75| A mother's promise

Miranda entered the living room and saw Emily step out of the kitchen to greet her, "Welcome."

"Thank you. Where is Oliver?" Miranda asked as she walked to the nearest couch and sat down.

"He went to his room, Ma," Emily replied. She had heard the sound of the door opening before and had come out of the kitchen to see who it was. She saw Oliver enter the house, but he didn't look happy.

"Oliver didn't seem happy, Ma. How is his health? I hope it's not something serious?" Emily asked, showing her concern for the little boy she admired.

"No, it's just malaria. You should have his room treated once you're done preparing lunch. I will go and see him now," Miranda said as she rested on the couch for a while. Later, she rose and proceeded to her son's room to check on him.

"Oliver!" Miranda called her son's name, wondering what he was doing in his room.

"Mom," Oliver responded, aware that he had succeeded in ruining his mom's date but hadn't succeeded in preventing her from kissing Uncle La
