“It doesn’t matter who I am staying for Logan. What matters is the pack.” I stated as I rose to my feet, knowing fully well that his attention was still on me.

It was awkward and might have been embarrassing for him, but this wasn’t the time for me to start talking about another relationship with someone else. Lucian had hurt me badly enough. My life and marriage with him had inflicted a wound that was still wide open and hurting me so badly that I could barely think of another man.

Logan wasn’t bad at all, but him and I wasn’t going to work out, not with everything going on. He deserved someone better.

“Selena I didn’t mean to…” he began, but when I noticed the direction he was hinting at again, I decided to quickly change the topic entirely.

“The recent attacks,” I blurted out, and he paused, “they have been becoming a bit of a situation these days. What do you suggest we do about it?” I inquired, and he sighed heavily in defeat.
