Cathy expected him to tear her clothes off her, rip his clothes apart, and throw them out of the window so that he could throw her over her desk and take her roughly from any angle he liked. When his response was only a triumphant lopsided grin as he stepped away from her to walk deeper into her office, she felt her heart drop in the pit of her stomach. She could actually feel the weight of it in her belly.
A bad taste flew into her mouth. She had begged for Christ’s sake! Like a sex-starved whore she had begged him to take her!
While she raged inside her eyes studied the picture he presented in front of her desk. His hair was nicely mused thanks to her fingers running through it. The reminder of what her fingers had been doing in his hair and what he had been doing to her without undressing her was like heavy lead on her head.
“God, I feel like such an idiot,” she muttered to herself, her eyes flying over to see if he had his hearing aid on. He did but somehow when she flung her arms over his neck she must have turned it off. Good, because if he heard and knew just how embarrassed she was that would be another win for him and he seemed to be packing a lot of wins against her lately.
God how she hated his smug guts!
Feeling even more ashamed when he continued to say nothing, she hugged her arms to her midsection and squeezed as if that would send her heart back to her chest.
When he turned away from her desk she had the distinct feeling that he heard what she said hearing aid or not. Those eyes were very revealing.
“You don’t think I’m actually going to fuck you like a backstage stripper do you?”
She didn’t comment. She wouldn’t have minded in the heat of the moment given how greedy she was.
Ted narrowed his eyes at her still grinning. “Is that what you want?”
She shrugged and knew she was behaving like a spoiled teenager but was too angry to care.
He laughed loving this bratty side of her. He loved every side of Cathy Dark Storm. He had won as he knew he would. The woman could only lie for so long but he knew her better than she knew herself. Hell, he knew her better than himself and it drove him crazy.
“Come on, Cathy, you asked and now you need to tell me how you want it?”
“I didn’t ask, you forced me to.”
He laughed. “I didn't have to hold a knife to your throat or hold a gun to your head, princess. You responded to my touch..."
"Enough!" Her face burned red.
Ted chuckled. "You want me and I want you now tell me how, love.”
She shrugged again and this time she couldn’t fight her dissatisfaction. “I don’t know. Anyhow would have been fine but you just…walked off without finishing what you started…I guess that’s all this was for you. A game right?”
If she looked down she would have seen his cock, so hard it was enough to knock someone senseless with, straining to claim her. It was all he could not to cross the room and throw her down on her knees so that he could take her from behind.
But Theodore Cyneric was not an animal. He was an intentional man. A careful man. And in his world carefulness and patience were virtues. Going hot-headed into a mission would get you killed and Cathy Dark Storm might very well kill him with lust if he wasn’t careful.
So he walked toward her and tilted her face up to his. He didn’t have to lean his head for her to lift her face to meet his. She was like a rose, a passionate rose, waking up to his sun.
He made up for his actions by kissing her heatedly and she responded just as he knew she would. But Ted kept the kiss short.
“I will pick you up tonight.”
She immediately pulled back. “No, I can’t leave the club.”
“Darren and Taylor can handle it.”
“They are kids. The club is mine and I can’t be away from it for too long.”
He pinched her chin gently between his thumb and index finger, watching her eyes react to his touch. “Cathy, I have plans for you that are more than a rough tumble on your table. Can’t you find someone to take your place?”
Her brain worked quickly. “My brother…”
He dropped his hand, still holding her gaze. “Perfect. He will manage the club for the next three days.”
“Three days?!” she shrieked and pushed away from him.
“That is my price.”
She shook her head. “No not three days, tonight and that is all you get.”
“And tonight is enough for you?” his eyes and tone were once again light and teasing. “Cathy, I don’t want to fuck you once and call it quit, I want to make you a twenty-course meal and I am going to take my time sampling every flavor of you over and over and over.” He stepped toward her and leaned down to catch her bottom lip between his teeth, running his tongue sensually along its edge before releasing. “I am picking you up tonight.”
Without giving her another chance to argue he opened the door and was out in seconds.
Cathy started to go after him when she realized her gown was still drawn up and by the time she pulled it down and made sure she wasn’t as disheveled as she felt inside, he was long gone.
"Cathy?"
She swung around to see Taylor walking from the bar to the front door where she stood still trying to arrange her hair. But it felt like all her sins and Theodore's kisses were plastered to her forehead.
"Is everything alright?"
She forced a smile. "Yeah sure I just uh...I was hoping to catch Ted...I mean Mr. Cyneric before he left."
"He just rushed out a few seconds ago."
She pretended like she didn't know and widened her eyes. "Oh. Okay. Uhm...the drinks?"
"They are in the basement. I can't believe he sent three trucks. We have more than enough for tonight."
"Yeah, I'm sure we do," Cathy said absentmindedly. She was angry at Ted and she was angry at herself for not being fast enough to catch him before he left. She didn't even know where to reach him if she wanted to.
"And he's cute too."
That got her attention like nothing else could. "What did you say?"
Taylor shrugged and blushed. "He is. Even Ginny said so."
Rolling her eyes, Cathy hid her jealousy under layers of a frown. "Ginny thinks anything with XY chromosomes is cute."
"You think he's cute too. I saw the way you looked at him this morning."
"I was mad at him!"
"Yeah sure and I'm sure all you guys did upstairs was yell down each other's throats if you weren't burying your tongues down your throats."
Cathy's face burned red, her blush crept up her face and down her neck. "Taylor get out of my sight," she said in her bossiest tone. The teenager winked with a laugh at her before whistling a toneless song as she walked away.
Cathy was still blushing as she watched her walk away. Of course, she thought Ted was cute. What woman in her right senses wouldn't? And Cathy could bet her life that he was just as scrumptious beneath those layers of clothes. Which brought the most important question to mind: Should she take him up on his offer?
Just three days right? That's all. Three days the debt would be paid and they would both be satisfied and go their separate ways.
By evening the club was bubbling with activities. The red lights had been turned on to give a sense of intimacy to the partiers. Everything was going smoothly. Darren had gotten Carl to install the disco lights just as Cathy asked him to and Taylor had gotten the wolf and vampire props Cathy had ordered. Those props were in high demand, especially from a group of college sororities that frequented the club during the weekend. They were a group of girls highly infatuated with all things supernatural. Now they had wolf masks, fake vampire teeth, flurry wolf ears, and tails on while they partied with the real creatures they tried to imitate. But they didn’t know that. Cathy’s policy made it clear that the exclusive supernatural members were free to do as they pleased as long as they didn’t hurt the humans or reveal themselves. They only had to keep up appearances to attract more clubbers. Under Cathy’s leadership, Phoenix’s Claws was doing better than it was even under Ezra Dark Storm’s
Tonight’s job had been gruesome, one of the worst Ted had had to deal with. Getting information from a rogue wolf about an organized criminal syndicate was a difficult job but as always, Ted was a patient man and his skills for torture were unmatched. It was a quality that made him one of the most respected Hunters in the city. So far he had been able to keep the Don safe from another assassination attempt and while it had been an ugly job, he had tonight and the next few days to forget about the gruesome nature of his job. When he buried himself in Cathy's warmth. When Cathy walked up the stairs in that black gown with her hair over one shoulder, exposing the creaminess of her skin, nothing else mattered – not even the noise, the drunken dancers, and the smell of booze – but the elegant picture she presented. The woman was sexy without trying and the attraction between them had been undeniable from the start.Ted Cyneric was not the kind of man to let things slip past him and he knew
It was a Gulfstream G450 and Cathy was immediately impressed by it. It was fairly large with a capacity of 14 seats. Though it was night, her eyes didn’t miss the beauty of the matte black steel exterior, the painting job was well done.Ted knew the direction of her thought as he stopped the car and came around to her side to open the door. He enjoyed the display of amazement in her huge brown eyes. She was impressed, he could see that in the way she couldn’t stop gawking. He laughed. He wouldn’t begrudge her amusement. He had had the same reaction after the Black Hunter had been renovated. Black Hunter was one of his favorite toys and watching her jaw drop at the sight of it gives him so much pleasure.Cathy couldn’t help herself. As a Ptakallis wolf, once condemned by the goddess to live and scavenge the woods for a living, she and the rest of their stray pack barely knew the comfort of luxury. That was, until Maggie, heiress to the Dark Storm empire had been reborn not far from the
His eyes went dangerously dark and for a second Cathy wished she hadn’t asked that question. Then he dropped the knife and slowly washed his hands under the running water, wiping his hands clean before coming round the counter. Cathy spun on her heels as she watched him stroll over to where she stood. She pressed her back into the edge of the marble counter when he came to stand in front of her. Green eyes bore into hers as he leaned close. “Eager are you?” She swallowed. His voice was deep and it rumbled through every fiber of her body. She was nervous and began to ramble. “Look I understand that you want to take things slow but…” He placed a hand on her lips to stop the flow of words. “But you couldn’t resist begging.” “I am not begging,” she said defiantly. He dropped one hand down to touch her through the flimsy material of her skirt and smirked when she drew in a breath. “Are you sure?” She opened her mouth to deny again when he increased the pressure of his hand on her, pa
Cathy realized belatedly that she shouldn’t have revealed that because his grin disappeared in a second. But she hadn’t wanted him to go and had just blurted it out, too bad she couldn’t swallow it now.“What?” Ted intoned incredulously. She didn’t look away from his eyes. She was a wolf and as such shouldn’t have such a foolish defect that humans were prone to. But the moon goddess, tricky as ever had somehow cursed her with infertility. Cathy didn’t look away even though she was embarrassed by her failure but the last thing she wanted was to make him see that. So she pasted a smile on her face and urged him to come closer.“That’s an advantage, Ted. You don’t have to worry.”But he didn’t budge. Unavoidably that pitiful look came into his eyes dampening her pleasure.Cathy groaned and gave up trying to pull him back to her. If that was enough to make him go soft then Chase was right, he wasn’t worth her time and effort. But to her surprise instead of pulling back from her, Ted gathe
When Cathy woke up the next morning she found herself still in his arms. Even though she had moved her legs a lot during the night, he remained the way he was. She suddenly felt conscious of her weight pressing him into the couch. There was no way he could have slept through the night when she was pressed up against him like that. But when she lifted herself off him and looked down she found that his lashes – long dark and glossy – feathered across the top of his cheekbones. But she could sense that he wasn’t sleeping and her suspicion was confirmed when his lips twitched.Cathy fought her smile and shimmied in his arms.“Are you comfortable?”He nodded still closing his eyes. She didn’t believe him for one second. “Did you get any sleep?”“I don’t sleep deep.”For a man like him with his kind of occupation, she could understand why.Cathy sucked in a breath feeling her entire body come alive once again. She felt so…she struggled to find the word but eventually settled for ‘thoroughly
Cathy had been running down the beach line, enjoying the sting of the salty wind in her eyes and between her furs. She enjoyed the crush of sand beneath her paws. There was something so serene about running along the water bank while the sun rose. The island was even larger than she thought it was now that she was running eastward.A mischievous laugh resonated through her. She had always been the rebellious one of her siblings, definitely not as rebellious as Carl, but as a female and compared to Chase, she was pretty wild.Ted didn’t have to know she had gone to the cove ahead of him. Besides, Cathy was pretty confident as she neared the rise of the rocky cliffs that she would be just as surprised when she saw the cove later tonight as she would be if she saw it this morning.Besides, seeing it now without Ted as a distraction was a good idea. She had a good idea he didn’t just want to show her the cove. There were other things they could do in there too.Cathy shivered with excitem
Cathy, in her dazed and injured state, had the distinct impression that she was wheeled in through the back of the hospital and she was right. Thankfully the hospital director whom Ted unsurprisingly knew permitted their use of the back door. Ted was popular with the locals. He was also the owner of the biggest property on the island and as such the locals respected him. Not just for his wealth though. He contributed greatly to the island’s development in all areas so when he needed a private ward for Cathy with as little crowd as possible and the best doctor on duty, it was provided.“Of all the things I thought I would treat I didn’t think a wolf would be one of them.”“You’ve treated worse before,” Ted retorted looking up at the young doctor who came into the room. She was a young hybrid, 30 % shapeshifter and 70% human, as such her powers were limited. But she was intelligent and indebted to Ted.“That is because you bring the strangest things around here, Ted.” She walked to the
Cathy raised her hands to his pants. She tugged at his belt, undid it, and cast it aside. Then her fingers went to the metal hook which she tugged loose before going to work on his buttons.Edward watched her work, silent. She was nervous. He could sense her nervousness but he could also smell her arousal. It was delicious. Was this what his stupid brother smelled every time he fucked her? It made him jealous. He was so jealous he could barely think through the fog in his head. He wanted to bash her head in in his jealous anger. He wanted to squeeze her throat and watch with satisfaction as she struggled to breathe. His brother was not allowed to have anything that he didn’t have.He only calmed down when he squeezed his fingers into the palm of his hands and reminded himself that Cathy was here with him now not his stupid brother.Cathy had now finished unbuttoning his trousers. She reached into his pants and pulled his cock out. It was huge and long. Thickly veined, red, and wet at
“Leaving already?” Edward and Cathy stopped before his car. They were just about to get in when Veronica ran out of the club. She was surprised to see them leaving especially since the night was still young. “Any problem with that?” She came to stand in front of him, her eyes shadowed with confusion. “You have never left before the night is over, Edward.” “And I choose to leave early today, Kitty do you have a problem with that?” “I – I -,” her eyes drifted to Cathy who stood silently beside Edward still dressed in her lingerie. “No, I don’t have a problem with it.” “Good. Rebel and I are going home. You should be able to take care of the club while I’m gone, right?” his voice had become deep. She nodded. “Yes, Edward.” “I mustn’t lose any money tonight, Kitty, not even 1% of what I earned yesterday, have you heard me?” She nodded. “Yes, Edward.” He slipped his arm around Cathy’s waist. “Come, my dear, let’s go.” Veronica stood there and watched as they walked to the car wh
Dressed in a black silky chemise, Cathy followed Veronica who led her to the back of the stage.Veronica was muttering something about her not being ready for a show yet and why Edward could not see that when she glanced over at Cathy.Cathy’s face was blank. She simply stared ahead at the back curtains leading to the stage with her hands clasped in front of her. Her amber eyes were dull, and her eyelids fell heavy, causing her lashes to fall just shy of her cheekbones. It created a very sultry look that even Veronica had to admit looked sexier than that of their best dancer. She cocked a brow silently as she thought to herself, maybe she is ready. While they waited for the next dancers to leave the stage, footsteps suddenly came running toward them.Even though she heard them Cathy stared ahead. It was Veronica who looked back to see what the commotion was all about. Several of Edward’s girls were making their way toward them with huge frowns on their faces.“Kitty!” they cried out.
The club was larger than anything she had ever seen. Not that Cathy had any memories of clubs that she had seen. As soon as she walked in with her arm locked with Edward’s, her eyes widened. It was a very huge establishment. It had high arched ceilings that had been converted with round glass bulbs throwing different colors of lights all over the place. Speakers hung from almost every corner of the wall, booming loud banging music that made the ground shake beneath their feet. The ground was black tiled and it was marble. It was clean too. Edward had a policy about neatness in his club so while drinks were passed around, staff made sure they moved silently through the crowd to mop up anything that may have been spilled. But that was just the common area and though it was spectacular to look at it was still a common area with lots of people and cheap drinks around.Edward released her arm and slipped his arm around her waist. “Come.”Veronica had led the other girls to the back to get
“I’m guessing that’s something related to my sister?” Chase did not hesitate to ask as soon as Teddy announced that news.“It might be,” Ted responded.Asher returned with some clothes which he tossed across the room at Ted who easily caught them. He dressed quickly turning his lips down at the corners at the thought of wearing clothes that did not belong to him. But he couldn’t complain because he was in the enemy’s territory and he was lucky to still have his head on his shoulders especially because he was responsible for the disappearance of one of the most valued members of their pack.He finished dressing and then turned to Teddy. “Where did Max say he was?”“Still hunting down the Shadow. One of the other guys claimed he might have had an encounter with him so Max is following that lead.”“Which may be wrong,” Chase interjected.“But following it is worth a try. I don’t suppose I could grab some weapons from your arsenal?” Ted asked hopefully.“Why?”“So that he can be prepared
“Will you explain what the heck is going on here?”Asher’s tone was deceptively calm. Anthony could sense not just the confusion, he could also sense the fear he felt at seeing Ted awake without knowing what the heck to expect. He understood Asher’s fear but he also understood his anger. Even Chase and Carl were both angry and fearful and they kept respectful distances. The only people who didn’t subconsciously back off from him and Ted were Maggie and Teddy.Maggie came forward and put her arms akimbo. “So, would you two explain what the heck I going on here?”“Just as soon as he closes his and Ted’s skull,” Carl chipped in, disgust lacing his voice.“Give me a moment,” Anthony told them and he stood up. While Ted watched everything going on with a frown across his forehead, Anthony used his powers to close up both their heads.“What the hell dude!” Ted exclaimed as soon as his skull was fixed back. He raised a hand to his head and touched it half expecting to be touching his brain b
Anthony remained where he stood for a moment. Now he had the man, he just had to convince him to come back to life. It would not be an easy task and now Anthony was beginning to wonder if he had made a mistake. He had been lucky enough that those drops of water, like bread crumbs, had led him to Theodore. Ted himself were those water drops. He had wanted Anthony to find him that much was obvious but did he want to be brought back to life?Anthony didn’t care whether or not Ted wanted to come back to life. He infiltrated his mind for the sole purpose of bringing him back to life. Finding Cathy was paramount in Anthony’s mind. He had seen how distraught Asher was, he didn’t even want to imagine how Maggie would be. Anthony’s greatest fear as he prepared to do what he had to was that he would break Maggie’s trust and thereby betray the trust her father had in him when he took the chance to make him the pack doctor even though there were wolves in the pack more medically gifted than him.
Teddy watched the doctor skeptically. It seemed to him that the doctor was muttering something under his breath as he walked the length and breadth of the room twice before stopping at the foot of the bed. Teddy narrowed his eyes. He was curious to see what Anthony was doing.Anthony raised his dark eyes to Teddy’s face and in that moment the other man felt a chill go down his spine. There was something different about Anthony. Something terrifying, something insane and mysterious. Perhaps it was the look in his eyes, the tiny pinprick pupils, or the fact that his skin was paler than normal. Whatever it was, it terrified Teddy greatly.“Have you ever tried taming the beast?” Anthony asked. Even his voice was different now. It was deeper and as cold as death.Teddy resisted the urge to shiver as he gathered his thoughts to answer him. “W-we usually just let it have its fill of blood. Sometimes Theodore brings it under control and other times…” he shrugged helplessly. “We’ve never tried
The scarred woman stood behind Cathy watching as water poured down the shower on her body. Cathy’s body was pale, thin, and slippery with blood, sweat, and water. She was so weak she had to lean against the bathroom wall for support. The scarred woman did not offer a hand even though she frowned at Cathy's pathetic predicament. It was none of her business, that was what she told herself over and over as she applied more soap to Cathy's back and passed her the sponge so that she could scrub herself. Even though Cathy looked like something the cat dragged in from a very dirty tunnel, the scarred woman could see from the cords in her arms that on her good days, she was a very strong woman. Unbidden a smile curved her lips. Theodore always went for the stronger women. And Cathy was not just strong, she was beautiful too even under those layers of dirt and thin flesh so it wasn’t too far-fetched that he would go for a woman like her.But that smile soon disappeared as quickly as it came be
