Theodore bit a smile at the murderous look on her face. The woman was fire and storm and he was the wind bringing her to life. And God, he enjoyed watching the look on her face, the play of emotions in her eyes every time he pissed her off. It was almost becoming a sick desire for him. Yes, he was sick alright and Cathy Dark Storm with her fire-spitting brown eyes was awakening a new perverse sickness, a consuming desire to see how far he could push her before she bit him again.

Blood rushed to his cock as that perverse memory returned to his brain. He had abducted her – nothing personal, just another day on the job. And when he tried to feed her she chomped on his hand. He rubbed the spot absentmindedly.

“Mr. Cyneric I think we have no business together. You abducted me and you returned me. End of story.”

“Hmm you are forgetting I saved your life once and I just saved your life again.”

Her eyes sparked fire. “I had it all under control! And now I have 36 cases of useless drinks and no money.”

“You will have three trucks of drinks for free. Come on, Cathy it’s too early to fight. Let’s go in and discuss business.”

“If you think I’ll let you talk me into getting into my office…”

“You will because you want me to. Cathy if you didn’t want me here you would have torn me to shreds five minutes ago.” His eyes took on a darker color. “And you wouldn’t be dreaming about me.”

Her jaw dropped before she could stop it and even when she caught herself she couldn’t bring her mouth to open and deny it. How did he know?!

The man was as sexy as he was unsettling, everything about him set her off.

She looked away, that was a mistake. She was giving herself away but it was either looking away or punching her fist through his face, and as much as she despised the man she loved his face. It was pretty.

He was so close now that when he spoke his voice reverberated through her. “So? Are you going to talk about that here or should we take advantage of your privacy in your office?”

She glared at him again. “My office but nothing is happening. You’ll only be there for five minutes and you’ll tell me what you want as payback, I’ll pay you and you’ll be on your fucking way, okay?”

“Five minutes?”

“Five minutes, Mr. Cyneric.” And with that she whirled on her heels, expertly navigating the curb in those ridiculously high heels. No wonder Smoked Teeth and his group of idiots had thought about messing with her. She looked ridiculously sexy in those black heels and white dress. What the fuck kind of gown was that anyway? It left nothing to his imagination – and Theodore’s imagination was anything but limited where she was concerned.

Her perfectly rounded ass filled out the gown, her curvy hips tapered into finely shaped legs and he imagined himself taking his time worshipping both legs with hands and lips. And some tongue action too.

Would she like that?

Of course, she would. Cathy was a passionate woman, anyone with eyes could see that and so far Theodore was proving he wasn’t blind.

Cathy knew he was staring at her ass but she didn’t want to look. It was just like her dream, the green-eyed monster chasing her. She wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of looking back.

Her butt itched though. She bit her lips to keep from reaching back to touch it.

“Cathy, three trucks have just arrived out front,” Darren said running in from the back door.

Before Cathy could respond, Theodore jumped in. “Those should be my boys. You can tell them to offload the items.”

Once again Cathy struggled to stay focused on the stairs. He was trying to get a reaction from her, trying to get her to look back but she wouldn’t budge.

“Cathy?” Darren asked, his voice was lower. He wanted to know what she had to say after all she was his boss, not Theodore. Besides, he wasn’t about to lose his job just yet.

Unable to take it anymore Cathy looked back and caught Theodore’s gaze from the side of her eyes. The man was bold, she would give him that. He didn’t even try to hide the fact that he had been staring at her ass as he let his gaze trail slowly up her body until he was looking into her eyes, challenging her to challenge him.

Cathy looked away. “Get the drinks down to the basement, Darren.”

Darren nodded looking from her to Theodore with narrowed eyes. As soon as he walked away Theodore closed the space between them.

“He is protective of you.”

“Against monsters like you.”

“He is a pup. Do you like him?”

Was that an edge she detected in his voice? She almost laughed. He was jealous of Darren? She had every mind to feed his jealousy but she didn’t want to give him any ideas. The sooner he was out of the club the better.

Without answering his question, she closed the remaining distance to her office and threw the door open.

Theodore followed her his perfect brow marred with a frown for the first time. So that was all it took to wipe off the arrogant look from his face? She filed that knowledge away for later.

But as soon as she closed the door and turned around all rational thought flew from her head out through the open window. He was standing in front of her, an immovable wall in a perfectly fitting suit sans jacket. He was the image of perfection with his tall, sexy body, raven-black hair and the most penetrating green eyes she had ever seen. No man but Asher ever had this effect on her and even Asher was beginning to wane in comparison. Her mouth watered at the powerful picture he presented.

Cathy cleared her throat, trying to pretend that he didn’t affect her sex drive. She would have moved past him if he hadn’t hemmed her in. He was unsettling her for the upper hand.

So be it.

Crossing her arms she assumed her most business-like expression.

“So, Mr. Cyneric we are here now, what do you want?”

“You.”

Cathy expected him to tear her clothes off her, rip his clothes apart, and throw them out of the window so that he could throw her over her desk and take her roughly from any angle he liked. She could actually feel the weight of it in her belly.A bad taste flew into her mouth. She had begged for Christ’s sake! By evening the club was bubbling with activities. The red lights had been turned on to give a sense of intimacy to the partiers. Everything was going smoothly. Darren had gotten Carl to install the disco lights just as Cathy asked him to and Taylor had gotten the wolf and vampire props Cathy had ordered. Those props were in high demand, especially from a group of college sororities that frequented the club during the weekend. They were a group of girls highly infatuated with all things supernatural. Now they had wolf masks, fake vampire teeth, flurry wolf ears, and tails on while they partied with the real creatures they tried to imitate. But they didn’t know that. Cathy’s policy made it clear that the exclusive supernatural members were free to do as they pleased as long as they didn’t hurt the humans or reveal themselves. They only had to keep up appearances to attract more clubbers. Under Cathy’s leadership, Phoenix’s Claws was doing better than it was even under Ezra Dark Storm’s

His eyes went dangerously dark and for a second Cathy wished she hadn’t asked that question. Then he dropped the knife and slowly washed his hands under the running water, wiping his hands clean before coming round the counter. Cathy spun on her heels as she watched him stroll over to where she stood. She pressed her back into the edge of the marble counter when he came to stand in front of her. Green eyes bore into hers as he leaned close. “Eager are you?” She swallowed. His voice was deep and it rumbled through every fiber of her body. She was nervous and began to ramble. “Look I understand that you want to take things slow but…” He placed a hand on her lips to stop the flow of words. “But you couldn’t resist begging.” “I am not begging,” she said defiantly. He dropped one hand down to touch her through the flimsy material of her skirt and smirked when she drew in a breath. “Are you sure?” She opened her mouth to deny again when he increased the pressure of his hand on her, pa

Cathy realized belatedly that she shouldn’t have revealed that because his grin disappeared in a second. So she pasted a smile on her face and urged him to come closer.“That’s an advantage, Ted. You don’t have to worry.”But he didn’t budge. “Leaving already?” Edward and Cathy stopped before his car. They were just about to get in when Veronica ran out of the club. She was surprised to see them leaving especially since the night was still young. “Any problem with that?” She came to stand in front of him, her eyes shadowed with confusion. “You have never left before the night is over, Edward.” “And I choose to leave early today, Kitty do you have a problem with that?” “I – I -,” her eyes drifted to Cathy who stood silently beside Edward still dressed in her lingerie. “No, I don’t have a problem with it.” “Good. Rebel and I are going home. You should be able to take care of the club while I’m gone, right?” his voice had become deep. She nodded. “Yes, Edward.” “I mustn’t lose any money tonight, Kitty, not even 1% of what I earned yesterday, have you heard me?” She nodded. “Yes, Edward.” He slipped his arm around Cathy’s waist. “Come, my dear, let’s go.” Veronica stood there and watched as they walked to the car wh

Dressed in a black silky chemise, Cathy followed Veronica who led her to the back of the stage.Veronica was muttering something about her not being ready for a show yet and why Edward could not see that when she glanced over at Cathy.Cathy’s face was blank. She simply stared ahead at the back curtains leading to the stage with her hands clasped in front of her. Her amber eyes were dull, and her eyelids fell heavy, causing her lashes to fall just shy of her cheekbones. It created a very sultry look that even Veronica had to admit looked sexier than that of their best dancer. She cocked a brow silently as she thought to herself, maybe she is ready. While they waited for the next dancers to leave the stage, footsteps suddenly came running toward them.Even though she heard them Cathy stared ahead. It was Veronica who looked back to see what the commotion was all about. Several of Edward’s girls were making their way toward them with huge frowns on their faces.“Kitty!” they cried out.

The club was larger than anything she had ever seen. Not that Cathy had any memories of clubs that she had seen. As soon as she walked in with her arm locked with Edward’s, her eyes widened. It was a very huge establishment. It had high arched ceilings that had been converted with round glass bulbs throwing different colors of lights all over the place. Speakers hung from almost every corner of the wall, booming loud banging music that made the ground shake beneath their feet. The ground was black tiled and it was marble. It was clean too. Edward had a policy about neatness in his club so while drinks were passed around, staff made sure they moved silently through the crowd to mop up anything that may have been spilled. But that was just the common area and though it was spectacular to look at it was still a common area with lots of people and cheap drinks around.Edward released her arm and slipped his arm around her waist. “Come.”Veronica had led the other girls to the back to get

“I’m guessing that’s something related to my sister?” Chase did not hesitate to ask as soon as Teddy announced that news.“It might be,” Ted responded.Asher returned with some clothes which he tossed across the room at Ted who easily caught them. He dressed quickly turning his lips down at the corners at the thought of wearing clothes that did not belong to him. But he couldn’t complain because he was in the enemy’s territory and he was lucky to still have his head on his shoulders especially because he was responsible for the disappearance of one of the most valued members of their pack.He finished dressing and then turned to Teddy. “Where did Max say he was?”“Still hunting down the Shadow. One of the other guys claimed he might have had an encounter with him so Max is following that lead.”“Which may be wrong,” Chase interjected.“But following it is worth a try. “Will you explain what the heck is going on here?”Asher’s tone was deceptively calm. Anthony could sense not just the confusion, he could also sense the fear he felt at seeing Ted awake without knowing what the heck to expect. He understood Asher’s fear but he also understood his anger. Even Chase and Carl were both angry and fearful and they kept respectful distances. The only people who didn’t subconsciously back off from him and Ted were Maggie and Teddy.Maggie came forward and put her arms akimbo. “So, would you two explain what the heck I going on here?”“Just as soon as he closes his and Ted’s skull,” Carl chipped in, disgust lacing his voice.“Give me a moment,” Anthony told them and he stood up. Anthony remained where he stood for a moment. Now he had the man, he just had to convince him to come back to life. It would not be an easy task and now Anthony was beginning to wonder if he had made a mistake. He had been lucky enough that those drops of water, like bread crumbs, had led him to Theodore. Ted himself were those water drops. He had wanted Anthony to find him that much was obvious but did he want to be brought back to life?Anthony didn’t care whether or not Ted wanted to come back to life. He infiltrated his mind for the sole purpose of bringing him back to life. Finding Cathy was paramount in Anthony’s mind. He had seen how distraught Asher was, he didn’t even want to imagine how Maggie would be. Anthony’s greatest fear as he prepared to do what he had to was that he would break Maggie’s trust and thereby betray the trust her father had in him when he took the chance to make him the pack doctor even though there were wolves in the pack more medically gifted than him.

Teddy watched the doctor skeptically. It seemed to him that the doctor was muttering something under his breath as he walked the length and breadth of the room twice before stopping at the foot of the bed. Teddy narrowed his eyes. He was curious to see what Anthony was doing.Anthony raised his dark eyes to Teddy’s face and in that moment the other man felt a chill go down his spine. There was something different about Anthony. Something terrifying, something insane and mysterious. Perhaps it was the look in his eyes, the tiny pinprick pupils, or the fact that his skin was paler than normal. Whatever it was, it terrified Teddy greatly.“Have you ever tried taming the beast?” Anthony asked. Even his voice was different now. It was deeper and as cold as death.Teddy resisted the urge to shiver as he gathered his thoughts to answer him. “W-we usually just let it have its fill of blood. Sometimes Theodore brings it under control and other times…” he shrugged helplessly. “We’ve never tried

The scarred woman stood behind Cathy watching as water poured down the shower on her body. Cathy’s body was pale, thin, and slippery with blood, sweat, and water. She was so weak she had to lean against the bathroom wall for support. The scarred woman did not offer a hand even though she frowned at Cathy's pathetic predicament. It was none of her business, that was what she told herself over and over as she applied more soap to Cathy's back and passed her the sponge so that she could scrub herself. Even though Cathy looked like something the cat dragged in from a very dirty tunnel, the scarred woman could see from the cords in her arms that on her good days, she was a very strong woman. Unbidden a smile curved her lips. Theodore always went for the stronger women. And Cathy was not just strong, she was beautiful too even under those layers of dirt and thin flesh so it wasn’t too far-fetched that he would go for a woman like her.But that smile soon disappeared as quickly as it came be
