Ricky’s POV

“What do you think about this Book of Impossible Tasks?” I asked both of my brothers as the car made its way back to the guest house. “I’ve heard about something like that some time ago but I paid no heed to such mythical tales.”

“I don’t think any of it is true. It’s probably some made-up plan of theirs to delay us until it’s too late for us to realize that we’re being fooled.” Cole answered, staring out the window.

“Do you think we should’ve gone down that route instead?” I asked.

“I’ll be honest with you, Ricky. I don’t think that option would’ve been better and the worst part was, if we had failed whatever tasks she had in mind for us, this entire journey would’ve been for nothing. We were fucked either way, we just had to find the lesser evil to deal with.”

I hated being here as much as I hated groveling in front of this irritable Alpha named Benjamin and Shannon as well. But what I hated the most was being left with no other option other than this degrading route
