Chapter 469

Lucas sat on the couch, his countenance dark as he gazed at the woman opposite him.

Bailey crossed her legs while hugging a pillow, mumbling, "I don't want anything. Like I said a million times, I don't want to get married."

"Why?"

"I told you before. Marriage is the death of love. Isn't that enough of a reason?" she questioned.

Lucas' temples throbbed, and his veins were protruding. He never expected that cynical idea to be the greatest obstacle in his life one day.

Taking a deep breath, he asked, "So, you believe that as soon as we get married, our love for each other will vanish? Or is it because you think I don't love you enough?"

Bailey pondered briefly and answered, "Neither. Instead, I think you've been doing amazingly well. I just don't want to get married. That's all." Then, she added, "Aren't things great the way they are now?"
