Elijah's hand felt warm. I wanted to be uncomfortable with his touch, but I couldn't.

Even though I was very upset that Elijah forbade me from going after my sister, I slightly liked the fact that he didn't let go of my hand.

I didn't know why I was having this sort of reaction to him, so I chocked it up to wanting to feel safe.

Compared to the people who were constantly staring our way, I preferred to hide behind Elijah.

Stepping closer to him provided some coverage from half of the room.

Elijah's shoulders tensed, making me glance up at him to see if something was wrong,

Elijah was looking forward with his jaw clenched and his eyes spitting fire. I following his gaze only to see Detective Kevin and another man walking in through the front door.

The second they stepped in to the room, the entire atmosphere changed. The conversations that were blossoming amongst the people died as eyes turned to the two men.
