dropping the towel I had in my hand onto the floor, I rushed out of the closet and quickly plunged under the blanket and welcomed the sleep once again with a happy smile on my face. The room is still dark, the sun not up yet. It’s normal for Logan to wake up at this unholy hour of the day, at 5 am, and even before that. I usually don’t mind missing his warmth beside me but I do mind when I’m forced to wake up too. Logan did say he will be training me for self-defense and to fight, but I should’ve expected this training to

I gaze at the beautiful snowflakes falling from the night sky while hugging myself tightly with the blanket for some warmth. I was standing on the balcony to get some fresh air. The whole house has quieted down and I presume all went to sleep by now since it’s around midnight. Sleep is long forgotten for me and Logan since there are a lot of things to talk about between us now. Logan is currently taking a shower and that's when I stepped out of the room. I’m expecting a serious talk to take place once he’s done with his shower and this is a way I found to calm myself down and prepare for everything.I heard the opening sound of the sliding doors and knew that Logan had come in. I remained in the same position and soon felt the familiar warmth of him behind me. His two strong arms wrapped around my blanket-covered body and rested his chin on top of my head.“How long have you been standing here?” He asked, rubbing my sides even though I was well covered.“Since you went for the shower,

I woke up with a grunt when I heard my phone blaring the alarm sound. I poke my head out of my blanket and reach towards my phone with my right hand without opening my eyes. Even though the sunlight wasn’t directly hitting my eyes, I could feel the whole room lit with it. As soon as I got my phone I opened my eyes and stopped the alarm at once. The time read 10:00 in the morning and I didn’t have to look at the other side of the bed to know that Logan had already left. Of course, he will have some important meetings at the unholy hours of 6 or 7 in the morning. I released a heavy sigh before getting up from my bed and deciding to go get ready for my day.I look myself in the mirror and find the frown that has been sitting on my face for the past couple of days. Logan's POV: Being the CEO of a powerful company and once being a part of illegal businesses, I have heard different stories of how people take revenge on others. Some even go to an extent by harming innocent lives to satisfy their hunger for revenge. Lia's case is similar to this. Her whole family was a victim and she suffered the most and is still suffering. I need to bring an end to this whole drama. An end to my girl's misery. They even had the audacity to play against my family. Play against me.My hands stuffed in my pockets, I tapped my feet impatiently waiting for this damn elevator to reach the basement of my office which is a parking lot as well. Finally, the elevator door pinged open and I nodded my head at the security guard before walking ahead. After several turns, I stopped in front of the grey metal door. Two of my guards were standing next to the door as well. One of them opened the door for me and I nod my head in gratitude before walking down the dark hall, my foot

He laughed humorlessly"Oh Lia," he chuckled darkly, running his hand through his hair "Stop with this innocent act."I stood up from the bed and crossed my arms over my chest. "No, you stop beating around the bush," I said, getting angry as well."Is there something you want to tell me?" Third POV: “What would you like to drink?” Olivier asked Karolia, trying to put her at ease. They were seated in a restaurant opposite Radio City Music Hall and the place is packed with people. To anyone else, she looked fine as if she’s comfortable in Olivier’s presence. But he knew well. Behind her tough mask, there is fear. Fear of what this man is capable of doing. He’s still seeing daylight even after killing who knows how many lives, innocent or not. “I didn't come here to have a drink and chat with you Oliver, and you know that,” she said with her voice low. Olivier smirked. He likes the fact that he’s able to instill fear in people’s minds. That he can become people’s nightmare. But only one person isn’t afraid of him. Logan Watson. It’s the other way around. With one swift punch, Logan can knock out even a hefty man. Oliver has to admit, Karolia is one lucky girl that she met Logan out of thousands of people living in New York. We leaned forward and hugged each other which was a bit hard due to the table separating us. "You look ravishing girl" I complimented. Her long hair was curled and left open and a slight natural blush was coating her cheeks. She was glowing. Scarlet gave a cute smile before taking my hands in hers.
