Chapter 12: Past

“What do you mean, Zack?” Amy asked, her voice clearly confused. She couldn't fathom what Zack was trying to convey with his words.

“Tell me, Amy, what really happened that day?” Zack’s voice was full of determination, waiting for answers. As much as Amy wanted to tell everything, it felt as if her memories of that day had vanished, leaving only fragmented pieces. But she knew she had to try to remember that night to give Zack the truth he was seeking.

Flashback

Amy's family was happily chatting at their home that day. Their love and happiness were evident, as well as the affluence of their lives.

“Hon, stop! Don’t tickle me,” Amy's mother, Victoria, laughed as she tried to fend off the tickling.

“No! I won’t stop! Hahaha,” replied her father, who seemed even more encouraged to tease Victoria, continuing to tickle her. Their laughter filled the house with joy, as if there were no problems in their world.
