Ivy stepped off the bus in Cayton, a small town that was far away from the hustle and bustle of Charleston, the place she had called home for the past few years. She felt a strange sense of peace wash over her as she looked around at the quiet streets, the trees dancing in the breeze and the familiar faces of the locals who were already familiar with her story.
She had left Charleston behind to start fresh. She had said goodbye to her family, her friends and her job, but most of all, her relationship with Jason. The breakup had been hard, she had loved him so much, but she knew it was for the best.
Ivy remembered everything like it was yesterday. She remembered as she stepped off the elevator, her heart pounding with excitement. She had a few surprises in store for Jason's birthday. She was looking forward to seeing the look on his face when she showed him what she had brought.
A playstation game, a new sneaker and the dream car he had always wanted.
Ivy remembered saving for two years plus adding her side hustles again to get these gifts for him.
Ivy could recall as she took a deep breath and opened the door to Jason's apartment. She expected to find him in the living room, but instead she found him stark naked on the couch with another girl. Ivy felt like she had been punched in the gut.
She wanted to turn around and run away, but her feet felt like they were glued to the floor. She couldn't believe what she was seeing.
A blonde girl had her arms around Jason, and they were both laughing. Ivy felt like she had been betrayed. Tears welled up in her eyes and she couldn't speak. She just stood there, frozen in shock.
Jason must have noticed her standing there because he jumped off the couch, pushed the blonde girl aside and tried to cover himself up with a blanket.
Ivy felt upset as she remembered something she didn't notice before.
As she thought about it, she squinted her eyes.
Jason wasn't wearing a condom when he jumped off the couch. He must have been having unprotected sex with the blonde girl.
Wow.
He must have been having unprotected sex with other girls too.
Her heart sank. She needed to go check herself. What if that bastard contacted some STDs and her with them?
She felt the hair on the back of her neck stand up.
She remembered him stumbling over his words, trying to explain the situation.
"Ivy, I can explain," he said.
But Ivy couldn't listen. She felt too hurt and betrayed. She turned around and ran out of the apartment, tears streaming. Such a poignant moment to recall.
She needed to distance herself from the pain and sadness, and Cayton was the perfect place to do that.
Ivy took a deep breath, smiled, and started walking towards the inn, ready to begin her new life.
The sun was setting as Ivy made her way down the cobblestone path that led to the small, but quaint inn. As she stepped up to the porch, she noticed an old rocking chair that was swaying back and forth in the warm breeze. She smiled to herself, it felt like this was where she was meant to be.
Ivy opened the door and felt a cool breeze touch her skin. It felt like she was home.
Ivy stepped into her new home, taking in the sights and the smells of the house. She had been longing for a place of her own for a long time, and now that she had it, she was determined to make it her own. She turned to her boxes piled up in the corner of the living room, ready to start unpacking and making the space her own.
She began with the kitchen, carrying boxes inside and setting them down on the counter. She opened them one by one, carefully removing each item and placing it in its designated spot. She unpacked plates, silverware, and mugs, taking time to admire each item before putting it away. After a few hours, the kitchen was finished and Ivy moved onto the living room.
She arranged the furniture, hung artwork, and placed trinkets around the room. She had brought a few boxes of books with her, so she lined the shelves with her favorite novels and memoirs. As she hung pictures and decorations, she imagined the memories and moments she would make in this new home.
When she was finished, Ivy stepped back to take in the transformation. She had created a place that was warm, inviting, and most importantly, her own.
It was time for lunch. She needed to make a meal.
Ivy was in the kitchen, hastily throwing together a quick meal. She opened a can of tuna, added some mayonnaise and diced onions and peppers, then grabbed a few crackers from the pantry. She stirred it all together and grabbed a plate from the cupboard.
Just as she was about to take her first bite, Ivy heard a knock at the door. She sighed and set down her plate, wondering who it could be. She wiped her hands on her apron and went to answer the door.
When she opened it, she was surprised to see someone at the door. "Oh, hello there," she said with a smile. "What brings you here?"
The stranger smiled back. "I live next door and I thought I'd stop by and say hello. I'm your neighbor, my name is Rafe. I came to introduce myself. Are you busy? I could help of you'd like or I could come back another time if you'd like."
Ivy waved her hand. "No, no, it's fine. Please come in." She stepped aside to let the stranger inside. "I was just making myself a quick lunch. Would you like to join me?"
The stranger hesitated for a moment, but then nodded. "That would be lovely, thank you."
Ivy smiled and led him nto the kitchen. "Have a seat. I'll just finish up what I was doing."
Rafe, the stranger took a seat at the table, and Ivy went back to her meal. She quickly finished her lunch and served Rafe a plate, and then, the two of them sat to exchange pleasantries.
Rafe smiled at the new neighbor seated beside him. He'd heard about her moving in yesterday, so he'd decided to come out to welcome her to the neighborhood. "Thank you for the meal. It's an honor to meet you once again" he said, extending his hand. "I'm Rafe. I live right across the street. I heard you moved in yesterday and wanted to come and say welcome. I didn't know you'd be so kind enough to hand me a meal. Thank you"
Ivy smiled, taking his hand and shaking it. "Thank you! That's really nice of you. I'm Ivy. I'm still getting settled in, but it's great to meet you."
Rafe nodded. "Well, if there's anything I can do to help you out, just let me know." He adjusted the baseball cap on his head, the sun making its way higher in the sky. "We might be neighbors, but we can be friends too."
Ivy's smile widened. "I'd like that."
When they finished, Ivy thanked returned to the kitchen to clean up.
As she washed the dishes, Ivy thought about how nice it was to share a meal with a neighbor. The incident played out quite well in her head. She smiled to herself, feeling content with the day.
Ivy trudged up the path to her front door, her arms laden with grocery bags. She'd had the foresight to stock up the fridge; she knew she would be having a lot of guest who'd come to welcome her to the neighborhood,so it'll be best to have snacks and drinks to welcome them. Ivy was struggling to carry the groceries up the stairs of her apartment building. She had picked up a lot of items. She was so distracted by her thoughts that she wasn't paying attention to her steps. As she was about to take the next step, she felt her foot slip and she started to fall. Before she could hit the ground, she felt a pair of strong arms catch her. She looked up and saw another stranger, he looked alot like Rafe, the new neighbor from yesterday. He had been passing by and had seen Ivy struggling with the groceries. He had rushed over to help her out of the situation. Ivy blushed as she looked up at the stranger. She was embarrassed that she had almost fallen and that he had seen her. "Thank you for
Raymond had it planned in his head. Actually, he didn't. He was use to having aggressive and spontaneous sex. That's the way he had it with his girls. The way he enjoyed werewolf's liked it but since he wasn't sure how she would like it, he would go slow then build up the pace.So the plan was, kiss her first. Make her long for it, then fuck the hell out of her. As he pushed open the door and held her by the shoulders, she was a little shorter, so he bent to her height and he planned to smoulder her with kisses, he heard the door bell. "Are you expecting someone?" he asked."No," Ivy replied. "Who could it be?"She walked over to the door and opened it, revealing Raymond's brother Rafe standing on the other side. Raymond let out a sigh and tried to hide his frustration. He was just about to lean in when the doorbell rang, interrupting the moment. He stepped back and looked at Ivy, disappointment written all over his face. "Rafe!" he exclaimed. "What are you doing here?"Rafe explain
Raymond had been watching Ivy's window for hours, waiting for the perfect moment to make his move. A light shorn from the window of the living room. Maybe she was still up. He had felt sexually attracted to her the moment they had met and he had been used to getting whatever he wanted, Ivy would not be an exception, no matter what Rafe said. So tonight he was determined to make his move and have her. Be had never really testedbhsi werewolf abilities but he had heard a legend that a werewolf could jump high enough to reach into a second story window, and he was determined to do what ever it took to make it happen. He took a deep breath and prepared himself for the transformation. He closed his eyes, and all of a sudden he felt a surge of energy running through his veins. His heart beat began to soar, and he could feel the power of the transformation taking over. His arms and legs began to lengthen, and his senses became incredibly heightened. His vision became better, he could see th
Rafe took a deep breath as he laid on his bed. Ivy had made his day. She pecked him. Actually, he considered it a kiss. A kiss on the cheek. It sounded more romantic that way, in his head."Oh boy" he said as he smiled ear to ear. He really couldn't hide his excitement. Then, he suddenly stopped smiling. He wasn't supposed to be this excited. Not after what happened to Mirabella. How could he forget so easily? He slapped his forehead hard. He wasn't supposed to be this excited over a woman. Not now. Not later. Not in this lifetime. He needed to avoid Ivy. A wolf wasn't supposed to have two mates in one lifetime. That was a rule.Mirabella was his first mate and that was the truest of love to him. Rafe laid in bed, his eyes closed. In his mind he replayed the moment he had met his first love, Mirabella. They were a couple from childhood. Her family was part of the pack. The 'M' family. He remembered vividly. Everyone always called them a couple right from childhood. Rafe and Mirabe
Rafe ran out of the house as fast as his human legs could carry him but it didn't seem fast so he transformed into a wolf and sprang to Ivy's house. Rafe knew he had to be careful, he had tracked his brother Raymond, and now he was here. He had to get in so he rang the doorbell and called out Ivy's name. No one answered. So Rafe took a deep breath again and rang the doorbell the second time. He had to be calm and collected, he didn't want to perceive the situation differently. He waited a few minutes but no one answered so he turned his hands to a claw and opened the lock. Someone was screaming. It was coming from the bedroom. It was Ivy. What was going on? Behind the closed door, he could sense Raymond's presence. His brother was human but he could feel his heartbeat increasing. Raymond was agitated, he was slowly transforming into a werewolf. Rafe had to stop him. If he didn't, Raymond would expose the family secret and that would require that they kill Ivy, to conceal their
Ivy had strategically been avoiding the 'R' family. Raymond and Rafe. Whoever it was, she would avoid them. Work made it easier for her. She would go out early and come back late. Perfect plan. It was really going well, atleast, until that rainy morning.Ivy stood in the rain, her umbrella useless against the relentless downpour. She was already running late for work, and to make matters worse, her usual taxi driver had failed to show up. She was stranded outside her door, with no way of getting to the office in time for her deadline. Just as she was about to give up, a car pulled up beside her. Through the blur of the rain, she recognized the driver, and her heart sank. It was Rafe, the same man she had been avoiding since their awkward encounter the other night. He had offered to help her then, but she had refused and the moment had been filled with embarrassment. Ivy wanted to turn him away again, but the rain was still coming down, and she was in desperate need of a ride. She he
Ivy sat on her bed, flipping through the contract Mr Jones Vones had given her in shock. She had been warned not to speak of the things she would be asked to do, and the consequences if she did. The pledge at the end of the document made Ivy shudder. If she ever revealed what was asked of her, he would kill her. He also included that the mere fact that she knew about this contract was a threat to her normal life. She closed the contract. Ivy thought about the date with Mr Jones. He didn't look like the type to do a dominant and submissive kind of relationship. He wanted her to become his submissive. That was no ordinary job, she had browsed about it and saw that much. Did gentlemen really have these kinds of skeletons in their closet?A wave of fear and anxiety washed over her, making her heart race as her phone rang and Mr Jones' name popped up. She reluctantly picked it up. He spoke first. He asked if she had settled well at home. She said yes. He asked if she had seen the contract
Rafe had not seen Ivy for a week now and this bothered him a bit. He usually saw her whenever she was coming home from work but he hadn't seen her as of lately. He wondered why. He knew she was avoiding him but could she have gone all out to do that? "Why am I looking for her anyway?" He asked himself as he stared at his reflection in the mirror. He often had conversations facing the mirror as though he really was talking to someone else who was also himself. It felt more comfortable that way.He had managed to convince himself that he didn't like her and was just trying to protect her out of the goodness of his heart and the fact that she looked like his lifetime mate who had died. He tried so hard to believe that but it was speedily failing. The way she made him feel told him differently. The feel of her skin on him made him think otherwise and even the thought of her alone made him excited. He tried not to show it but he knew he had started having feelings for Miss Ivy. That was n
Mr Jones Vones charged at Dan with all his strength and in a few seconds, he had Dan on the ground again. The power punch was so impactful that it send Dan, again to the ground in seconds."Looks like this isn't a fair fight but it looks like that's the way it's going to have to be. Believe me" he said as he put his hand on his chest. " I had no intention whatsoever about ending our life long friendship this way but I guess that's how life plays it out to be. And who am I to object?" He said as he calmly recollected his steps. He paused for a while as he watched Dan catch his breath. Dan who was on the floor managed to get up as he tried to get on up on his feet. He couldn't and so he sat there, tired and exhausted from the blows he had received. He was a powerful alpha but time and age had taken a toll on him. He was not the same werewolf he used to be. "It is depressing seeing you this way but I have to go. So, I have to wrap this up quickly. It'll be almost impossible to kill all
Rafe turned his back as he immediately ran off. His father was holding the guards off and soon had all of them on the floor. Rafe turned to see his father as the only man standing while the other men were all on the floor. He smiled inwardly. That was the man he knew to be his father. The strong man who had taught him all those years. Yes!Dan had finished fight off all the guards sent to trap his son as he stood to make sure his son had escaped successfully. He saw Rafe leave the compound and watched as he disappeared into the woods."Dont think your son will be gone too far. When I'm done with you, I'll go for him and then the rest of your family" a familiar voice called out to him. Dan turned his head to see the speaker as he noticed Mr Jones Vones had moved from where he was and was now few feets away from him.A blow to the head nearly landed on him but luckily, he dodged it right on time as he pushed himself backwards, away from Mr Jones Vones. Dan fell to the ground as he did t
Dan stood to protect his son. Mr Jones Vones had grown powerful and he knew he probably had no chance fighting but he could not stand there and watch the bastard rip his son's heart out."You'll pay for this, you bastard! " He screamed at the top of his voice. He was angry now and was willing to do anything just to get back at Mr Jones Vones."I'm waiting.. Come get me! '' Mr Jones Vones said. He gave him a little smirk at the end of his speech as he lifted the heart in hand and threw it to him. "Have that as a trophy in your arms before I rip your son's heart out too. Don't worry. While I am at it, I'll rip your whole family's heart out too. How about that?!!" He said to Dan as he immediately started laughing. He coughed in between as the laughter seemed to have choked him. Dan turned his back as he leaned to his son's side and whispered.Rafe was still slightly unconscious as he couldn't really hear all what his father was saying but he tried to make some sense of it."Rafe, your u
Dan watched as his rival lifted his hand to gesture his guards to come to him. The first set of guards made their way to Mr Jones Vones as the next set walked to him with something in their hand. Dan looked closer. It wasn't a 'something', it was a someone. He looked again as he saw his brother all covered in blood. Damian looked tired as he opened his mouth gasping for air. His shirt and underwear were all covered in look. They had even been to read they now hung loosely on his body. Dan wanted to shout but he bit on his lower lip."I'm sure this won't be a hard choice to make but I would rather let you make the choice but yourself. So what is it going to be?" Mr Jones Vones clapped as he pointed to Damian. "Are you going to pick your brother over here? Or … " he moved his body as he pointed to Rafe, ".. your son over there. I just warn you, the moment you pick one person, the other one's life will go to waste. So who's it gonna be?" He ended his question with another clap. " I'll g
Rafe's head had hit the ground and he was still unconscious. His father tried to fight off the men that stood to block them off. Time passed slowly as it all happen. On one hand, Rafe was barely moving with blood rolling off his head, on the other hand, his father fought off the guards and in a not so far environment, Damian was trying with all his might to hold down Mr Jones Vones who had become a full wolf."I thought you were always against them. You said you hated them. That you wanted nothing to do with them. Nothing at all, but here you are fighting alongside them. Dagger, this is your last chance, stand down and let me end this successfully. I repeat, stand down!!" Mr Jones Vones said. Damian shifted back a little as he tried to massage his wrist. Mr Jones Vones had twisted it as they fought and he was sure it might have been broken."My real name is Damian. Damian Rawl and I'm sure you never knew that because you weren't my family. That's one things about family
Where do you think you're going with my prisoner?" Mr Jones Vones said to Dan and Damian. They had both paused at the sound of his voice and we're now facing him. Mr Jones Vones had a smirk on his face as he looked at both men. "I see your family has a history of stealing. Your son here, he stole my bride. Your brother stole my identity and now, you want to steal my prisoner. Does this always happen? Is your family never contented with what they have. Must they take what others have?" Mr Jones Vones said as he started to move. He had a casual look on his face, as though he was talking to people he didn't consider his enemies.Dan glared at him without staring. His brother had the same look. Damian had intially take a stance of defense. He had his legs apart and his torso strengthened. He was ready to take down all the men who came at him or his brother."It seems you have no idea what is yours and what isn't? You really need to have a rethink on that. Don't you think?" Dan said calmy
Damian turned to his brother to give him a death stare. He had no idea his brother knew him as Dagger. Dan froze in his step as he raised his face to stare back at his brother."Go on!. Answer me!. You already know what I mean. Tell me" Dan said to his brother as he tried to adjust his son's weight on his body. Rafe was gradually slipping off his shoulder and unto his back.Damian bit on his lower back as he stared into his brother's eyes for a while then turned to continue walking, "Won't you say anything?" Dan asked, he dropped his son to stretch his shoulders and then picked him back up. Damian had gone further in front- Dan picked up his son and walked a little faster to get to his brother."Won't you say a word? I didn't ask that question for nothing, you know!" Dan said as he caught up with his brother. Damian still did not say a word as he walked in front of his brother. Dan grew tired and so he forcefully nudged his hand into his brother's side."What was that for?!" Damian c
The figure walked to Rafe's cage. It bent over to have a look at him properly. It sighed and called out, "I think your son passed out when he saw me. Come in" Dan walked in after his brother, Damian. He rushed to his son's cage and fell to the floor to feel his son's pulse."I don't think so. He's been stressed lately Look at him. They had beaten the shit out of him, I can tell by the looks of things. His pulse is failing. We need to get him out of here and fast or he might actually die here. Come one" he said as he stood to his feet and turned to the other side of the cage."You need to be careful. Mr Jones Vones does not do things with the physical eyes. I can tell, "Damian said. His brother was about to cut the binds that held Rafe's hands together but he stopped him."Wait!!" He blurted out. "What is it??!!" Dan turned to his brother as he shouted out."Use something to test the cage. Don't touch it yet. I bet he knew we'd come. He must have set a trap somewhere, I'm sure" Damian
Rafe looked to his captor. He smiled, blood dripping from his mouth, "Is that all you have to say?" He huffed. "Well, I wasn't expecting them anyway so I guess it's a loss for you. I can't believe you came down here to tell me that. Don't you have something important to do?" He said to Mr Jones Vones.Mr Jones Vones was a bit taken back then reaction he got from Rafe. He had expected a tear or at least a loud cry. What he was seeing from Rafe was definitely not his plan of reactions."Aren't you surprised?" He asked Rafe. "It seems you didn't hear me. I said your father blew up in flames. I hope you know what that means. You have just lost your alpha and father. I won" he said with wide eyes. He must have expected Rafe to react while he said it the second time but Rafe still stared at him blankly."Clearly, I heard you last time. Repeating yourself only makes me see you desperate to get a reaction from me." Rafe said as he stared again.Mr Jones Vones stood up from his chair. He was n
