Maxwell gave Shirley a grand tour of his villa. It was a one storey building. The villa was so spacious with too many rooms to count. There were two sitting rooms, one of the sitting room had a fireplace with a cozy cushion right in front of it. Shirley loved the fireplace. But she loved the rooftop more. There was a jacuzzi right inside the other sitting room.

The villa had two kitchens and a lot of bedrooms. There was a workout gym with all the appliances a workout gym could have. There was an office space. A laundry room. A store room…

The villa had plenty of outdoor space. A basketball court. A spacious swimming pool. Behind the villa's building was a mini garden. And all around the villa, they were surrounded by nature. From the rooftop, one could see the stretch of trees all around them. It was peaceful. An escape. Shirley loved it there.

After the tour, Max fixed them both something to eat, Shirley assisted him, enthusiastically.

After breakfast, Shirley went to take a sh

***WARNING: This chapter contains sexual contents that might not be suitable for readers below 18!***Shirley knew that their passionate moment was over when he started to move with her to the bed. He sat on the bed, carrying her to sit on him, so that she was facing him and still straddling him. She had not answered his question. But she didn't need to. He already knew the answer. She could see it in his eyes."Do you hate that I am a virgin?" she asked when he didn't say anything for minutes except stroke her cheeks and look at her. She wasn't sure the message he was trying to communicate to her with his eyes.Maxwell shook his head at her in negation, in response to her question. "I guess I am just surprised," he said, ending with a light chuckle. "I mean, you are in the entertainment industry. You have probably had a lot of boyfriends. You are amazing. Just how is it even possible that you are still a virgin?" Max ended with a question and Shirley just shrugged her shoulders."

Earlier, the director of the agency Maxwell worked with had texted him and he knew but he hadn't been able to check the text message because he had his hands full with Shirley. Now as he leaned by the railings of the balcony, he opened the text message. It was a simple text with two words, "Call Me!" A sigh escaped Max's lips as he closed the text, and then proceeded to call the director. "Mr Thomas," he muttered in greeting the moment the phone beeped to indicate that the call had been picked. "We have a situation, we need you at the agency ASAP," Thomas flustered voice rang out from the other line. "I understand," Max muttered, and then disconnected the call. He stayed outside for a few more minutes before he crept back into the bedroom to lie by Shirley's side. His actions woke her up. "What's going on?" she muttered, rubbing on her eyes as she spoke. "Umm, nothing love, I just went to the bathroom," he muttered, caressing her face as he gazed at her lovingly. "Come on, go

"I don't know love. I mean, I never had anyone to teach me any of these things. It was from my dad's journal that I learnt everything about our kind that I know so far," Max replied, ending with a sigh. Shirley let out a sigh herself. Maxwell continued. "Although there are a few books written by various people, most of who think werewolves are mystical creatures, some of these books actually contains true facts, most of them are exaggerations though," he said. "Werewolves are supposed to exist in packs but the man known as the hunter hunted down and killed every one of our kind. He left me most probably because the government demanded it," Maxwell paused as a thought occured to him. "The government must have been working with the hunter and even his ancestors from time memorial," he stated. "Why do you say that?" Shirley asked. "Just a thought," Max said. "There must probably be more of us out there, our generation," Shirley voiced out her thought but Maxwell shook her head at h

Mr Lucas Blakes let out a deep sigh, even creasing the lines of his forehead as he turned to his daughter. "I don't want to fire him, trust me, I will be more at ease having him remain your personal bodyguard but you did know that it was only temporary," he tried to explain. Maxwell studied Mr Blakes expression from where he stood. He was still unsure of whether the man knew that his daughter was a werewolf. He didn't even know if the man knew about him. There was nothing in his expression that gave him away. He seemed to be speaking to Shirley sincerely at the moment. Maxwell hadn't just cloned Mr Blakes phone, he had installed a recording device on it to record every conversation he had as long as he was the phone. The app was hidden in the man's phone so the man didn't even have a clue that it was there. From the recordings and all, Maxwell had been able to gather that the hunter was yet to tell Mr Blakes about him or his daughter being werewolves but Maxwell just couldn't be at

"You do know that this is a suicide mission, which makes me feel that I am finally disposable especially now that you have the successes you need," Maxwell did not bother to sugarcoat his words with the very high standing people in the room with him. There was no trace of anger in his face instead his face was expressionless with a smirk curving his lips. "The hunter won't kill you," the other woman said, there was a certainty in her voice. "Of course he won't. Killing me will be way too easy and the hunter is far too ruthless to do easy," Max spelt out. "We have faith in you Max," one of the men said. He was bald. "You can pull this off and we know it and that is why we trust you enough to let you in on our plans. We could have bundled you and sent you to the hunter and let him do whatever he wants with you but we don't want to, we want to work together with you to achieve something that will benefit us all," one of the men said, the one that had first addressed Maxwell when he

The car continued to speed on the highway until it took a sudden turn, entering a remote road with a stretch of woods on both sides of the road. A grunt like sound escaped Shirley's throat for the umpteenth time. The continuous rush of an indescribable feeling washing through her, the feel of her bones breaking, was killing Shirley. She didn't understand what was happening to her as occasionally, her bones snapped, making a popping sound, it was so painful that it forced a scream out of her mouth each time the snapping sound and pain washed through her. She knew that it was the full moon which was already beginning to be visible in the sky. She was turning. Amelia spared the struggling Shirley a quick glance, noticing that her eyes were now a glowing blue. A soft sigh escaped her lips as she returned her gaze to the road ahead. "We are almost there," she told Shirley in a comforting tone and Shirley gritted her teeth as she felt a sharp pain in her mouth, like she was suddenly gro

  • A LIFETIME TOGETHER   TALE OF THE FULL MOON’S CURSE

Shirley was quiet for a while as her brain tried to register the new information she had just heard. So witches exist too? It made her wonder how much more supernatural and mystical creatures, all thought to be folklores, actually existed. "Wow!" she muttered after a while, clearly appalled, and then her eyes fell to the wristwatch on her right wrist. "It is already dawn!" she exclaimed, her eyes darting towards Amelia who was now standing on her feet. "It is already dawn," Amelia repeated, her voice almost a quiet whisper. "So, umm, did I turn or not?" Shirley heard herself asking, It had been one of the many questions that had played in her head as soon as she had come to and had seen herself in this place. "Why, you would have loved to turn and perhaps have me take a picture of you as a wolf so you could see for yourself how wolf you look like?" Amelia asked, intending to be sarcastic but surprisingly, Shirley nodded her head in affirmation to her question, compelling Amelia to

  • A LIFETIME TOGETHER   HER FATHER’S PAIN

The sun, a golden big orb, was already standing proudly in the sky by the time Shirley returned to the Blakes Residence being driven by Amelia in her car. Although the sun was visible in the sky, its heat barely reached the inhabitants of earth as it was a cold morning.Getting out of the car almost at the same time with Amelia, Shirley’s head turned to the gateman who had let them in as the man had started to approach them after closing the gate.“Ma’am Blakes, your father is inside and he is furious,” the man who seemed to be in his late forties informed. Shirley only gave him a light nod, her expression neutral before she turned to Amelia who had walked round after getting out of the driver’s seat and was now standing beside her.The previous day, even before Amelia had arrived in the house, Shirley had told her personal maid Eva, that she was just going to be hanging out with her friend, that is Amelia and would leave with her as soon as she came but that wasn’t all, knowing that

Lucas Blakes seemed taken aback by Shirley's question so he didn't answer immediately. However, his expression turned sour as he too dropped his cutleries and leaned back on his chair, searching Shirley's eyes. "You were intimately involved with Max, so shouldn't you know? Didn't he tell you how he was sent by the government to spy on me and stop me from uncovering the truth about your mother's death? Did he not?" There was a certain heaviness with which Mr. Blakes spoke. Judging from how her father was speaking, Shirley could tell that he was expecting her to be surprised and even shocked by his sudden revelation about Max being a spy. So she feigned the reaction he was expecting. She knew her father well enough to know that he wasn't accusing her with his choice of words, he was simply revealing something to her. "Max was a spy sent by the government?" she asked, even lowering her voice so it was almost a whisper and pulling off a quite appalled expression on her face. He nodded

The smile Shirley wore proudly on her face was beginning to make her cheekbones hurt, still she kept the smile on her face as she kept posing for the camera. She was having a photo shoot session, modelling for a make-up brand of which she wasn't just a model but their spokesperson. The name of the makeup brand was, Glitters. "Let's take five," the director said to Shirley who nodded before moving away from the stage. Monique met her halfway, offering her a bottle of water, with the cap already off the bottle. "Thanks," she muttered to Monique and took a quick drink from the bottle before returning it to Monique who accepted it with a slight bow. Shirley moved her hands to massage her face, especially her cheekbones. "Get the last set of lipsticks, we are shooting that in 2," the director's voice rang out. Shirley knew that was her cue to go to the make-up artist so they could start trying the different shades of the last set of lipsticks on her, and then start shooting her, wearing

  • A LIFETIME TOGETHER   DRUNK SHIRLEY

It was quiet in the car as Amelia drove down the road until Shirley caught sight of a bar by the side of the road. "Pull the car over Amelia. Let's go there," she said to Amelia, pointing at the bar. Amelia sighed softly but she pulled the car over. She could use a drink herself. "I am getting drunk tonight," Shirley declared as she started to take off her seatbelt. "Wear this," Amelia said to Shirley, shoving a pair of sunglasses into her hands. "You are Shirley Blakes. There is nothing much this could do but it's better than nothing, wear it," Amelia urged. Shirley nodded slowly, and then put the sunglasses on. The two girls soon got out of the car, and then started for the bar. "I will have a shot of vodka please," Shirley said to the barman, a young handsome man, as she took a seat on one of the long stools by the bar counter. Amelia sat on another stool right next to her. The barman got started on Shirley's order, when he gave her the shot she gulped it all in one go. "

  • A LIFETIME TOGETHER   TOO LATE

Running on all fours, that is with both her hands and legs touching the ground, Shirley continued down the woods. She had used the route through the woods to the hospital as she couldn't quite run on all fours on the main roads. Not if she didn't want to cause a frenzy, she hadn't lost her rationality quite to that point. Amelia had tested Shirley's super speed during a few of their training session, how far she could go. Shirley could go faster than a speeding car. That was why she didn't bother to use a car. The thought that Max could already be on his way to kill her friends fueled her speed as she ran in the woods. Her eyes were a glowing blue, the fangs had grown out of her mouth, her claws were out too, her ears were a few inches longer... Shirley continued to race until she neared the hospital. Taking deep breaths in succession, Shirley stood on her two feet, and then started to dust off the mix of sand and grasses from her body and clothes. Her eye colour and ear size had retu

  • A LIFETIME TOGETHER   THE CONNECTION

"I don't understand, how can he not be human? And how the hell can you even tell?" Shirley asked. "I am a witch Shirley and witches can feel energy. Humans, werewolves, witches, every kind existing has energy unique to its kind," Amelia explained. "So is umm, Alexander a witch because he can't be a werewolf, if he was then his sister would be too and she would have most probably already healed from that bullet wound but she clearly hasn't, or is she a born wolf that hasn't turned yet, oh my God! Is that it?" Shirley blabbered, her gaze on Amelia intent. "Woah slow down Nation's Fairy, I did say he is something, didn't I? If he was a werewolf or a witch, I could have just said it point-blankly," Amelia pointed out. That's right, thought Shirley. "So what is he? Wait are there other kinds aside witches, werewolves and humans?" Shirley was astounded at the possibility. "Well, remember the time I mentioned gods existed?" Amelia asked and Shirley's eyes widened. "No way! Alex is a god

The day went by very quickly, after Shirley's examinations for the day, she stopped by at the hospital to check on Alicia. There was a crowd of reporters and the paparazzi at the entrance of the hospital when Amelia and Shirley arrived. When Shirley and Amelia stepped out of the car they had driven to the hospital, the reporters and paparazzi swarmed around them. "Shirley Blakes, are you here to visit Alicia Gilbert?" "Are you two close friends?" "What can you tell us about the shooting?" "Do you know anyone who could have targeted Alicia Gilbert?" They bombarded Shirley with countless questions, flashing their cameras and microphones on her face. The escorts that always followed Shirley around, led by Amelia, swung into action helping Shirley easily weave her way into the hospital with a natural smile, while they kept the reporters back. ****** "How is she doing?" Shirley asked as she moved closer to Alicia's bed, her eyes watering up on seeing the tubes and machines attached

  • A LIFETIME TOGETHER   SPILLED BEANS

It was soon dawn and Shirley hurriedly prepared for school. Her first semester examinations started today and even though her life had taken a huge drastic turn in the past few weeks, Shirley was confident that she would do very well in the exams and this was because, not only had Shirley been studying hard prior to the examination period, she was plenty experienced in her field of study. She had been working in her father's company since she could remember anyway. He had taught her everything about the business sector that he knew. After the first semester examinations which was going to last for a week, there would be a two weeks break, and then after the break, the rest of the academic year would be spent doing her internship at her father's company. That was the arrangement. As Shirley stood in front of her dressing mirror, she heaved in a deep breath, closing her eyes. When she opened her eyes, the colour had changed from chocolate brown to a glowing blue. She smiled, and then

Shirley was so immersed in her thoughts, Amelia noticed and that wasn't the only thing she noticed. Amelia could see some sort of turbulence playing in Shirley's chocolate eyes. "Is something wrong?" Amelia asked, taking light steps closer to Shirley and only stopping when there was just a small distance between them. Shirley's eyes blinked when Amelia spoke, and then she shook her head in negation, a little too quickly, compelling Amelia to furrow her eyebrows at her. "It's nothing," Shirley spoke in a tone so low, Amelia almost didn't hear her, and then she added, "We should go." "What happened to wanting to do everything within your power to help your friend?" Amelia asked with a raised eyebrow. She could tell that there was something Shirley wasn't telling her and she didn't like it. "I am helping her. At least we now have additional information about this person who shot my friend. The person had been in some other country until yesterday evening. And in that country, it had

  • A LIFETIME TOGETHER   HIS SCENT?

The cloud was still dark as the sun was yet to rise. Strong winds were blowing, compelling Shirley's hair to dance to its rhythm. Occasionally, a few strands of her hair would move to cover her face and she would have to hurriedly tuck them in behind both her ears. It was a futile move because it soon moved to cover her face again when the wind blew past her again, making her repeat the process of trying to tuck strands of her hair behind her ears. Shirley shuddered momentarily from the coolness of the early morning breeze that suddenly washed through her, and then she gripped both ends of her coat and zipped it all the way up. It had only been zipped halfway before. Her hair was all over her face again compelling a frustrated grunt out of her mouth, however, she did nothing about it anymore. "Picked up anything yet?" Amelia's voice sounded behind Shirley and the next thing Shirley knew the girl had moved to gather her hair in her hands, and then use a hair band she had fetched from
