Stanley turned his attention back to the girl inside the cage as it kept twirling slowly. Her face came into his view and although her eyes were covered, he could tell that she was afraid.

Her lips were parted in fear as she seemed to be breathing very fast and he saw tears trickling down her face. He was someone who liked to mind his business. He didn't like complicating his life unnecessarily especially when it involved things he believed were illegal.

The first man that raised his tag, agreeing to pay fifty million dollars for Lana instantly caught Stanley's attention. He stared at the man. He was old and bald and seemed to be around his sixties.

As he looked back at Lana, Stanley briefly imagined the old man trying to force himself on her. He felt disgusted and the thought almost made him puke.

Other men began to bid for her as well. One bid fifty-three, another, sixty, yet another, seventy. Each time, Stanley looked at them and could not deny that they all disgusted him.

They finally arrived at ninety million dollars. Since no one else raised the bid, Stanley closed his eyes when he heard the man say, ninety million dollars going once, going twice...."

"Hundred million dollars," Stanley said, shocking both himself and his friend who sat beside him. So many people turned to look at him and he felt quite uncomfortable because he was someone who valued keeping a good reputation.

He kept looking at Lana and convinced himself that what he had done was the right thing. The man who had almost gotten Lana at ninety million dollars raised his bid to one hundred and twenty dollars.

Stanley stared at the disgusting man and decided to bring the auction to an end. "Two hundred and fifty million dollars." He said as he raised his tag.

All the other men decided to back off as the amount Stanley had called was too ridiculous to pay for just one girl. The criminal who had brought Lana to the black market was in shock.

When he had arrived with Lana, he had proposed to auction her off at one million dollars but after taking one look at her, the man in charge had told him that people would surely pay more for her.

When he had first heard the man say fifty million dollars, he had shaken his head because he believed that no one in their right mind would pay such an amount.

After Stanley offered two hundred and fifty million dollars for her, he was forced to come out and take a good look at him. Stanley was a young man who seemed to be in his early thirties and in his opinion only those old sleazebags would pay that amount of money for a girl.

He wondered what Stanley wanted to do with Lana which prompted him to agree to part with such an amount. He felt really lucky that he had spared Lana's life and taken her to the black market. In the end, just one right decision finally changed his life.

The moment Lana heard "sold," her heart broke into a million pieces. When the criminal and the lady had first brought her to the market, she had tried to struggle when they wanted to put her in a cage.

They didn't want to inflict any wounds on her body since it could be a turnoff for their intending clients so the criminal had whispered into her ear, "if my purpose of bringing you to this market today is not achieved, I will take you back to my house and fuck the hell out of your p**sy before strangling you to death.

I won't even waste my time trying to bury you. I will throw your body inside the bush and let the vultures feed on it."

After hearing his threats, Lana had been so terrified that she obeyed every single instruction she was given. He had also warned her not to make any sound during the auction which was why despite wanting to shout for help, she had been too afraid to let the words out of her mouth.

Her lips parted so many times but she closed them back for fear of what the criminal could do to her. As she heard different men offer prices on her head, she told herself that the world was too cruel.

She had earlier believed that as long as she was alive, there was hope but she finally gave up. If she had known that she would end up in a cage at the black market, she would have quietly allowed herself to be killed alongside the other girls.

She would have saved herself so much heartache. She finally gave up hope on living as she believed that an old disgusting man must have paid for her so he could sexually abuse her for the rest of his life. No, she would not give anyone that satisfaction.
