Anthony's point of view

Vanessa was allergic to almost all types of flowers so I had to get plastic ones. Plastic roses that Ronald was sure would win her heart.

"I feel like I was too harsh with her when I told her not to visit her dad without me or any other person," I told him at the flower shop.

"This is my way of redeeming myself and making everything right, she has been acting kind of distant too," I added.

Ronald nodded, he had also bought one bouquet each of roses and lilies for Mary.

"Isn't it too soon for her to move in? Have you guys even gotten to know yourself past sex?" This was going to be my first and only time of bringing this topic up. They were adults and needed no intervention from me.

Ronald shrugged "She has spent a couple of nights with me where we didn't have sex and also a couple of mornings and afternoons so we were pretty compatible," He adjusted the bouquets on his hands so they wouldn't fall to the floor.

Anthony's point of view Vanessa went to bed immediately, she refused to talk to me and I knew there was nothing I would say at the moment that would make her listen to me.I had to let her be.My mother on the other hand would not let me be, she arrived an hour after I arrived at home and she looked like she drove through a hurricane to get here. She was absolutely livid."I warned you Anthony, I warned you not to do anything foolish," Those were her words immediately she saw me, "No one stopped you from having sex with multiple women, try to make sure they don't tell the public" She continued.Geez. I did not think I needed that sort of chastising at the moment.I pressed my fingers on my head trying to clear the headache that was determined to show despite the fact that I took some painkillers few moments ago. I couldn't deal with this woman in this condition."Please mother," I finally said.I had this grand idea that that would be enough to hold her back. It wasn't. It seemed to

Anthony's point of viewIf someone had told me I would be in a meeting with Vanessa, Josephine and a lawyer someday, I would have thought they were lying and tell them to go away.Heck, it was happening right in front of me and I still couldn't believe it."Well well well, nice to see you again Vanessa," Josephine said the moment she walked into the apartment, her eyes moved around trying to get everything in.I realized I had never taken Josephine to this apartment before. It was always the other house.Vanessa rolled her eyes at her and said nothing. She just reclined into her seat and folded her hands across her chest."Well if you aren't going to say anything to me, isn't it best I just walk out of this door," Josephine said again, the smile on her face was disappearing every second Vanessa ignored her.She was just being childish."Sit down Josephine, I can't stand any of your whining this morning please," I said as a way to get her to shut up.The headache that had disturbed me

Vanessa's point of viewThere was no way I would be able to continue living like this. Just no way.I waited though, I wanted no one to find out about what I was doing and try to talk me out of it. Anthony had gone for some sort of board meeting at work, he promised to solve the issue as best as he could and get Josephine to find something else. I allowed him touch me for the very last time."Hey Victor," I said the moment my younger brother picked up his phone. He sounded sleepy but I knew he took in every word I said."I'll see you in an hour," I said at the end before I ended the call.Unfortunately for me, I had a lot of things I wanted to bring with me. Some knick knacks I gathered over the months, gifts that were too beautiful to be left behind from both Anthony and others, clothes I needed and some of my designs.I might not have made it under Valentine's teachings but I knew I was meant to be a fashion designer. I would get there one day.Josephine hadn't said anything about

Vanessa's point of viewWorking for Dave was something different. He was almost never around and when he was around, he made advances at me that was uncalled for most of the time.A manager in an upcoming club wasn't what I expected. I was responsible for making the club a success in Los Angeles, a home to multiple other clubs. I was responsible for finding responsible staff who wouldn't run away with our drinks and money. And I was doing this while pregnant. The second trimester came like a bitch. After the vomiting and headache came the constant need to stay in bed most of the time. It was honestly one of the most challenging times in my life."You don't look so good honey," Dave said one day when he came into the house I had gotten for Victor and myself at a part of town that was relatively cheap and still good looking.Dave had offered to get us a good house but I didn't want it. He had given me a job and that was enough for me, I didn't want to ask for more favours.I placed an

  • A Marriage Of Convenience   Chapter Sixty Six- Love Vanessa

Anthony's point of viewThe worst thing a man could come home to would be an empty house and a runaway wife. I had thought it was a vacation like the first time honestly, I thought she needed space and time to comprehend what happened.I still didn't know what to do with Josephine though. She went out of her way to appear in some more interviews, though she said nothing about Vanessa anymore, she just talked about the undying love she had for me and how she would do anything to get me to love her again. My lawyer had done his work then. But even he couldn't work miracles.I couldn't handle staying in the house alone, everything reminded me of Vanessa. Her scent lingered in the air and without having sex for the past days, it turned me on to a degree I didn't like.I wasn't planning on jerking myself off, I needed Vanessa for anything to happen so I left the apartment.Booked a room in one of my hotels and just cramped myself inside there, attending most meetings there and just working

  • A Marriage Of Convenience   Chapter Sixty Seven- Architect of a problem

Anthony's point of viewLiving with Josephine made me remember the reasons why I detested marriage. She was absolutely horrible and wasn't even anything like the woman I slept with some time ago while she was still my secretary.Five months since Vanessa and Victor took off. Our contract would be dissolved in ten months time, business was booming and everyone wanted a Thorn hotel and suite. Even the real estate I ventured in just for the fun of it was going on very well."You look miserable today boss," Lucas said the moment he saw me.I rolled my eyes at him. His father had wanted him to work for just a month or two with me but Lucas seemed to like the job acted we sorted out our loose ends. He was the best personal assistant I had ever had."Doesn't he look miserable everyday?" Ronald asked, he had this big smile on his face as he clapped me hard on the back.Ha ha. I laughed a bit."I doubt Vanessa would go back to him when she finally comes back, he really let himself go," Lucas t

Vanessa's point of viewMonth five.My abdomen protruded out of most of my clothes, announced my pregnancy to the whole wide world but that didn't stop the flirting from Dave or the whistles from the other men. Constantly, I drew attention wherever I went to."I'm surprised mu... Elizabeth is yet to find us, I had given her just a week and here we are at month three," Victor said one morning during breakfast.I ignored the little mistake he was about to make, calling Elizabeth mom when he knew he wasn't related to her in any way. Plus I was really tired, I had to spend almost half of my sleeping hours balancing the records of the club so I could send the monthly reports to Dave.He wasn't going to give me a free pass just because I was pregnant and he flirted with me." I'm happy they haven't found us, I don't like them and I don't want to go back," I snapped."Who said anything about going back?" Victor questioned me, sometimes he gave me the vibe that he wanted to be strangled."I m

Vanessa's point of view.He weighed seven pounds and made me scream for hours. Dave and Victor were with me, Dave comforted me when I became snappy and temperamental. He brought me food, he brought me some magazines and what not to take my mind off the labour pain.Victor however held my hands and told me stories even when it seemed I wasn't listening. He was good at that, constructing stories out of thin air and telling them in a waubrgat captured your attention."You're going to make it," Dave said when I was being rolled into the delivery room.Victor requested to go with me and though I didn't want to traumatize the child with the trials of labour, he insisted and I allowed him.He was the first person to hold the baby."He looks just like Anthony," He cooed at the baby while I was being cleaned up."He looks like a squashed cabbage," I said the snarky reply. When I placed the baby to my breast, I hadn't decided on a name yet, I noticed he had some of the features of Anthony. Anthony's point of viewEverything was a blur after that. Mom kept on screaming, she lost that calm composure she normally had whenever something was amiss. Mary started crying profusely and Vanessa tried to calm her down.It was all chaotic.Dad however, brought out a cigarette from from his pocket and lit the stick up. He took in a huge drag from the stick and blew the air out.In all my years of living, I had never seen my dad smoke before. I guessed you don't know everyone, not even someone you've lived with for a huge chunk of your life and once considered your role model."What's the matter boy? Haven't seen your old man smoking before?" He asked then smiled at me. He looked creepy now.Another stick was brought out of his pocket and extended towards me. He wanted me to join him.I moved backwards, "I'm sorry but I don't smoke" I told him.He chuckled, the sound different somehow. More morbid."Everyone dabbles in sin now and then, helps us keep a sharp mind," He told me.The so

Vanessa's point of viewThe dinner was Anthony's idea. He invited Elizabeth and Daniel, Ronald and Mary and I invited Victoria and Victor. I invited my dad and mom."I want to stay away from anything the Thorns are involved in dearest, I'm sorry but I won't be able to make it," Mom politely declined."There's no problem but I would be able to call you so you can chip your opinions right,?" I asked her.I could see her weighing her options, deciding if this would be worth the risk."My friend is suffering in silence, something needs to be done to stop this guy once and for all," I chipped in the one thing I knew would help the case. The one thing she might agree to.She sighed, "You can call me whenever you need to buy make sure they don't get my number."I ended the call and went back to preparing for the dinner.Anthony had been quiet for the past few hours after he decided that this was what we needed. He just went about playing with Xavier and staying out of my way.I watched them

  • A Marriage Of Convenience   Chapter Eighty Three- Your father Daniel

Anthony's point of view. The sound of Vanessa's moans was the only thing I could hear. The way she called my name and begged me to touch her whenever I teased her for too long was something my body had missed for so long."Princess, you have to relax," I teased her with my teeth, gently nipping on the nipple while I played with the other breast with my hand. She would have glared at me if she could, "Stop wasting precious time, Victor would be back with Xavier soon," She said admist moans of pleasure.I chuckled, "Tell me how much you want me then princess," I slid two fingers inside her and curved it upwards, gently massaging with enough added pressure."I am going to kill you Anthony," She tried to say but the moans was too much for her, she was almost a whimpering mess underneath me.I stopped immediately I knew she was on the verge of an orgasm. I withdrew my hand and just lowered my mouth downwards to place a kiss on her neck."You're torturing me," She whispered in my ears, her

  • A Marriage Of Convenience   Chapter Eighty Two- You have got to be kidding me

Vanessa's point of viewI was alone again for a few minutes. Mom had to make a call and her absence for those minutes gave me the time to reflect on what she had said about Daniel and the sort of things Dad's friends did to her.If she wasn't lying then something other the drugs was seriously wrong with dad. He hadn't even had the decency of telling us about this.Trading your wife to your friends was the sickest type of thing anyone could do. It was absolutely disgusting. The door opened again and mom came inside the room. I was more than ready to leave this place but something in me told me she wouldn't be as open as she was here outside. She was secure enough to say such things here. She wasn't secure outside."Did you tell any of my siblings this?" I asked."No, I don't think I can tell them. They wouldn't understand especially that sister of yours, Victor wasn't attached to me when I was there, sometimes I even thought he hated me," She said, I felt the pain in her voice even tho

  • A Marriage Of Convenience   Chapter Eighty One-My mother's side of the family

Vanessa's point of view"Isn't it better we just put this all behind us, honestly I don't think we should meet that woman and open old wounds," Victoria tried to talk me out of the it that day.I was back in Los Angeles and we were all in the house together. Anthony wanted to come with but he had some pressing matters to attend to in town, he kept in touch though.I then turned to Victor, he had a right to give me his opinion too.He shrugged, "She left when I was young and I wouldn't lie and say I don't want to know the reasons and meet her, I honestly do but it's too much, I don't think I'm ready yet," He turned his face to the side so I wouldn't see the tears that were already forming in his eyes."I'm still trying to prevent the bad memories of dad from coming to the surface when I come close to him," He added.I pursed my lips at those words. I had to make Victor see a therapist to help him, what was I saying..... The entire family needed to see a therapist because there must be

  • A Marriage Of Convenience   Chapter Eighty -Good riddance

Vanessa's point of view"What the heck?"I did not know who uttered those words between Anthony and myself. Out of all the scenerios I had imagined would happen when I finally came to this house, this wasn't what I expected."Josephine," That was definitely Anthony, he held the baby's head with his hand because the shock of the first shout had startled him and he was crying.Anthony had also had the intelligence to bring out his phone and he started recording the scene. He gave me the phone to continue so he could rock Xavier back to sleep."I did not know you were coming now," Josephine jumped out of the man's body, his dick was limp now as he tried to wear his clothes as fast as he could.Anthony seemed to know him."I didn't expect this from any of you, especially you. You're fucking married," Anthony shouted at the man, I was still recording but I made sure Anthony wasn't in the clip.Just Josephine and the man."I'm so sorry, I'm sorry," The man kept on repeating, when he was don

  • A Marriage Of Convenience   Chapter Seventy Nine- What the heck

Vanessa's point of viewReturning back to town wasn't something I had thought about in a long time. Honestly, I figured we were going to just stay in Los Angeles, plant roots down or just leave the place when we desire.Anthony assured me Elizabeth wouldn't take my brother and son away from me, I hadn't seen her yet by the way but Anthony told me she had come. For a brief amount of time however and had left like there was something on her tail."I can't believe I'm leaving Kylie and all my new friends behind again, I was just starting to fit in," Victor complained to no one in particular, he was in his room putting clothes in his bags.I felt bad I was uprooting him from a new life to the old one again after I initially uprooted him from an old life to this. It honestly wasn't fair to the kid but I didn't know what I was going to do.Anthony and I had decided to give it a try again. A real try this time because there was nothing that could stop us, nothing that would come in the way o

  • A Marriage Of Convenience   Chapter Seventy Eight-Reconciliation

Vanessa's point of viewThe light was blindingly bright and annoying. They should tell the hospital team to work better and build better lights so someone wouldn't wake up and then think she had gone to heaven. The beeping sound of the machine attached to me annoyed me but I let it be, I was still a little bit detached from reality and I did not want to do anything I would regret later on.A figure was seated on the chair by the side, head bent so I couldn't figure out who she was on time. It was Victoria though."Victoria," I tried to call out, my voice felt scratchy and hoarse from lack of use.She didn't stir so I figured out she was asleep. I did not know how long she had been with me so I allowed her to sleep. I drifted off to sleep few minutes later.I woke up two times after. The second time no one was with me and I was groggily anxious, I almost ripped the needles they had attached to me. Luckily a doctor walked into the room at that exact time and was able to sedate me.I sa

  • A Marriage Of Convenience   Chapter Seventy Seven- Accident

Vanessa's point of viewRegrets. Confusion. Those were the only emotions I felt throughout Anthony's little visit and when he left. Then I felt disappointment because of the way my body reacted to him when he came, when he had us against the wall. The warmness and heat that seemed to pool in between my legs was something I hadn't felt for a very long time. I thought it was because of the pregnancy or childbirth so I didn't think anything was wrong with me.Then Victor. Oh my baby. I had done something I hadn't expected myself to do, all in all I behaved rather poorly when I thought about it."Victor," I whispered before knocking on his door.I had this nagging feeling that Victor would be gone from his room and from my life because he couldn't stand the kind of sister I had become. He would go back to the waiting arms of Elizabeth Thorn."Victor," I called out again, knocked harder but still no response. Was this the silent treatment phase? I opened the door and walked in to find Vic
