"I didn't expect you to have so many tricks up your sleeve, Mrs. Layton. Good on you," Dexter forced through gritted teeth. Then, he sneered and continued, "Don't forget that your grandmother is still in my hands, though."

"Cut the crap," Lucille said coldly. "Let's make a deal. Let my grandmother go, and I'll go with you. I'm the one you want, anyway."

She wouldn't tell him she would only go with him if he could catch her. She unbuckled her seatbelt as she spoke and got out of the car.

This caught Dexter off guard. Would she really come with him so easily?

"What? Lost your nerve?" Lucille knew how to push Dexter's buttons. "Don't tell me you're afraid of a woman when you have a group of men with you."
