Ashley pov
“Marry me!” he said in a commanding tone and I scoffed within. What the hell was wrong with him? And who does he think he is?
Although he looks classy, that doesn't give him the right to stop a lady and ask her to marry him right away. It doesn't make any sense in every sense but he seems not to understand that.
“Sir, I think you must be drunk, so I will let it lie and forgive you,” I said nonchalantly and tried to walk out on him, nonetheless, his next words stopped me on my track.
“Do you know who I am?” He asked gently as he fixed his gaze on mine, once again. I look into his eyes, not sure how I'll get used to the intensity behind his stare, and shake my head.
“No...not at all but I'm well aware that you must be drunk,” I say and see a smirk displayed on his face. This man terrified and intrigued me for just a few seconds, and it was already making my head spin.
“From what I have heard, you seem to be owing my company a lot of money. And in case you don't know, I'm not a very patient person,” he says then chuckled right after.
There and then realization dawned on me that he was the famous Ethan Greyson, the Ceo of the biggest loan-issuing company owned by his grandfather.
I had only heard of him but never met him. But now I was in front of him and he asked me to marry him? But why? What exactly did he see in me?
“Why do you want to marry someone like me? I bet there are lots of ladies out there that are up to your standard, so why me?” I ask as curiosity hits me hard. I want to know why he chose to want to marry a stranger like me. Although not because I care but because it was the right thing to do.
“You are just lucky that is all, there is no specific reason,” he replies to me with a shrug. I looked closely at him to see any signs of him teasing me but there was none.
He seems serious about asking me to marry him. Well, it's a bit odd but I can't bring myself to reject his offer. I mean, if I get married to the famous Ethan Greyson then that means his wealth is also my wealth.
Aside from that, I'm going to be all over the internet and have the world on my feet. Having Ethan Greyson as my husband would change my life completely.
As I stare at him, I find myself living in his eyes only. Ethan Greyson has a set of sapphire eyes. The blue of the sapphire was pure and beautiful and only held wants and desires at the moment.
I try not to stare at his eyes further as I feel uncomfortable, but it was hard for me to ignore the image in front of me. Aside from the fact that he has a beautiful set of sapphire eyes, his features were nothing compared to what I had seen all my life.
I have been in three relationships and my exes were nowhere close to beating this man in terms of handsomeness. He is handsome, not perhaps in the conventional senses, but he had that appearance that could make him stand out in the crowd, after all, he is Ethan Greyson.
He is fair, almost pale white, and has thick, glossy wavy dark hair which was combed smoothly, giving him that killer look.
The Blazers he wore showed off the tattoos on his arms and the one that stayed single on his neck. His broad shoulders, which were built like tanks, were too visible to ignore even in his clothes.
He screamed for perfection but he's still a rude and commanding man. I wonder why this handsome guy turns out to be the worst.
“Fine, I will marry you.” I finally gave my answer and could see his obsidian orbs glint with excitement and...triumphant?
I finally arrived at my apartment after a long trek of almost three hours. After agreeing to marry him, we exchanged contacts and I left. Nonetheless, I realized that I didn't have any cash on me and had to trek home.
I look down at my stomach and hear it grumbling. Damn! I'm so hungry right now. I walked into the kitchen and opened the cupboards but they were all empty, leaving only dust in them.
I can't even remember the last time I prepared a meal. All I did was eat out as it was cheaper than preparing one's meals.
“I guess I will have to sleep hungry tonight.” I can barely hear my voice too. I am way too hungry to speak loudly.
I slowly walked to my bed and collapsed gently on it. I live in an apartment, so it was easy and less tiring for me. As soon as I closed my eyes, submitting to the cold evening breeze that was coming through my window, a knock sounded on my door.
“Who could it be?” I whispered as I stared at the door in terror. I suddenly felt a chill as I took a step at a time to the door. Although the time was just a few minutes to eight, I was still feeling scared.
The neighborhood was a lousy and dangerous one. It had the cheapest apartments but there has been a series of robberies and arson. I guess that is why it must be cheap...lack of security.
Grabbing my umbrella close to my bedside, I took a slow and steady walk to the door. The knock came again, this time more like a bang and my hand flew to my chest.
Fuck! Just Who the hell was it?
Flustered enough, I swiftly opened the door only to reveal my Landlord in front of me. He glared hard at me before tossing an envelope to my face.
“You have just three months to pay your bill, Ashley. Otherwise, I won't hesitate to kick you out this time.” he huffed loudly before walking away.
I looked at the bills in my hand and a sigh escaped my lips. “Ashley Benjamin, you are in the big soup”
Morning came quickly, perhaps I didn't see it coming as I was too engrossed in saving new clothes designs online last night. I tried to start my morning routine but my eyes failed me and I fell miserably back on my bed.
I closed my eyes, giving in to the morning sleep, however, the sound of my ringtone stopped me halfway. A gasp escaped my lips when I saw that the caller was Ethan Greyson.
Why was he calling so early in the morning? Did something happen? Doesn't he want to get married to me again? Damnit! I'm doomed.
I decided to push aside those thoughts and answer the phone instead. As soon as I placed it on my ear, his baritone voice came out and somehow I found myself blushing.
“Good morning Ashley, I trust you had a blissful night?” he asked in a rush and stayed quiet for a second before he continued. “I will send you an address right now. Meet me there in thirty and no questions asked.” with that, he hung up.
He didn't even give me room to speak, such an arrogant man! He has so much pride and can't even hide it at all. Why didn't he just tell me the address over the phone?
I was still grumbling when a message appeared on my phone's screen and I flinched from my spot.
He wants us to meet at the mall.
Ethan PovThe atmosphere in the dining room was getting more and more suffocating as we ate. Early this morning, Mr. Greyson, my grandfather, invited me for breakfast alongside my uncle, Jonathan.I couldn't eat anything but found myself stabbing the steak in my plate while glaring hard at Jonathan. Oh sweet lord, how much I wish he was the one on my plate other than the steak.Grandpa knew too well that Jonathan and I never got along, so why did he have to call us both over? Was he trying to play some sort of game? Or did he call to announce the company being handed over to Jonathan?I was way too curious that I simply stared at my grandfather as he ate hastily. Just then Jonathan cleaned his mouth with a wipe and I knew he was about to say something.“The meal is so delicious father, it reminds me of the old days when Ethan's parents were still alive,” he said with a smile, and my grandfather who was in the middle of twirling a few strands of spaghetti into a ball halted and wiped h

"Where are you coming from? And what happened to you?" Ryan asked with a concerned look on his face. I couldn't help but smile at his worried face. "The place isn't important. I guess I just needed to let out some tears, so don't mind me," I replied casually, attempting to downplay the situation. Shifting the subject to lighten the mood, I continued, "Anyway, what do you have in the house? I'm famished." Ryan chuckled dryly, most likely aware of his bachelor lifestyle. "You know I'm a bachelor, right? I don't have any food in the house. Let's order some food instead. What would you like to eat?" Taking a moment to consider my options, I replied, "Fried chicken and chips." Without skipping a beat, Ryan pulled out his phone to place the order."Wait!" I exclaimed, blinking my eyes like a baby, trying to capture Ryan's attention. "What did you want again?" he asked, slightly infuriate. "Can I get some Chinese dishes?" I requested, hoping to change up our food selection. Ryan scoffed
"Yeah, thanks very much, I'll be expecting the pay," I replied with gratitude and a hint of excitement before I gently dropped the call. ASHLEY P.O.V"I don't have anything with me apart from my ID," I replied, attempting to sound bold. But despite my best efforts, my voice betrayed me, coming out shaky instead. As I filled out the loan application, my hands trembled, making it difficult to write my name with confidence. Deep down, I knew my financial history was far from ideal, and I couldn't help but feel a pang of fear that the secretary would reject me outright. Ethan opened his eyes, his surroundings unfamiliar. It soon became clear that he was in a hospital room. Frustration welled up within him as he realized that he despised being surrounded by crowds, a fact that Andrew seemed to know all too well and still forced him to go to the club with him . "You're awake," Andrew said with a smile before rushing out to call the doctor. Minutes later, the doctor arrived and conducted some tests on Ethan's body. "You're in good health now, but it seems you need to address your fear of crowds with a therapist," the doctor stated. Ethan, however, promptly stood up from the bed. "Thanks, but I don't require therapy," he replied curtly. The doctor tried to assert his authority, cautioning Ethan to rest for a while longer. Unperturbed, Ethan retorted, "You can't dictate what I should do," and proceeded to walk out of the hospital, determined to assert his independence. "He never listens," the doctor muttered under his breath. Just then, Ethan's phone
