The winds blew up the dust like a huge whirlwind but Sandilo and Vivian stood frozen, dazzled by the sight. The spaceship landed as softly as the flamingoes skimming over the water. A door slid open and a slide of sorts rolled down.
An old man with grey hair, bespectacled eyes, and wrinkled face emerged out of the entrance and slid down as if he were riding a huge slide. His face was lit up with child-like curiosity.
His eyes darted around, drinking in the beautiful landscape. He opened his arms and took in a deep breath. His face flushed with contentment.
Vivian couldn’t believe what she was seeing. She felt like she will go crazy with the intensity of emotions that she felt at that time.
Much to Sandilo’s surprise, she leaped into the air and launched herself at the old man. She started licking his face just like a dog licks her master if they see them after a very long time.
The old man was dumbfounded when the huge white wolf pounce
Sandilo’s eyes darted from Grandpops to the steep descent. He was torn between following his mate and leaving her Grandpa alone in this unknown place.“It is okay, Go and get her…” Grandpops said, taking off his glasses and cleaning them.“But… Grandpops… This place is not safe. What if the wolves attack while I am away… Vivian will never forgive me…”Grandpops cleared his throat and said, “What if something happens to her?”Sandilo wrung his hands. He was really in a great fix. Just when he thought that things couldn’t get any worse, he heard the cracking of the leaves followed by heavy footsteps. His ears perked and he positioned in front of Grandpops.Grandpa let out a snort and said, “I don’t think I need your protection, cub. Move aside."Sandilo’s heartbeat accelerated as Grandpops shoved him out of the way and walked towards the brink
The unification ceremony was to be held by the lakeside. It was tradition to exchange vows under the moonlight.Sana checked the decorations one last time before the guests started to arrive. It was unlike anything the werewolves had ever seen. The whole stage was carved out of a single slab of pure white marble. It dazzled in the moonlight giving it a surreal look.Four pillars flanked the stage. Garlands of flowers entwined around the pillars like vines. Streamers and garlands ran between the pillars creating an enclosure of sorts. They had even managed to make four light bulbs glow in the corners. It was perfect just like Vivian had envisioned. Sana just wanted to add some additional effect. She took out a jar and opened it. The next moment, hundreds of fireflies flocked around the light bulbs, giving the setting a fairytale look. The area around the lake had been cleared to make room for the guests. In the extreme right corner, a huge stone oven had b
Vivian woke up with a start the next morning; completely drenched in sweat. She gripped the edge of the bed as she tried to catch her breath.“Vivi, what happened, love?” Sandilo asked groggily as he sat up rubbing his eyes.“I… saw that a fleet of spaceships had attacked the Lycan World and we both were running about, trying to save our daughter,” Vivian muttered with a horrified look.“Love, look at me…” Sandilo said drawing closer and lifting her chin.Looking into her eyes, he said, “It was just a dream. We are safe at the AV cottage. There is no attack.”Vivian’s eyes swept around the room and she relaxed considerably. Sandilo was right. It was only a dream. Still, she couldn’t help but wonder why she had seen the nightmare.Suddenly, she jumped to her feet and ran out. Sandilo shook his head at her weird behavior before following her out.It was a good thi
Vivian was seated on the cold floor of a poorly lit room. Her copper-brown tresses bounced on her forehead in the light breeze that blew in through the window. The loneliness and despair of the moonlit sky reflected in her electric blue eyes. She fiddled with the IAD (Information Analyzing Device) In her hand. It was just a piece of metal since its power had long died, and there was no way to power it up.The door burst open with a loud creak. Vivian understood that it was Sandilo without even lo
Click! Click! Click!..... Click! Click! Click!...The rhythming clicking of the pen pierced through the silence as Vivian paced at the entrance of the Zodiac Space Research Organization. After every round, she would glance at the device strapped to her wrist.Vivian was dressed in body-hugging pants and a full-sleeved sweater made up of a unique material called Jermakayun, which was embedded with nano temperature sensors that maintained the temperature of the body at the optimum level.
When Vivian woke up, she found herself lying on her bed. She woke up with a start as the memories flooded her mind.“No!” She screamed, tearing at her hair. “Vivi, calm down. Everything is alright.” Ruza said, rubbing her back. “How did I come here?” She said as she held her head. She felt like hundreds of hammers were hitting her at the same time.
“Ruza! You are late as usual.” Vivian said with a scowl.”“And you are early as usual.” Ruza retorted as she adjusted the straps of her backpack. She was dressed just like Vivian today. “Today is such an important day for us. Couldn’t you have come earlier?” Vivian said, tapping her foot. “Oh! Come on, Vivi.
Vivian and Ruza were seated on a raised platform facing a gigantic screen. An array of controls and buttons stretched out in front of them. “Navigation control.”“Check”“Fuel Level.”“Maximum.”
