Jack's POV

I sat on the edge of the bed, watching Kate from a distance as she brushed her hair. She had this soft glow about her lately— I guessed that it was the pregnancy that was doing that.

Her usually flat belly had grown more round, and soft, and with it came the tiny signs of a life I not should have been more excited about.

But this was the problem, I was not, and I wasn't sure why.

This was what I’d always wanted, wasn’t it? A family, a child to continue my family's legacy. Yet now, as I watched Kate, the woman who was supposed to be the mother of my children, all I could feel was this heavy sense of detachment. like I was watching someone else's life or a movie, not my reality.

I tried to remind myself several times that this was real. Kate was carrying my child, our child, and I was supposed to be filled with joy, but I wasn’t. All I could think about was Tamara—where she was, what she was doing, and how much I had lost when she slipped through my fingers. My chest t

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    Ivonnes declaration

Ivonnes povI sat on the edge of the bed, hands clenched in my lap, staring at the floor like it might give me answers if I looked hard enough.Meanwhile, Hector kept silently pacing. Back and forth. Back and forth. The room felt too small for his long strides, too tight for the weight pressing on my chest. Every time he passed me, I felt the rush of air, the tension rolling off him in waves. He looked like a man trying to outrun his own thoughts—and failing.“Hector,” I said softly. He didn’t stop.“Hector please talk to me,” I repeated, louder this time.He paused near the window, his back to me, shoulders stiff.“You have to tell me Why.” I asked, my voice breaking despite my effort to stay calm. “Tell me Why you suddenly want to end the engagement you kept pushing for.”He stayed quiet for a long moment. Then he turned, his expression grim, eyes dark with something that looked dangerously close to guilt.“Alright, Lets say tonight you got lucky, but Lucky or not,” he said slowly,

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    Are you kidding me

Ivonnes povI opened my mouth to answer him—and nothing came out.Hector was still looking at me with that same incredulous expression, like he was trying to solve a puzzle that refused to make sense but I couldn't blame him because I felt it too.I felt that hollow confusion sitting heavy in my chest. I genuinely didn’t know how I had done it. I didn’t know how I’d fought off two Lycans for that long, how my body had moved faster than my thoughts, how panic had somehow turned into strength.“I don’t know,” I finally admitted, my voice small. “I swear. I don’t know how I did it. Maybe I was just lucky? or maybe the goddess just granted me favor." I smiled a little uneasily."Luck?" Hector whispered then studied my face for a long moment, searching for something— maybe fear, deceit, answers I didn’t have. Then, slowly, his shoulders loosened And he shook his head.“Whatever, We’ll figure it out later,” he said at last, brushing it aside with effort. “Right now, that’s not what matters.

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    Impossible escape

Ivonne's povI didn’t even get a chance to scream before I was attacked.A rough hand clamped over my mouth from behind, cutting off the gasp before it could escape, and I was yanked backward so hard my feet nearly left the ground. My heart slammed against my ribs.No. No no no— Not again!I thrashed instantly, nails digging into skin, heels scraping uselessly against the gravel path as whoever it was dragged me away from the glow of the manor lights. They were terrifyingly strong. Stronger than any person I’d ever struggled against, Especially stronger than the people who attacked me last time.Every step I fought for, they took two without effort, pulling me farther and farther from the safety of the manor.Panic exploded in my chest.I twisted, elbowing backward, stomping down as hard as I could but The grip didn’t loosen. If anything, it tightened, the arm around my torso locking around me like iron.Oh Goddess! What was I supposed to do? How was I supposed to get out of this?!Th

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    Almost dinner

Ivonne's povI kept my eyes on the window as Justin’s car rolled smoothly down the road, the city lights blurring into long streaks of gold and white. The glass was cool against my temple, and for a moment, I pretended I was alone in the car, that the heavy conversation from earlier hadn’t happened at all.The silence stretched peacefully. Then Justin cleared his throat. “Ivonne… I want to say it again. I’m sorry. What I said back there—about Hector, about your choices—it wasn’t my place.”I exhaled slowly, my breath fogging the glass for a second before fading. “I know,” I said quietly. “And… I’m sorry too. I shouldn’t have snapped at you like that.”He glanced at me briefly before returning his eyes to the road. “It’s a touchy topic,” he said, almost gently. “I get that.”“It really is,” I admitted. “You hit a nerve. A very painful one.”He nodded, fingers tightening slightly on the steering wheel. “I figured as much.”We fell quiet again, but this time the silence wasn’t sharp. It

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    Acknowledging her feelings

Ivonne's POV I must have stood there for a second too long with the silence between us stretching until it became awkward and too loud in my ears.Justin frowned, his brows pulling together as he studied my face. “Ivonne, are you okay?… did I do something wrong?” he asked slowly. “Because you just went from connecting with me to… gone.”I inhaled and steadied myself. I could still feel that jolt in my chest, the shock of realizing whose face had flashed through my mind, whose lips I wanted without thinking. I hated that it had rattled me this much.“No,” I said quickly. “You didn’t do anything wrong.”“Then what was that?” he pressed. “You looked like you saw a ghost.”"Don't exaggerate Justin."I forced a small smile and stepped back, creating space between us on the stage. “But also… you remember this is supposed to be a fake date right?. I thought We agreed on that.”His expression shifted. “I know what we agreed on,” he said, softer now. “But I also know what I feel.”I sighed and

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    The only face she wants to kiss

Ivonne's povHow does he know any of this?!Juatin smiles and sits on the edge of the stage and gestures for me to come closer. I walk toward him slowly, like I’m afraid something might break if I move too fast.“You were 8 years old and was very excited because you are supposed to play the Moon Goddess in the biggest show of the city that year,” he begins, voice warm and storytelling-smooth.I nod faintly. “But everything turned bad because My costume got ruined.”“Everyone knew it was Not ruined, it was intentionally Destroyed,” he corrects. “By some jealous brat who wanted your role. They said she threw paint on it? Or cut it? No one ever confessed.”I nodded as Flashes of that night burst back in my mind. I could recall the panicked adults running around, shouting, swearing, trying to salvage something that couldn’t be saved.“Everyone thought the show was over,” Justin continues. “The director was on the verge of fainting. Your mom was crying. Your dad looked like he wanted to fi
