I sat there and watched as tears filled Cilvia's eyes and escaped from the corner of her lids, running down the side of her head.

Her gaze was still planted on Cane, and she looked at him with utmost apology.

"I'm really sorry, Cane. I'm sorry I treated you so horribly. If I had known what you went through..." Cilvia softly started, but Cane cut her off.

"Nothing would have changed." He commented as he looked at her with blank eyes, still sitted at the edge of the bed.

"You would have still thought I was Alfonzo's bastard. You would have still thought I was in that mansion to take your son's place. You would have still hated me. And you would have still tried to poison me and have me killed." Cane added. "You knowing about my past and where I came from wouldn't change a thing, Cilvia. You were a mad woman, unable to see anything but the power you had as the wife of the head of the Smith's family."

More tears escaped Cilvia's eyes. All she could do was whisper her apologies.
