Chapter 13 Reunion

"I'm touched by your concern, madam. My father's legs aren't what they used to be, but he's still as lively as ever."

"I want to see him." I gave him Yvonne's medical records. "Is this the same condition as Clarence's?"

The doctor took the records with stark confusion on his face as he inquired, "Clarence? Who do you mean, madam?"

I frowned. "My husband… ex-husband." He must be getting senile if he had forgotten about Clarence.

The doctor blurted in astonishment, "But when did you get married?"

I was so stunned that I snapped, "What?"

The doctor answered, "I've watched over you since you were a young girl. I had no idea you got married. Who's the lucky man?"

I fell silent for a long while. Memories flooded my mind. I remembered how I was born; I was held by the doctor before me, cooing. He wasn't as old as he was. The terrible parents I had were replaced by a loving couple.
